We back away for a minute to catch our breath, but her brother catches my eye.
I freeze, not sure what to say, but finally blurt out, "How long have you been there?! It's not what it looks li-..." "Lary, he knows." She sighs, "He heard us when he came upstairs that one time."
I sit there in complete shock as she explains to me that she explained to him what we did. I can't believe she didn't keep our secret, but then again, how else was she supposed to explain? I reply with a sigh as she pulls me into a hug. "I'm sorry." She apologizes and I say, "It's not your fault, really." She nods, understanding. My face then flushes bright red as I cover it and she gets up off of the couch.
"Shall we?" She asks, holding out her hand so I can take it. I stare at it in complete confusion and she slightly chuckles. "Shall we head to the room?" I chuckle as I grab her hand. She pulls me up off of the couch and guides me upstairs towards our room. She opens the door for me and I smile. "Thank you." I say, walking in and taking a seat on the bed. "You're welcome, baby." She replies and sits beside me.
"Is there anything in specific you'd like to do?" She'd ask me suddenly and I'd stare at her for a couple of seconds, then I'd look around to think. There's many things we could do, but my brain is blank.
Blank like most people who don't have any dreams.
Blank like a blank canvas.
Blank like some lucky people's thoughts.
Blank like old, rusty train tracks.
Blank.
Blank like the facial expression I catch her looking at me with. I notice her breathing slowly as I try to think of anything to say. She starts searching my eyes for answers, but even I don't know them. I look up at the ceiling and sigh. "It's okay, I have no clue either but we'll think of something, I'm sur-." She pauses her sentence when she hears a knock on the door.
The first one is silent. The second one is slightly louder. The third was the one we both heard clearly. "ALAINA." *KNOCK* "OPEN UP." *KNOCK* She gets up off of the bed, stares at me for what feels like a minute, then she opens the door. "Yes? How may I help you?" She asks, staring at her brother.
"Time for dinner." He said and left. She looks over to me. I reply by shaking my head. Shrugging, I get up to walk over to her. She pulls me in to kiss me and afterwards we start walking downstairs to eat.
Her mom had ordered Italian and had already opened varies of pizza boxes. As she sees us walking downstairs, she smiles. "Help yourself!" She says as I smile back. "Thank you so much!" I reply. She nods her head, "You are welcome!"
Her brothers are first to get their slice as I pour my drink into the red solo cup Alaina has already passed me. I take a sip waiting for it to be my turn to get my pizza. "I can get it for you, if you'd like." Alaina whispered to me. "It's okay. You don't have to if you don't want to." I reply and she quickly replies with, "Of course I do! What kind would you like?"
"Cheese." I reply and she nods, walking over to the pizza boxes. There were all types of pizzas including meat lovers, sausage, pepperoni and cheese. When she came back, she placed my plate in front of me. "Thank you so much." I thank her as I take a bite out of my pizza. "Anytime." She replies and pours her drink before eating as well.
She starts staring at me and I smile, holding back my laughter as I ask, "Yes?" "Oh.. nothing... I guess I just can't look at you." She replies, looking away. I laugh as I say, "I didn't say that! I'm absolutely fine with you looking at me! Trust me!" My laughter increases as she shakes her head and replies, "You obviously don't want me looking you!" I sigh.
"Oh come on! You can look at me if you want to!" I reply. This goes on until we finish our plates. She then gives me the silent treatment as she takes my plate. "C'mon, Alaina. I swear you can look at me." No answer. I sigh as I get up and walk over to the couch. Her brothers walk upstairs and she walks over to me and sits in the seat furthest away from me.
"Come on!" I sigh, "is this really THAT big of a deal?!" She looks away from me once more as she flips through the channels, still completely ignoring me. I sigh and stare at her while she finds something for us to watch. She finally stops scrolling and the channel lands on Teen Titans.
Paying absolutely no attention what so ever, we pull out our phones. I text her.
L: PLEASE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD ANSWER ME
A: ...
Nothing.
L: PLEASE BABE
A: ...
Not a single thing.
I look up to look over to her. Her thumbs scan across the screen as I stare and she finally looks up. Sighing, she says, "I just can't ignore you at all, can I?" I chuckle and reply, "Nope." with a smile. She rolls her eyes and says, "Come here." Smiling and trying to keep in my "YAYYYYY!", I get up and sit beside her on the middle couch. She puts her phone away and we cuddle while watching Teen Titans.
