Succeeding the drill, Natalia and I went back to the inn, wanting to prepare our equipment before the assault. As we march inside the tavern, a petite wolf greets us with a beam.
At first, I thought it was the Alpha wolf, thrilled to meet his master returning home. However, the closer I observe the dog's features, the more I can see its limbs significantly petite compared to the leader. Even the white fur has a pint of yellow sprayed across its body that looks new in my eyes.
"We're back, pooch," I waved my hands and greeted the dog that is obstructing our path.
Much to our surprise, another canine walks behind, tugging the wolf, clogging the ingress as if it was a piece of furniture. The hound could only whimper in pain as the other wolf drags it further inside, away from our view.
The princess and I both stare in bewilderment, wondering that there are two more wolves inside the room.
A while later, the familiar image of the Alpha wolf welcomes us inside. He keeps turning his head, turning towards the right where the other dog got dragged earlier.
"I have magnificent news, Master," He exclaimed yet, his face illustrating the exact opposite.
"What is it?" My body jerks after hitting a wishbone of some sort lying across the rag, with splatters of blood colouring the floor.
"Who died here?" Natalia lifts her feet and walks awkwardly towards the couch, avoiding the red spots covering the ground.
"Well, you see, something had happened while you were away,"
An abrupt sound interjects his explanation, with the identical wolf leaping over from the chair. Its tail continues to wag side by side, showing that it was a hyper wolf that wanted to play. The dog even merrily hops around, with its tongue sticking out, hoping to entertain us with its energy.
"Is that you, Master?" The dog calls upon my attention, imitating how the Alpha wolf calls me.
"Only Alpha wolf calls me by that nickname," I respond, with my head still tilted on my left. "By the way, who exactly are you, pooch?"
I turn to face the pride wolf, whom I assume knows the entire situation.
"Don't tell me this is your daughter?"
"Sister!" He corrected while gritting the razor-sharp edges of his teeth.
After realising the grave mistake, the canine rushes over near my feet and kneels in front of my feet.
"I humbly apologise, my master. Please spare my life," He added whilst licking my right foot and way above my thigh.
With a slight kick knocking him off to the side, the dog returns from his position, still lamenting the actions he made. In a few seconds, his spirit soon recovers, reverting him to his original personality.
"Master, Princess, this is my sister, Imra," Coincidentally, the dog uses his paw to point the wolf beside him, like a person pointing out his hand.
"Howdy! The name's Imra, and I can't wait to roam around freely outside this room!"
'Such enthusiasm' Is my first impression of this lively wolf. She reminds me of my popular classmate back in my previous world that talks a lot about the internet.
"A complete opposite of you, Mr. Wolf," Natalia remarked while cracking up a laugh at her own joke.
"She's always like this," Alpha wolf could only accept Natalia's comments and shifts his body over the futon. "Before we leave, I'd like to recuperate my strength by resting on this bed."
"Wait, you're coming?" I assured, thinking that I had heard his words right by my ears.
"If my Master is coming, then so do I," the dog affirmed while letting his consciousness get the best of him inside his dreams.
My mind worries about his sister, Imra, joining our breach. After all, she's a walking speaker that expels a hundred decibels from miles away. It is quite ear-piercing for humans to apprehend such sounds, but I am an unordinary goblin with heightened senses. That alone should do the trick to keep both Natalia and me safe from the monsters and humans; if we come across them.
"That reminds me of something," I blurted out loud and informed the slumbering wolf on the warm futon.
"Master, I require some sleep," The wolf shrugs his head, uninterested by the matter I wish to express.
"Is there a possibility that I could give you a name?"
In the blink of an eye, the hound's body vanishes from sight and promptly dashed over to my fore, with such determination filling its globes.
"Your words have aroused this Alpha wolf from its sleep, Master,"
My head temporarily thought of his claim as sexual and perverted. 'No, Lake. It's not what he meant,' I insisted, trying to eliminate such a foul thought in my brain.
"Anyway, I've thought about giving you a name. Is that a plausible and workable plan?" I beckon my hand as if the idea that I have come up with was worthless to begin with. However, with the wolf's facial expression, the scheme may work out fine.
"It depends on your arcane output, Master," He closed his eyes and reminisced to himself, recalling a distant memory inside his head. "As long as your magic can handle it, then I don't see it's going to fail?"
His form of sentence shifted from declarative to interrogative, as if unsure of his own explanation. I could only scratch my head in annoyance, trying to figure out a way whether this proposition will thrive.
"Well, we can only know the results once we try," I nonchalantly uttered while contemplating a snazzy name that I could think of for a dog. He is like a pet for me, so I need to come up with a name befitting his status as the leader of his tribe.
"Have you thought of anything, master? You don't have to do this for me, you know?"
"Quiet, let me think of something," I interpose while unremittingly thinking of something along the lines of modern names that I remember in my generation.
"They already take Tempest as a name. I can't use the name Rangu," I mumble to myself while bombarding my thoughts with names that I can think of in the spur.
"Shadow,"
"Shadow?" The three of them recited in unison, bemused from what I have said.
"What's wrong?"
"You know the colour of the Alpha wolf is white now, do you?" Natalia pinches a small amount of fur and lifts it for me to see.
"I know, that's why I named him contrast from his colour," I insisted while bursting into laughter, amused and content about the name I have given to him. "Besides, Shadow loves it. Just look into his eyes. Isn't he a menace?"
"I hate you," Shadow-the wolf cladded in the silver mane, intensely growls at me for my humorous exclamation. However, after calming himself, he eventually realised the staggering title of getting called "Shadow,"
"One of a kind," I blurted while blowing off the ember from the lamp, cutting off our only light source inside the room.
Suddenly, a bright luminance envelopes Shadow's body, with some of its light glittering in the air. The radiance disperses upon contact with anything aside from his physique, making it a spectacle to witness.
"What's wrong with him?" Natalia was the first person to react, uncertain of what to do in front of a bizarre situation.

"No. Shadow is just experiencing slight modification inside his body," I certified after reading the notifications alerted by the system.
Imra, Shadow's sister, also sparkles in concordance with the Alpha wolf, with the same appraisal revealed by the system.
