Falling to a Bad Start

"Had enough?" Markus stomps my hand on the ground, making me release the grip of my blazing sword. At once, the fire dies out as soon as I feel the arcane escaping my body.

'He must have used something to repel my magic!' I thought, while leering directly at his eyes.

"Even Diamante put up a fight before we could decapitate him," He murmured to himself while unsheathing his blade back to his scabbard. "I never thought that this fight would go quickly and even poorly."

"I am just a goblin,"

"A goblin that owns the perfect system nobody could even imagine." His voice trails off in a distance as if telling an interesting story from the past. "Legends have told that the deities above use these systems. But, us, mortals, could not even tap its power."

Markus applies pressure on his feet and continues to squish my immobile hand. I can even feel his leather boots sinking in my green hands.
