Chapter 34. The Wounds of the Past

The dining room is quite large, the cutlery that looks luxurious has been neatly arranged on the dining table along with appetizing dishes.

A large table that should fit a large family.  But not in the big house.  A young man sat at the large table alone.  Three servants appear to be standing in the corner of the room, they are always ready to serve their master.  There was only one adult woman who was standing close beside the young man.

"Young master, are you okay? Last night you looked chaotic when you came home from a party held at Mahardika's residence" asked the adult woman whose name was Hafa.

Hafa means soft rain.  As the name implies, Hafa is a gentlewoman.  She was able to take care of Abi very well.  Hafa is the one who has taken care of Abi since he entered Mahardika's family.  Hafa is also one of Abi's most trusted people in the Mahardika family.  Since his mother died, Hafa has become a substitute for a mother.  Make no mistake, it doesn't mean Hafa is someone who is old.  Hafa is still young, she is only three years older than Abi.  Hafa is Abi's older Sister.  Apart from that, Hafa is also Abi's assistant.

"I'm fine. Just a little ... An old wound that accidentally crossed in front of me. No big deal. Hafa, what's my schedule today?"

"Today you have three meeting schedules, one at lunchtime and two at evening time. Apart from that, nothing is important."

"Can you vacate my schedule today? Postpone two meetings in the evening and the day meeting. You change the schedule to evening."

Hafa seemed to think for a moment, changing the meeting schedule today was quite complicated because the meeting was with important people from large companies.  But nothing is impossible for him and Abi.

"I'll do it soon," answered Hafa accordingly.

"Good. Hafa, regarding our conversation at that time. I want to play that role now."

"Are you serious? What if the Chairman finds out about this?"

"The chairman has fully handed over this project to me. He has promised not to interfere. You know, Hafa. What will happen to the LF Company if her daughter fails in this competition?"

"Yes, I understand. If I may know, the first or second daughter that you will save?"

 "What do you mean?"

"Aren't there two daughters of the company who entered the competition?"

"What ?! Really? Can you give me a copy of the CV?"  asked Abi.

How can I miss this?  Ah, maybe because I was too focused on Naya's CV.  Abi smiled, realizing his ridiculousness.

"I'll prepare it at your desk soon. You better eat first now."

"All right, you sit down too, we eat together."

 "No, that's not allowed."

"Why? Are you afraid of the old brat? Sit down!"  Abi grabbed Hafa by the wrist, forcing her to sit down.

"Abi, am I not allowed like this?"  Hafa felt uncomfortable.

"Hey, I already consider you like my sister. What's wrong if a younger brother wants to eat with his sister? After all, this is my house. The old boy has no power here."

"Hmm, you still call the Chairman by that nickname."

 "That call suits him best."

"It's up to you. I will not defend you if later he hears and pulls your ear" Hafa chuckled.

"No way, I am his favorite grandson."

"Okay, if it makes you happy" Hafa did not want to argue anymore.

"Hafa" Abi held Hafa's hand and looked at him gently.  It made Hafa even more uncomfortable being treated like that.
