Chapter 14

The weekend went slow for Addy who was eager to go to work on Monday, so he can meet Eva again. He woke up very early on Monday to go to the gym and do his morning routine.

Few hours later,

Addy arrived at his office after the usual morning meetings finished, he went back into his office waiting patiently for miss you know who. he keeps checking his wrist as the time approaches and he keeps adjusting his tie. Leo knocked on the door as he entered, Addy adjust himself excitedly

"Hmmm, I see you are patiently for Miss Williams, well sorry to disappoint you, Mr Lover, I'm here to ask if you would like me to order your lunch or you would go to the restaurant yourself?

Addy gave him a deadly glare that made him scared.

"I'm not in the mood to eat anything right now, I'm still waiting for our client's arrival," Addy said

"Our client indeed" Leo scoffed.

The intercom rang and the secretary said

"Sir, Miss Williams and her secretary are waiting in the conference room"

"Alright, I will be there soon" he replied

Leo was giggling seeing his friend all tensed up and he decides to tease him

"Hope you won't pee yourself when you see her, cos you are all tensed up"

Addy adjusts himself shooting Leo a very deadly glare, as he made his way to the conference room. Leo opened the door to the conference room to reveal two gorgeous ladies, one of them was shocked to the bone to see the person she hates the most in the same room with her

"You....bastard" Lilian flared up and was trying to compose herself in a professional manner, but Eva realised something was wrong

"Hello Lilian, long time no see" Leo greeted her as if they were cool but Lilian didn't respond to his greeting. Addy and Eva were both shocked and wondered what was going on between the two of them, but none of them made any comment about and decides to ask their secretary later.

"Hello, it nice to meet you again" Addy greeted Eva as he shook her hands intimately, Eva was feeling some type of way with the handshake.

"The pleasure is mine, Mr Thompsons" she replied as she forcefully removed her hands

"Oh please call me Addy," he said as he signalled for them to sit.

"Mr Thompsons, I thought I had an appointment with Mr Daniel from TEAM A, no one told me it's you that I would be meeting today," she said, she purposely didn't call him Addy cos she thought he's one weird guy and she doesn't want anything to do with weird people, so she would rather stay professional

"Oh Mr Daniel from TEAM A called in sick this morning and the rest of his team are fully booked, so I decided to handle your project personally" he replied embarrassed that he lied but he couldn't be bothered since she doesn't recognise Daniel personally. Leo cough and gave his boss a cheeky smile, Addy did as if he didn't see Leo's expression.

Throughout the meeting, there was tension in the room and they all couldn't wait for the meeting to end. After two hours, the meeting finally ended and they all stood up to shake themselves except Lilian and Leo.

"Miss Williams, would you like to join me for lunch this afternoon," he said hoping she would say yes.

Although she was hungry as well she taught about Lilian feelings, she has never seen Lilian behave like this in all the years she's been working with her and she would like to find out.

"Oh that's so nice of you, but we've already booked a restaurant down the street," she said

"Which restaurant is that if I may ask"

"Its called the posh gourmet, just three blocks away" she replied

"Wow, what a coincidence, that is also the restaurant we booked," he said shamelessly looking at Leo to quickly book a table in the restaurant. Eva's lips twitched at the shameless person in front of her. Well, I guess I will have to ask her later she thought.

On their way downstairs, the staffs were shocked to see their boss smiling from ear to ear, they've never seen him smile. Some of them were whispering to each other saying

"I think the boss is in love"

"Maybe that's the boss girlfriend, she's so beautiful"

"Isn't that VEES BRANDS CEO didn't know she's related to the boss enough to make him smile like a fool who is in love"

The whispers continued and a rumour started that their boss's girlfriend is Eva Williams.

As they got to the parking lot, Addy suggested they get in his limo but Eva refused as she insisted on going in her car with her driver and secretary.

Eva and Lilian got in their car, as the driver started the engine and left the building

"So will you tell me what is going on?"

"He's my ex I told you about" Lilian replied

"You mean that's the ASSHOLE?" Eva exclaimed

"Wow, you wouldn't know that some people are dogs when they wear nice suit and tie" she continued

They both cursed him on their way to the restaurant as they devised a plan to get back to him or to both of them if necessary.
