Chapter 26

Arriving in City X so late, Eva told Addy she would drop him at home, before going home, because she doesn't want to feel guilty of abandoning him somewhere. Addy gave the driver his home address, and they went there first. He had completely forgotten he was staying at the Thompsons mansion for the week.

When they got to his apartment, he thanked her and told her not to forget to think about his request, but she scoffed and looked away shyly.

"Stubborn girl," Addy chuckled as he made his way to his penthouse.

Eva couldn't help but smile to herself remembering everything that happened in city Y

'He's handsome and bold but very weird, I honestly can't get men' she was thinking to herself.

When she got home, she checked up on everyone and realised most of them were sleeping except for Lilian and Rhoda.

"How was your trip?" Lilian asked

"It was fruitful thanks, hope you are feeling better now" she replied

"Yes I'm feeling much better"

"I took some pictures today and I would love your opinion about it later when you get back to work," Eva said as she made her way upstairs to her room. She didn't want to tell her about Leo, because she knows one of the reason shes ill is because of him.

"Good night" She continued.

"Good night " Lilian replied

Eva was so tired but she had to take a bath to relax all her muscles. After fifteen minutes she stepped out of the bathroom and changed to her pyjamas. As she lied down her phone bleeped and she saw an unknown number. She picked up and shockingly it was Addy

"Hello, it's Addy, I'm calling to check if you got home safe and to thank you for today"

"Yeah I got home safe but how did you get my number" then she thought what a stupid question, her phone number is on the documents and more so her cousin would give him if he asked.

"I copied it from the documents, hope you are not angry" He replied calmly

"No, I'm not, it fine anyways since we will be working together"

"Anyways good night" she continued

"Oh, right good night" he smiled then hanged up. He had contemplated before calling her but decided to do it anyway.

After he hanged up, Eva blushed and felt butterflies in her stomach.

'Oh my gosh, he's so sweet, he's got the bedroom voice, his voice his so sexy... eww why would I be thinking about that now' she thought. I need to be strong, won't be swayed by his handsome face or his bedroom voice or his sexy body, I need to focus. It was as if an angel and the devil were arguing in her head, she kept battling with herself till she fell asleep.

Leo had gotten home early, as he noticed there's no one at home, he remembered his fiancée telling him she would be doing a photo shoot for a big brand in a rural area far from the city and it's might take days before she comes back home.

He is already used to these because her job requires her to travel a lot.

He had a quick shower and went to his study room. where he brought out his laptop and mobile phone.

He called his hacker friend to help him look for information on Lilian, about two hours later, his phone rang.

"Yo dude, I've sent you all the information," the hacker said

"Thanks really appreciate it" he replied

After he hanged up, he read the information that was sent, he then realised she had lived a low-key life after they broke up nothing special.

He was a little bit disappointed to not know if she's fine at the moment or not, so he decided to do that himself. Her home address and contact were sent with the information. So he decided to drive down to her house, he doesn't plan to enter, he just wants to see if the lights were on, then he would go back.

On getting to her house building, he knows the Thompsons Realtors owns the building but it's the agency department that is handling rents and mortgages.

He couldn't see her house view well and then he decided to get off his car, to go upstairs. He won't knock just want to know she's alright.

Unknown to him there was a man taking pictures of him entering the building. The private investigator Sara had hired has been in the same spot in his car, waiting for Lilian to show up, he knows this is her house but the only funny thing is, he hasn't seen her since he got there.

The private investigator recognised Leo, been his rival. He took full sets of pictures at different angles and smiled to himself.

Leo got to her doorstep and tried to listen for any movements inside but none. He then realised that what he's doing is very stalkerish, so he gave up and decided to check up on her later, he went back home to sleep.
