Chapter 26

"Hello, this is Emma."

Emma said, leg crossed over the sitting room potable table. She was watching one of the best horror movies on Netflix. She was eating Mac and cheese. Her laps were oily. She had just had a mini massage before the call popped on.

She wasn't expecting a call. She guessed she had an idea who was calling. Truecaller ID gave the person out as some therapeutical figure.

Why take all the chances of guesses when she could only just listen to whoever was on the phone.

"This is Jane. The therapist you hired for Mr Eric. Sorry, calling you with my private line."

The feminine but polished voice over the phone said.

"Oh, Jane. How'd it go. Sorry I didn't call. Thought twould be your busy hours. Hope no complications."

There was a tamed hush for a while. Emma thought the call had been dropped.

She glanced at the screen of the phone and put it back to her ear when she saw the call still on.

"Hey, are you there?"

She asked. Then there came some irregular bits of noise, then another hush, then Jane's voice.

"I'm sorry. Had to attend to my bunny, Lue. He almost peed on my PC."

Jane said.

"Oh, sorry about that."

"You don't have to be. I was saying."

"Yes, you were."

Emma didn't think her contribution was really necessary to the conversation.

She kept quiet for the lady to continue.

Jane came on again,

"I think Eric needs more than a therapist. But he wouldn't do well if he is by himself. His case is beyond my own specifications. But I'd recommend a friend to you. He should do well with a Male therapist. As soon as I drop this call, I'll forward the email address of Joe to you. He is the best hand for this."

Jane stopped talking. A question wielded in Emma's ken. She wanted to hold it back but what was the point.

"Sorry I may ask. Was Eric nas-ty to you?"

She said, cutting the word 'nasty' the best way she could.

She heard Jane sigh in the background.

"No it's fine, if you don't wanna talk about it. I understand. Thanks for your time and everything."

Emma made an exception. But that was when Jane seemed interested.

"No it's fine."

Jane chuckled and said,

"Eric almost ran me naked. His odds could be beyond the mental malady."

You could tell that the chuckle was forced.

"He once rough handled me too. I won't call it an assault. He wasn't in his right mind."

Emma defended. Jane sighed again and said,

"I'll go now. I have loads of duties waiting to strangle me. Expect the mail, and I'd love to meet you in person again. Maybe grab some cups of coffee."

Emma seemed impressed.

"And Emma, don't stop being good. It's quite a quality."

Jane added.

Before Emma could say a 'thank you'. She didn't know if she hung the call or if twas the network provider.

She felt touched by that. Then she heard a call from the door bell. Then her phone rang again,

"I'm at your door."

The voice was firm and harsh.

She freaked out. She wasn't expecting anyone. She thought for a while on what to do.

She firstly dialed 119.
