Mr Huffington's Visit

Avero was elated on seeing her dad. She quickly rushed to give him a tight hug.

"How are you? " her father asked her patting her back.

"I am fine dad" She said holding longer to him. It was asif she was scared of letting him go. The gunshots were still resounding in her head. Although she appeared to be tough during the attack deep down she was scared.

"Tell me what happened dear? " Mr Huffington asked with concern in his voice.

"Dad, we were having this game of truth or dare when some gunmen opened fire on the mansion. We don't know where they came from but one of them was caught." She narrated with a shaky voice and tears threatening to burst.

"That is good. Where is he now?

"I don't really know. I over heard Mr Lancaster telling the boys to lock him in a room."

"But dad that's not the surprising thing" she said wiping her tears and her voice turning to whispers.

"What is it dear" Mr Huffington asked in whispers too. He knew when his daughter is about to tell him a secret.

"Guess who saved the situation".

"You know I am bad at guesses but I will say my friend or his oldest son Shaw since they are both good shooters."

"No dad you got it all wrong " Avero said with excitement in her voice.

"It was Sharon."

"Sharon?" He asked with surprise painted on his face.

"How is that possible ? she is just teenager how could she be the one to save the situation."

"I really don't know dad it seems she has some secrets that we are not aware of. She came out shooting like an expert and with no atom of fear."

"Even when she was asked by Mr Lancaster she denied having any previous knowledge of how to shoot a gun".

"That is strange Mr Huffington said striking his beards. I guess we have some digging to do about her."

" I support that dad."

"Alright I want you to rest while I go upstairs to see my friend. I will be back then we will go back home together."

"That is okay with me dad. I have seen too many dramas in the past two days in this house more than I have ever seen since I have been coming here."

"Dramas you say? What happened yesterday?"

"Nothing dad I will tell you when we get home."

She bit her lips for letting that slip out of her tongue. She didn't want to tell her dad anything yet about Dane and herself.

"Alright then I will be back."

With that he walked away to see Mr Lancaster. He could tell his daughter was hiding something from him but he wasn't ready yet to pursue it.

Mr Lancaster heard a knock on his door. He was sitting down thinking of the recent events.

"Come in" he said. He knew it was his friend since Shaw has already informed him about his presence.

"Hey man how are you? "

Mr Huffington asked as he walked in. He took time to notice his friend wasn't in bad shape.

"You look calm as always asif you were never attacked." Mr Huffington tried teasing his friend to lighten his mood.

"There are many questions on my mind pal." Mr Lancaster spoke with a calm but firm voice.

"What are they my friend? " He said sitting close to him.

"Who will have the guts to attack my family right under my nose? " The thought of it is getting me insane. I have always thought everyone feared me and I like it that way. What could have gone wrong? " Mr Lancaster asked facing his friend.

"I hear you have one of the men who attacked you locked up somewhere. I believe that man will have all the answers to your questions." Mr Huffington said patting his friend on the shoulder.

"I will make sure he talks" Mr Huffington added trying to reassure his friend.

"Avero informed me of a strange incident" he spoke this time looking at him directly.

About sharon and how she saved the situation.

"Yes about that I have been thinking about it. I can't explain that. She says she has never shot a gun. I find it hard to believe. I just want to think it is the adrenaline rush due to the situation we had."

"I will suggest you hire a private investigator to check out the activities of her family "Mr Huffington said.

"I don't think that will be necessary. We all knew her dad. He was just a simple gambler with no criminal records."

"I know that, but I suggest you still do that. We need to know if she lied to you or it was mere coincidence. We can never be too careful." Mr Huffington said trying to convince his friend.

"Alright then I will think about it. For now let's go see that piece of shit in the back room. We need answers."
