Chapter XlV: Why can’t we be friends?

Con has his mind set. He wanted Tess so much he couldn’t remember ever wanting someone the same amount. The more Francis said she is a no no, the more he wanted her. And not even just for that, but he loved having her around. She was lovely, a lovely special person.

But he knew neither him nor her were ready for each other. He could feel being with her would be different and special and somehow he did not want to mess that up, by launching in something that, at the moment, it could only be a short fling thing for him.

So he decided to become her friend, the one she enjoys spending time with, the one who is always there, one phone call away. And the timing couldn’t be better. When Mia and Francis will finally hook up, she will be short on two friends, as those two lovebirds won’t leave the nest for a while. So it was the perfect time for him to be there by her side, to gain her trust and her friendship.
