"Save me? Molken please don't joke with me." Soren simply said as he lowered his sword and returned it into its sheath.
"I am not lying to you Soren, I mean my every word, come with me please." Molken said in reply.
"No, I cannot Molken, if I leave, I am risking the lives of all those that I love, the lives of my people, it is impossible for me." Soren replied as he faced Molken and spoke sternly with a heavy heart.
"If you come with me while we still can flee, I shall take you to Swervalor, I will protect you, I promised your brother." Molken said.
"Molken, I understand that you are a very caring friend of mine but I cannot be selfish for my freedom and risk the lives of many innocents.
Both peace and war have been laid before me and I choose peace, it is for the good of us all." Soren replied.
"And why should it be you to sacrifice it all, I am concerned and you have know idea how I feel about this." Molken said.
"But you always stood for me and I appreciate that Molken, we must see that if war is to fall upon us, Swervalor will also be foiled by Scoln and Endra will not be spared either.
I understand every friend would do the same thing that you are doing but this fate is out of my control, it is all beyond my will." Soren said.
"Do not be fooled, when you go to Scoln, do you really think that they will respect you, accord you the honor you deserve.
No matter who you are, you will remain the son of an enemy, something that I doubt the Scolns could ever forget." Molken said.
"And you think that if I come with you things shall be any better, you are the heir to the throne of Swevalor and your people will simply die because of me.
Give me one good reason as to why I should flee with you." Soren spoke sternly trying to get Molken to somehow free himself from this escape plan.
"You have no idea Soren how much I love you." Molken replied.
Soren felt his heart cease to beat after hearing those last three words that flew from Molken's mouth.
"What?" Soren asked for confirmation.
"Yes, you heard me right, I love you." Molken reechoed his words out even louder than he had before.
Soren turned around and moved towards the window.
'Ever since I had the opportunity to see you since I was ten, the only reason I chose to travel with my father all the way here on state banquets and noble parties was because I wanted to see you.
You became the reason behind my every motive, the reason I had to live and that was why I befriended you so that I could simply come closer to you.
The letters I wrote to you, I tried my level best to keep them casual and not pour out my feelings to much but you were the only person I dreamt about Soren.
Sian knew at once since I first met you that I had fallen in love with you, he ensured that you got those letters I sent and I hoped that one day I would travel with my father's acceptance and come to ask for your hand in marriage." Molken said.
"Please stop." Soren said.
"And why should I, you needed a reason and I am letting you know it all Soren, no one can love you more than I do in this world, no one can respect your every desire and passion like I do.
I was so broken when I learnt that they had you betrothed on your birthday against your own will, I was even more shattered when they look at you as some sort of peace treaty and they simply don't need your opinion in deciding your own fate." Molken said.
"I cannot forfeit my people, my loved ones for my own wishes Molken, I cannot lie to you that I love you because sincerely speaking, I only see you as my very good friend and nothing more than that." Soren said as he nearly shed tears.
"So you really are going to keep lying to yourself that it will all be well when it wont.
My people will treat you with respect and honor and dignity, they wont buy you with treasures and dresses.
Listen to me Soren, please for the sake of my love and your freedom, come with me." Molken said.
"I can not do that you know it very well, I wont come with you, you think this is the life that I wanted, always in the spotlight and the public scrutineer.
I cannot tear kingdoms apart and send men to war because I cannot marry the person I don't love, it is even worse when I lie to myself or lie to you that I love you.
My body may want it but my heart cannot accept that lie, I don't want to ruin lives along with yours Molken.
I am so sorry but please, just go and quit this nonsense of yours because I am not sure your people are willing to accept a consort that will calm along with bloodshed and war." Soren said as he turned and faced Molken.
"I cannot leave you here to rot in absolute misery Soren, if you need me to prove my love to you so that you can love me back then I can." Molken said.
"You have to leave me here Molken." Soren replied.
"No, I don't." Molken said as he approached Soren who unsheathed his sword as a reflex and pointed it straight at Molken.
"Stay back and don't dare move another step forward or else I will harm you if I have to." Soren stutteringly spoke.
"I do not care even if I die at the hands of the person that I most certainly love." Molken said as he attempted to try and move another step forward.
"So you don't care about your people then fine, I shall kill myself if I am the cause of all this turmoil in your life." Soren said as he turned the sword to face his own left side of the chest.
"Soren, please don't." Molken said.
"I can just pierce my own heart here and end my life Molken." Soren sternly spoke as he began to shed tears.
"Soren, please don't do this to yourself." Molken said.
"Then you shall have to forgive me that I cannot come with you, save yourself, your people and your crown but please let me be." Soren said.
He had just concluded his speech when his bedroom door was flung open and the light of a lantern colonised the darkness instantly.
It was Gerald who was frozen on his feet when he beheld the two and the very first thing that came to his mind seeing the sword in the Prince's hands was that he was in danger.
"Intruder, intruder." Gerald yelled out loud that guards within the perimeter heard and rushed to the source of the sound.
"I will be back for you Soren, I shall never give up on my love for you." Molken whispered before he veiled his head and cast Gerald aside to make a run for it sure enough that his face was not seen by him.
The guards who rushed into the corridor were sooner followed by Soren's family as Molken disappeared out of view almost like a ghost.
It was a while later as the guards had searched the palace and Soren was in his bedroom with his family members at that very moment.
"Did you see the face of your attacker my dear?" Soren's mother asked.
"No mother." He lied, " it was as soon as he had turned up that Gerald came in." Soren added.
"Thank goodness you were safe." The King said, " the Scolns were not awakened since they are on the opposite end of the palace." He added.
"Do not tell them anything about it father, I am afraid that I do not want anything stopped because of me." Soren said.
"I really get you son but I don't umderstand why would someone attack you?" The King asked.
"Let it be father, I need some rest and I don't want to talk about it." Soren said as he walked and entered his bed.
The rest of the family were already tired and Sian and Sabrina wanted to get back to their sleep.
"We shall leave you to get some rest." Soren's mother said and immediately everyone left the room.
Soren had lied pretty much and he was unable to sleep as he thought about what had happened.
Sure he had had reasons for not running away with Molken who allegedly loved him but even if he didn't, Soren could not help but wonder why his heart was unwilling to flee from his arranged marriage to the Crown Prince of Scoln.

Thank you so much if you are reading this book and enjoying it especially those who are voting it and also commenting about it.
For all the support that you give me I am very grateful and I am also open to any ideas of a cover for this book.
This book may contain a lot of manxman but it is so because that is the basis of the entire story, an Lgbt royal fiction.
I hope you can bear with me and remember to vote and follow as this story is unedited by the way.
Sincerely
~Soren Diagle~
