"They are here," she told Manos, the officer in charge at the station.
"well lets hope she can be of help," Manos replied in her rusty voice. You could tell that she was old, several hundred if not thousands of years old at least.
She had short blonde hair, blonde in the tune of white and not gold. It was not straight or all that shaggy, at least a little bit of both.
" i doubt that she will cooperate with us, let alone give us any ships or aldum."Lexa made sure not to get her hopes up as they lookes at the monitor as the shuttle landed.
" She can keep her aldum for all i care, i just want her ships in this system, all her ships in the thousands to protect us from the blight." she affirmed.
Soon as the ship was on the ground, they got up and walked to the interogation room. The station functioned like a millitary base, without the acknowledgement of rank from the employees. Everyone knew what they were supposed to do and if not, a contact lens with micro computer did the job.
At the base everyone who got in was supposed to submit a blood sample for screening. They couldn't take any risk with alien or even a contagious pathogen, not since the Europa disaster where a new strain of the cold killed 500,000 people. The pathogens had become so strong that scientists used them to study new ways to immortality.
A minute of walking and they get to the room behind a one way glass and sat down to wait.
They were seated for a few seconds when a soldier informed them that there was a commotion at the top.
"Go handle it," Lexa was instructed and stood up and left to see what all the fuss was about.
As soon as the shuttle was on the ground, officers were with them in air tight suits to take their blood samples. The results came in almost immediately as the samples were placed in a scanner that buzzed for a few seconds.
After they were cold clean they were administered a vaccine after which they were directed to decontamination. They were all indifferent with demeanors that implied that the prisoners had given up to their fate. A shower of the decontaminant that evaporated immediately an they were in.
"Well take it from here," said the soldier with orders from Manos to take Julia to interogation, which was a few floors down.
Oliver stood between the big guy and Julia and stared up at the big guy. Oliver was about 6'1 staring at a 6'9 monstrosity of a man.
" Do you have my bounty?" he asked him.
He looked straight into his brown eyes waiting for a respond. The man took a deep breath in and out and rubbed the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger.
"Whats wrong with you bounty huntets and all this paranoia. Do you really think that we wouldn't pay you. You and your band of clowns need to calm your tits down." The man said grabbing Julia by the arm.
Was that the smell of disrespect in the air, around Oliver. Someone was about to get liquid diet for a month with their jaw shut.
"Oliver was in every bit impulsive and his behavior was rubbing of on Arielle. Oliver held the hand of the guy and pushed it of Julia. The guy was more irrational and impulsive than Oliver and swung at him first landing a punch on the side of Oliver's face making his ear numb.
Oliver had not reacted when Ari jumped on to the guy locking his head between her thighs and swinging her body to bring the guy down. When the guy tried to get up, Oliver punched him into oblivion and he passed out.
It all happened so fast, the soldiers around pointed their guns at them and ordered them to stand down. Then the elevator doors opened and out came lexa, her hair on her forehead, with banks Ariele tried to perfect in normal clothing that stood out in the base, apart from Olivers.
Everyone was quiet.
Julia locked eyes with her as she talked and everyone, no matter how little you knew about human interaction could feel the palpable tension. You could tell that they didn't like each other in the slightest.
"I see you boys have had your fun," she said and while still looking at Julia, everyone else was calm.
"The bounty has to be booked for the bank to proceed with the payment," she spoke up for everyone to hear.
This was part of the reason why no one liked working for the government. A whole lot of procedures and soldiers and cops that feel like they can do whatever it is you just did on a monthly salary.
Oliver raised his hands for all of them to hear, as if the gesture in any way increased the volume if the sound or level of comprehension.
"Alright, lets all go to bounty department," Arielle who is normally quiet exclaimed.
You could tell there was somewhere she needed to be. So did Oliver.
They got to bounty and Julia, Jinie and chad were taken in for verification. Now they had to wait outside for the whole process to be done with.
"So the missles?" Lexa asked.
"Don't try and change the subject," Oliver looked at her with concern.
"What subject, I've literally just started talking," lexa replied raising one eyebrow.
"You know what were are talking about." Ari was having none of the jokes.
"We could have killed her," Oliver said looking at Lexa.
"But you didn't," lexa with a witty reply.
They all just stared at her not saying a word as if waiting for her to realise the error of ther ways. She did realise the error of her ways.
"Okay, there is a milky bar in parks city, and not the one with the androids stripping, the other regular one, meet me there in about four hours and I'll explain everything." lexa told them.
"fine," Oliver moved aiside as Julia was handed to lexa.
"place your eye on the scanner," the man said to Oliver after which the contact lens in a hologram only he could see indicated all credits had been transferred.
"we'll talk later," Oliver said as he left.
