Chapter 8: Huntress

The woman in the purple and black uniform entered the chaotic underground shopping mall and quickly approached the source of the chaos through the night vision goggles. The female voice responsible for remote assistance in the mask's headset reminded her: "Attention, huntress, your target has entered from the power distribution room. It is moving to a lower level. It should enter the generator room by now. Its location is sent to the display of your mask."

"Awesome, why do freaks always like dangerous places?"

The woman called the huntress grumbled and quickly followed the instructions to find the door with a lightning symbol that symbolized danger, and skillfully opened the door lock and stepped inside.

She took a deep breath, raised twelve minutes of attention, and slowly descended along the dark escalator. Various shocking scratches were left on the outer wall, and a vague low growl was heard deep underground. The sound waves reflected multiple times in the confined space to form multiple echoes, which made the heart hairy.

The huntress went down to the generator room, holding the door handle in one hand, and drew out a foldable composite golden crossbow from the outside of her snow-white thigh. She took a deep breath, pushed the door open almost silently inch by inch, and moved in cautiously.

"The heat signal indicates that it is in this room. It may be hidden in any corner." The voice in the headset reminded, "Be careful, Huntress. The feedback showed that the target is very fast and the power may be quite large."

The huntress did not respond. She held her breath, her bright and shrewd eyes behind the night-vision goggles scanned everything that was going on like a precision instrument.

Then suddenly, she turned around abruptly, and the crossbow in her hand was "swiped" across a perfect 180-degree arc and pointed to the back. The special alloy arrow on the crossbow was just pointing at it. The tip of a person's nose.

The two sides stopped at the same time, and the huntress kept her bow and crossbow on each other's nose for about three to five seconds. The two were motionless like two sculptures in the dark.

The huntress could see through the night-vision goggles—it was a man, or maybe a boy was more accurate. He was wearing a dark blue hood. Although he was a head taller than the Huntress, his face showed the childishness of a young man who had not completely taken off. He looked like a scholar.

This naturally followed Jay from the source of the commotion. When he met this beauty unexpectedly, his eyes lit up and he recognized the identity of the other party. He remembered that the huntress's original name seemed to be Helena, a superhero in dc comics. She was once a member of the Batman team. She specializes in lurking and hunting, just like her code name.

This should be regarded as the first local superhero Jay has seen in this world, and I can't help but feel a little excited about it.

The huntress frowned, which was obviously not the situation explained in her task manual. She asked: "Who are you?"

"This was asked from a girl wearing a mask and a cloak." Jay asked back. "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

"Huntress, was dispatched to deal with the emergency situation here." She said, "It's very dangerous here, you shouldn't..."

As if to respond to her words of "danger", she only said half of these words, and a bunch of fuzzy things whizzed along with the invisible cyclone. As soon as Jay's pupils closed, he couldn't help but stepped forward and pushed the Huntress to the ground. The cold sharp object swept across the two scalps, leaving deep scratches on the dark green shell of a heavy machine.

The huntress reacted equally quickly, even if she realized that the enemy was close at hand. This hairy boy looked very clever, and had to find a way to deal with the enemy on the basis of ensuring his safety.

Yes, she has temporarily acquiesced Jay as an "innocent citizen who strayed into the minefield", and it became her duty to protect his safety.

She bounced up flexibly, stretched out an arm to protect Jay behind her, and at the same time yelled "Get back" to him. The enemy just fell into the air with a ferocious pounce, and turned around at this time, and seemed quite annoyed. Only then did the huntress see what kind of enemy she was facing—it was two heads as high as hers, and was covered with white scales. It has blood red eyes, sharp claws in its hands, and white jagged gums in its mouth.

Disgusting guy.

The huntress took a breath. She had information that the target this time was a difficult inhuman creature, but she didn't expect it to be so exaggerated. She had to admit that she was a little frightened, so that the opponent's paws had been raised above her head, and she realized that she should dodge.

She turned and rolled a little embarrassed, the monster's fierce claws tore a corner of her cloak, followed by a sharp turn to continue chasing her. The huntress jumped up, avoiding the catch and dexterously managed to turn to the back of the opponent, her feet resting on the opponent's shoulders. She took out two small electrodes from the multifunctional belt, and slammed them on the temples on both sides of the monster-or the parts that should correspond to the temples, because she didn't know whether the creature had temples.

It seemed that she was blindfolded, and the dazzling blue current was violently released from the electrodes, like a fleeting lightning that briefly illuminates the dark room. The monster let out a roar similar to a groan from its throat, and slapped the huntress off his shoulder. Her cloak puffed up in the air, and when it flew out, it looked like a bat with its wings spread.

She banged the door of a voltmeter in her back, and fell heavily to the ground, looking a little painful. The white monster didn't mean to pity and cherish the jade at all. It flew again without giving the slightest room to breathe, just like an extremely hungry jackal.

The huntress's pupils shrank, and she rolled around cleverly. The next moment the monster slammed on the floor where she was just now, and the sharp claws caught directly through the metal floor. It raised its head, its bloody eyes quickly repositioned the location of its prey, and pulled out its claws like steel knives to try to get closer. The huntress sat on the floor and consciously pulled away from it quickly, while raising the crossbow and pulling the trigger. The arrow shot out with a "swish", and the whirling beast rope firmly bound the feet of the monster who was about to step forward. The white monster suddenly lost his balance and fell to the ground, but still raised his head and roared at her in protest.

After the huntress shouted "Quit", Jay obediently folded his arms to the side and watched how this "professional" handled the problem. Although she has always been passive because of the far difference between her power and the opponent, as an ordinary human without superpowers, she has shown her combat literacy really worthy of admiration.

It would be better if she can handle it without having to do it herself, but depending on the current situation, she still has to do it herself.

When Jay thought about it, the huntress happened to throw the beast rope to make the monster lose balance and fall to the ground. She rolled over and got up, turned around without hesitation, couldn't help but took Jay's hand and ran back.

Jay didn't react in an instant: "Hey, wait...wait..."

"The beast trap won't keep it long." The huntress said in a very serious tone while dragging him to speed, "Let's go quickly!"

Uh...wait, sister, aren't you a professional who makes a special trip to solve problems?
