Chapter 96: End of Term

Three months later, in Metropolis, it was nearly nine in the morning.

The loud sirens and the robbers rushing into the bank sounded like the beginning of a rather ordinary day for the metropolis. Six gangsters wearing high-tech combat uniforms rushed into the hall arrogantly, and shot the guards armed with guns with a weapon capable of releasing special pulses, and then swept a long one toward the ceiling from the mouth of the machine gun hidden in the armour's wrist. Strings of bullets threatened the hall but everyone fell on the floor.

The two of them were divided into three groups, one group stayed at the door to watch the wind, another group was in the hall to guard the hostages, and the last group was responsible for opening the vault door and stuffing as much money as possible into their bags. Generally speaking, they need bank managers to help them open the door of the vault, but these gangsters do not. They directly showed a high-power laser gun, which was nearly two meters long. They cut the door of the vault with a high-temperature blue laser, and then used some kind of tractor beam on the arm armor to tear off the cut metal plate, and artificially made a charred entrance.

These days, without any high-tech or superpowers, I am embarrassed to come out to rob.

"The action is neat." The robber in front of the vault door pinned the laser gun to his back, and walked into the vault with the bag. "The big blue guy is towing an icebreaker in Antarctica at the moment. That shouldn't cost him too much. Long."

This is true, Superman is indeed still in the South Pole at the moment, but this does not mean that they can sit back and relax.

The red and blue afterimage swept through the end of the street like a hurricane, rushing into the bank hall with the whistling wind.

In the first second, the two gangsters who held the door were blasted into the hall without any chance of reacting. One smashed the number calling machine in the hall, and the other flew over the heads of the hostages lying on the ground and embedded deeply. In the wall, sparks went straight on the sunken armor.

In the second second, a gangster guarding the hostages shot a blue energy ball with his high-tech equipment towards the blurry afterimage that flashed into the hall, but was slapped back by the latter, and burst a shock wave. Overturned the gangster to the ground.

In the third second, the gangster at the door of the vault picked up the laser gun at his feet, but he had not had time to turn the muzzle. The man had been thrown together with another of his accomplices. The laser gun in his hand was somehow lost. They were taken away, the barrel of the gun was broken into an arc and they were tied together. The head and tail of the gun were melted into one body at high temperature, and they couldn't get rid of no matter how hard they struggled.

In the fourth second, Jay who broke into the hall stopped and his eyes fell on the last gangster not far away. The latter swiftly picked out a beautiful girl who looked only seventeen or eighteen years old from the hostages and hugged it in his arms, and put the muzzle on the girl's head. The girl trembled with fright, she didn't dare to get out of the air, her watery eyes looked at the new Superman with fear and expectation. That was her last hope for a safe escape.

Jay stepped forward, and the gangster took the girl a step back in a hurry, and cried out in horror: "Don't come here!"

The heart rate was soaring, and his arms were still trembling. Obviously, although the last robber pretended to be extremely cruel, he was actually scared to the extreme in his heart. He tried his best to calm himself gasping like a bull, and yelled, "Don't come here! Otherwise I will treat this girl..."

Maybe let him go on, he might play some tricks different from the average gangster, but Jay didn't want to continue listening. This guy's half sentence stopped abruptly here, turning into a violent grunt and a striking sound similar to metal collision. The kidnapped girl only felt that a hurricane moved her hair in her ears, and the guy behind her disappeared. Everyone saw that guy ran across the hall in embarrassment, breaking glass and rolling down on the sidewalk.

His armor can protect him alive, but Jay also made sure that all the functions of that armor set were scrapped under this punch. Jay clapped his hands: "I'm sorry, but I'm in a hurry today."

The rescued hostages burst into cheers, and the little girl who had escaped from the dead pulled his cloak tightly. Although she was too excited to say a complete sentence, she refused to let him go. Jay got rid of the eager crowd as quickly as possible and flew out of the hall, leaving a blast that broke through the sound barrier in mid-air.

As said before-he is in a hurry. The new Superman who saved this day bravely and handsomely soars into the sky, leaving a handsome back...flying straight to the final exam examination room, which is about to be late in one minute.

Yes, today is unfortunately the day of his last exam this semester, and he is about to be late.

In fact, since the return of the real Superman three months ago, this situation has almost never happened again. Although there were many doubts at first, people quickly accepted and believed the fact that the real Superman returned to the Metropolis, which also meant that Jay's workload as the new Superman was greatly reduced. Superman will resolve most incidents, unless someone else happens to be towing an icebreaker in Antarctica like today, then Jay may need to do it for him.

The "Stone of Eternity" was sealed by Superman into his lonely fortress and became part of those countless dangerous alien collections. But even with the Kryptonian technology in his lonely fortress, it seems unable to analyze the operation mode and origin of these space-time energy bodies. They can only be sealed in a special enclosed space, which can at least prevent them from causing space-time chaos and confusion. Come something like Destruction Day or even worse.

Jay feels that the world doesn't really need the new Superman. The Reynolds and his wife once said that the time when he happened to appear in the world and lost Superman must be deliberately arranged by God, so now it seems that he thinks that the position God arranged for him must be a temporary agency, just like when the school principal is away, he temporarily went up. As a substitute, the principal will be fine when he comes back.

It is also possible that Superman is right-the world has arranged another important position for him, and he just needs to discover it. But who knows the future? For now, Jay only knows that he can focus more on his private life. For example, his grades in all subjects so far this semester are "a", which makes him even more determined that he does not want to be in the last one. In the course of the exam, there was something about Yaozi's determination, so he rushed to his examination room even more quickly.

In the end, it was a little late. Fortunately, the invigilator didn't embarrass him or asked him why he was in the bathroom for so long. He took the test paper to find a seat and quickly entered the answering state.

There is no difficulty in the exam itself. He is no surprise that he became an examinee who completed the exam paper in the entire exam room. When he handed in the answer sheet, the professor's rigid face showed a rare gentle smile, which is an award that only outstanding students can get. . When the answer sheet was submitted, Jay was very sure that he got the last a of the semester.

But his roommate was obviously out of luck. Mike's last exam ended in the afternoon, and the result was clearly written on his face when he walked into the dormitory door, obviously not like "everything is going well".

Before he could speak, Jay asked, "Let me guess, fight again next year?"

"Fight again next year." Mike sat down on his bed discouragedly and lay down softly, "I don't want to think about anything anymore, I just want to sleep well... and then go home on holiday."

If they had just met, Jay might have been fooled by his unrequited appearance, but the relationship this semester has allowed him to understand the personality of his thick-line roommate. He even made a bet that in half an hour, this guy would throw his disturbing grades aside like a okay person, and begin to figure out how he would spend the holiday.

The facts quickly proved that Jay still underestimated his roommate's ability to adjust. It seemed that it only took him a few minutes to step out of the trough, suddenly sat up, and asked: "Hey, what day do you plan to go back? ?"

"Next week, I plan to go home after this weekend."

"Me too. Why don't we go out and have fun this weekend? For example, electric?"

"Sounds pretty good." Jay shrugged. "But forget it, I have some other arrangements."

"Other arrangements?" Mike raised his eyebrows, jumped out of the bed swiftly, and leaned on Jay's table, like a hound smelling something, "Seriously, what do you usually do? If you don't play video games or watch movies as far as I know, don't you have any hobbies? I mean...other than studying?"

Jay scratched his head: "Um... it doesn't seem to be true."

"You must be joking, so you must have a way to spend your free time? For example, on weekends, I see you rarely stay here on weekends, where did you go?"

weekend? Let me think about it...Take last weekend as an example. I caught a white-collar worker who committed suicide from a viaduct, stopped a truck with brake failure, and maybe even hugged it from a tree. A cute brown-haired kitten. And this is just because most of the larger businesses have been taken over by the Superman who has returned to the Metropolis. Otherwise, I might be towing the icebreaker in Antarctica this morning, and I might miss the last exam of the semester.

Of course, this was just thinking about it, he couldn't really say that.

"It's nothing, just go around." Jay spread his hands. "Look, I'm really not a very interesting person, except that sometimes I might spend some time with Cara..."

"Ah! You reminded me, your beautiful girlfriend." Mike made a sudden expression, "Look, this is the difference between you and me. You have a best girlfriend to accompany, but I don't have one, no wonder... ...Forget it, I suddenly don't want to talk to you anymore, I feel that I will continue to be violently attacked if this continues."

After speaking, he really sat back on the bed, turned his back and made an appearance of "no more attention". But that only lasted for thirty seconds, and he turned his head like he couldn't help it: "Well, I still have to ask a more important question-how did you... catch such a beautiful Your sister?"

Jay said that if you and she happen to be the only two endangered species left in the universe, it is not difficult at all.

"I don't know. But I think this kind of thing should be the same-let it go." Jay said, "When you should meet the right person, you will know it."

"Well, it seems to make sense, but how do I feel that it makes people even more irritating to hear you?"

"..."

"Well, let's not talk about this for now." Mike turned back from the bed, "What about tonight? The first night of the holiday, partying is customary. How about going out late for supper?"

"Sounds not bad." Jay said, thinking for a moment, and then added: "But I have to speak first-this time I will never go to'that shop' again, never."
