Chapter 95: Chunin Exams: Main Event Commences!

Today was a bright sunny day, much like any other day of summer.
But, what separated this day from the others was the day's importance.
After all, today was the main event of the Chunin Exams!
Today, Konoha was in a festive mood, as many dignitaries, rich merchants, and even the commoners were arriving at the Stadium en masse.
The galleries were slowly being filled with the commoners, while the Dignitaries took their spots in their designated positions.
Everyone was here for the same reason.
To watch the main events of the Chunin Exams!
The commoners were mainly here for entertainment and to see Ninjas in action. While the dignitaries were here for a different purpose.
They were here to judge the values of the new generation of Ninjas of each village. They were here to scrutinize the value and power of said villages, so that they can either employ them or let them go.
They were the customers, the patrons of the Ninjas. And today they were here to find the best service for themselves.
And so before 10 am, most of the galleries were filled to the brim. The VIP areas were filling up slowly as well.
Everyone was excitedly chattering about the upcoming exam. Many civilians were talking about the big clan children that will fight.
Many of the Konoha citizens were rooting for the Hyuga Heiress, who was also their beloved prince's girlfriend.
Most of them wished that Hyuga Hinata would win today. That showed how much they appreciated and accepted her.
The other part was mainly filled with fan girls who wanted their Sasuke-kun to win.
And among the civilian gallery stood 3 friends.
"Who do you think will win?" Asked a pink-haired Kunoichi.
"Is that even a question?" "Ruff!" A boy with a dog inside his jacket asked with a sarcastic smirk.
"Well, you don't know that! Sasuke-kun has been doing special training with Kakashi-sensei. Last I heard, he even managed to perfect sensei's Jutsu!" The girl tried to defend her crush.
"Still won't matter. Why? Because Hinata has been training with Mitsu. And that is enough to deduce that she will be stronger. Why? Mitsu is just that good a teacher. Look at all of us." The boy with a sunglass interjected.
"Grrr… What Shino said… Sakura… You should stop looking at everything with your glass-tinted look. I have seen you accept reality already, and yet you regress back when it's a matter about the Tsundere-princess. Didn't Haku make you show reality already?" Kiba said with a bit of annoyance.
"You… You are right, Kiba-kun… I am sorry… I don't know why I do this… But yes, she did… I can't believe Haku-san was that strong while being so pretty." Sakura lamented.
Shino and Kiba shared a look as they both shuddered in fear, remembering one beautiful smiling ice princess, as they slowly looked towards the VIP area.
There they could see Daimyos of the land of Fire and Land of Wind, along with many other high nobles.
"He hasn't arrived yet?" Kiba asked.
"He won't arrive there yet. Why? Because he will spend as much time as he can with Hinata before coming." Shino responded.
The other two nodded.
And while they were talking in the Kage's viewing box, Senju Tsunade, the Godaime-Hokage arrived with 4 other Kage's by her side.
They all took their seat, and their guards stood behind them.
It was Tsunade who spoke first, "Raikage A, how are your prosthetics working?"
A grumbled as he tried to move the prosthetics to the best of his ability, "They are usable… But I need to refine better Chakra strings to use them perfectly. I thank you again for the surgery and healing, my brother." At the end, his voice turned soft as he thanked Tsunade.
Tsunade smiled a bit and looked towards the crowd, "No need to mention it, Raikage-dono. But do abide by the prescription. I won't care if you are a Kage or not, as my patient, if you don't follow the prescription, I will smack you."
A only grumbled and muttered something about violent women.
Tsunade ignored him and looked at Mei, "Has Water Daimyo-dono arrived yet?"
Mei sighed, then made a helpless smile, "Hiromu-sama is probably with Mitsu-sama right now… They are good friends…"
Tsunade understood what she meant and only nodded.
It was then the 15 Genin walked into the stadium.
Onoki had a sad visage as he watched the young ninjas. He exclaimed sadly, "Sigh… Not a single of my children made it. It would have been wonderful to see them here."
Rasa snorted, "You sent 2 teams of Ringers, and they still failed! You should be glad that none of them made it. Or it would be humiliating."
Onoki got mad and wanted to shout, but a cheer from the crowd shut him up as he looked down to see what happened, only for him to raise his eyes upwards.
Tsunade looked as well and groaned when she saw what everyone was starting at… She started nursing her forehead to let go of her frustration.
"That… Brat…"
Mei, on the other hand, gave a full-blown laughter as she watched the 'Great' debacle. She felt like Déjà vu at the moment.
While the Ninja behind Tsunade did his best not to laugh out loud when he noticed everyone's reactions.
He controlled himself, before he said to Tsunade softly, "Mitsu-kun sure knows how to garner everyone's attention."
Tsunade didn't look amused.
"That brat needs a spanking! Go and see what he is up to, Shisui."
"Aww, come on! Let him be. He isn't hurting anyone." Shisui interjected, but Tsunade simply gave him a glare, but nodded.
While that was happening, in the arena, all the Genin and onlookers stared at the new Gigantic Tree that suddenly grew in the middle with Awe.
"Are you seeing what I am seeing, Shika?" Naruto, who was standing beside Shikamaru, asked in disbelief.
"So troublesome…" Shikamaru groaned.
"Mitsu-kun… sure knows how to make an entrance…" Ino spoke, still gaping at the tree.
"This tree is bigger than the flower he created in Kiri." Chojuro added.
Hinata didn't say anything, but there was a blush on her face as she saw everyone cheering her boyfriend. She gets really happy when others realize how amazing her Mitsu-kun is.
Gaara had a contemplating look as he stared at Mitsu.
The other Genin could only stare wide-eyed at the tree.
But, what made the crowd cheer was what, or rather who was on top of the tree.
On one of the tree branches stood Mitsu, with another boy around his age who was wearing rather expensive clothes. Behind them stood Haku wearing a beautiful Blue Kimono, and Fuse wearing his Jonin Gear.
Mitsu took in everyone's sight as he put chakra in his voice and started,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Grannies and Gramps, Perverted Sage and his dilated Cramps!-"
That part made a certain toad Sanin spit out his drink as he shouted, "HEY!!"
"-I welcome you all to Konohagakure, the beautiful village hidden in the leaves!
And with the birth of this shade-providing tree, I offer you the hospitality, protection, and friendship of our great village. Let comradery between us bloom with this tree.
Let this symbolize our unity, as each leaf symbolizes all of us, connected by our newfound alliances, friendship, and comradery, much like the branches connecting all the nations together in this one massive body.
Let us build a firm foundation through today's event, like the roots that help us all stand tall.

*LOUD CHEER AND APPLAUSE*
People were frantically clapping as they shouted things like,
"Holy shit! Did you see that? Did you see that?"

On the Kage's stand, everyone was stupefied.
Mei was the first one who spoke with clear mirth in her tone, "Mitsu-kun, sure knows how to make things interesting."
"Sigh… Why do I even bother with the brat?" Tsunade said that, but there was a smirk hanging on her lips.
Onoki couldn't believe what he was seeing. Yes, he had heard the rumors, but those were only rumors after all.
"So he really has the gift…" Onoki felt bitter.
Rasa said nothing, but nodded in approval.
While A had a complicated look.
Other than them, their guards were staring at the debacle owlishly.
In the galleries,
"Sigh… I actually doubted it when you told me before Kakashi and Asuma…" Guy said with a surprised tone.
"Well… Why would we lie to you?" Asuma asked with a raised brow. But Guy wasn't listening anymore and stared at the tree.
But after he heard the speech Mitsu gave, he seemed to gain new energy as he shouted, "What a YOUTHFUL speech! YOUTH!"
While the others simply shook their head.
In the VIP watch box, all the dignitaries were in disbelief.
It was especially true for the Fire Daimyo.

After the dignitaries heard the speech Mitsu gave, some of them nodded in approval, while the others had contemplative looks.
There were 2 old men who had appreciative and moist eyes as they heard a speech that relit their burning wills.
On the other VIP box that was designated for the female dignitaries or the dignitaries' wives, a proud mother and proud sister sat as they watched their Son/Brother awe the whole arena.
"Hahaha, Mit-chan sure knows how to get everyone's attention, doesn't he?" Madam Shijimi asked with a proud smile.
"He is my brother after all!" Hakune stated. Behind her, the beautiful maid also nodded happily, it was Yukina.
From their side, one young girl and one young lady spoke as well, "Mitsu-kun is really amazing, Shijimi-Obasama. I still remember how he inspired me to take back my lands." It was Koyuki who spoke.
"Mitsu-Niisama is amazing!" Suzu said with stars in her eyes.
Seeing the little girl fangirling of her adoptive brother, the other women all laughed.
While similar conversations were occurring everywhere in the galleries, Mitsu spoke again,
"Thank you for your appreciation. Now! We have 15 wonderful young Ninjas among us, who are ready to show their worth. So without further ado, let's start the Main Events!
From here, Fuse Daisuke, a proud Jonin of Konoha, will coordinate the events! Thank you!"
Saying so, he with Haku and Hiromu flickered to the VIP box. Where Haku bowed before leaving for the other VIP box for the females.
Mitsu then greeted the stunned dignitaries in the box and took his seat with Hiromu.
He could feel his brother glaring at him, because Mitsu didn't even bother looking at him, and had a seat in the same row as the Daimyos, which simply stated that his status was higher.
But no one complained, not even Yashiro himself. He simply couldn't after the previous display.
The Wind Daimyo gave Mitsu a scrutinizing look, which Mitsu didn't even bother with, and simply greeted him with a smile.
The Fire Daimyo was happy to see his son, and started talking to him happily about mundane matters.
Meanwhile, in the arena,
Fuse flickered down and stood in front of the 15 Genins as he looked at them with his unnerving dead-fish eyes.
Seeing that everyone was present, he started,
"You have all passed the first 2 tests to get here. And now this is your stage to show the world what you are made of. I hope none of you are getting cold feet!"
No one responded and kept on looking at Fuse directly in the eye.
Seeing that Fuse smiled and stated loudly,
"Very well! I shall start with the rules of the Main Events! Say your prayers and get ready to put your lives on the line!"

Land of Stone, Land of Lightning, Land of Water, Takugakure

While the main events of the Chunin Exams were starting, the members of Akatsuki were getting started with their own mission.
In Land of Stone, the Six Paths of Pain appeared to take custody of the fourth and fifth tails' Jinchuriki's.
In the Land of Lightning, Orochimaru and Hiroku were preparing to kidnap the two tails' Jinchuriki.
In Takigakure, Konan and Zetsu were ready to claim the seven tail's Jinchuriki.
And finally, in the Land of Water, Madara and the Jashin worshiper got in position to take on the Six Tails' Jinchuriki.
They all had their orders. And the moment the clock hit 11, they made their move.

It didn't take them long to capture their targets…
This was a huge operation by the Akatsuki. Something that will shake the whole Elemental nations to the core.
Akatsuki, the mercenary group, had finally bared their fangs and declared to the world…
That they were strong enough to attack the main villages and kidnap their greatest weapons.

This wasn't such a simple declaration.
