"Yo- You! Don't move!" Ten people stepped out from the crowd of people who were preparing to run. Looking at their uniform's Shen saw they were students from Beacon. They looked scared out of their wit's but at the same time, they didn't run.
They didn't know who Shen was but their instincts were warning them he was dangerous. After all, he just took such a massive fall with zero injuries. In beacon, every student puts their weapons in lockers that can be deployed like rockets.
With a single press of a button, Shen watched as something came flying through the air before crashing next to them. Each of them quickly opened their individual lockers grabbing their weapons preparing for a fight. Seeing them trying to contain their fear Shen could only laugh.
"Sorry, but I won't be fighting with you." All ten of them were taken back by Shen's words but didn't have a chance to react. The air around Shen for over a hundred feet was immediately charged with electricity. It was hardly noticeable and at best would only cause a bit of static. However paired with Karmic Retribution, it became another matter.
The citizens who were watching didn't know what had happened, but all of a sudden the ten students suddenly froze. Their eyes went dull as if they were in a trance, and it looked as if their body was rapidly aging. Two seconds later, they collapsed to the ground, not moving an inch.
They had died, and the perpetrator hadn't even taken a step forward. This caused their eyes to widen as they immediately began to run. Anyone who had been frozen in shock or was still confused by the situation instantly began to move. Their fight or flight instinct immediately kicked into only flight mode.
…
Back in Beacon Academy, Glynda had already blown off the sealed doors of the hall and dealt with Shen's people who had been pretending to be staff. The students were shaken up and Ozpin frowned as he saw the airships along the city's horizon. Things weren't good that was clear.
"Professor Ozpin, what should we do?" Ruby along with the rest of Team RWBY ran up to him, at the same time the other students looked towards him as well. They were at loss of how to deal with this kind of situation. Ozpin took a deep breath and thought to himself for a moment with his eyes closed.
'If my guess is correct he's after the Maiden and possibly the Relic. Does this mean he's already made contact with Salem?' He frowned at the thought but immediately shook his head. That didn't matter right now considering the problem was at their front door.
'The most important thing is to keep the Vault hidden and Maiden safe. I can't leave them unguarded or else, especially if the Relic of Knowledge is compromised.' Ozpin's brain ran at full throttle as he thought to himself. Soon his eyes opened back up as he began to speak.
"Keeping you all here is impossible at this point, our only choice is to fight. Team RWBY along with Ren, Nora, and Jaune will group together. The other senior teams will go out into the city and help as many people as possible. Bring them back here to safety, but don't risk your own lives."
"Team CFVY will stay here and with the junior students and protect the academy and the CCTS Tower." Some students were surprised at how serious the headmaster was being, but clearly, the situation must warrant it. After speaking Ozpin's tone shifted as he looked over everyone there.
"I wanted to give a speech earlier in the hall, but we don't have time for it now. None of you are officially Huntsman yet, nor is your training complete. But a large number of you came here with the will to overcome struggles and help people. Still, you are all children so If any of you are too scared to and wish to leave, I will not blame you."
His words echoed in everyone's ears yet every student stood in their place.
"Of course we're not going to run. Vale is our home and so is Beacon Academy, we are not going to stand here and watch it get destroyed." Yang was the first to speak up with Ruby and Weiss following behind her.
"Yang's right, we can't abandon Vale like this."
"I'll happily fight to keep Beacon safe."
Team CFVY along with Jaune, Ren, and Nora plus other students joined in. Blake was the only one who remained silent, however, no one seemed to notice. Her eyes were locked onto Ozpin and if one looked closely they could see her eyes contained a flash of bloodlust, like a lioness preparing to pounce.
Unaware Ozpin could only sigh with a slight smile before speaking.
"Alright then, go and prove you're all worthy of being future Huntsman!" With that, the students sprang into action. As they did so Ozpin turned to Glynda.
"We can't move the Maiden, but we can move the Relic. That man should be somewhere in the city, try to find him and stall their leader for time." Glynda nodded as she began making her way off towards the city.
At the same time, Ozpin turned and began to travel towards the deeper sections of Beacon Academy, where the maiden was being kept.
…
Roughly an hour had passed since his arrival. Shen had already put his army to work. Those who were already hidden inside of the city of Vale crushed its infrastructure. At the same time, his external forces surrounded the city and were slowly moving inwards towards Beacon Academy.
Casually walking through the streets of the city as everything continued around him, Shen heard someone's voice.
"So you're the person responsible for all the craziness happening in the world lately?" Shen's brows raised slightly as he saw a black feather slowly fall in front of him. His eyes glazed over as he shifted his weight quickly turning around. At the same time, he held out his hand as the Life Fiber's in his body shot out.
They intertwined with one another and solidified, forming a physical sword in his hand. The Life Fiber Blade clashed with the metal of a sword causing sparks to fly. When Shen saw the person holding the sword he smiled as he swung.
The force of the swing caused the attacker to be sent flying back over fifty feet. Still, they recovered quickly, landing with minimal effort.
"Well if it isn't Qrow. I didn't expect you to be here in Vale, with the Vytal Festival so far off." A man with slicked-back hair and pinkish eyes observed Shen. He was wearing a grey dress shirt and black slacks. One could almost mistake him for a formal character if they didn't know anything about him.
"I suppose I should be honored to know about me?" A tattered red cloak trailed behind him as he rubbed his head sarcastically.
"Of course not, in fact, I'm glad you're here. I was thinking that Glynda Goodwitch wouldn't be enough, but with you and all the other Beacon Academy students as my hostages, things will be going a lot smoother." Hearing Shen's words especially when he mentioned Glynda, Qrows expression turned more serious.
"You're already attacking Mistral, yet you still managed to attack Vale as well. Sounds like your people are being kept quite busy." No normal army would be able to move like this. They needed food, water, and an inflow of resources along with the proper command to function no matter how skilled.
But with Shen's Ultima Uniforms on the Faunus and the Syndicate Members under his control, he didn't need to worry about that. Their loyalty was absolute and they would act with one hundred percent efficiency. Food and water along with natural living requirements were of no issue to them.
"Well, I plan on getting rid of Atlas and Vacuo within the year. So no worries about us being too tired." Qrow's eyes seemed to grow darker as he suddenly rushed towards Shen. Clearly, those words had given him more than enough incentive to stop Shen right there and now.
'Impressive, he's as fast or maybe even faster than his sister Raven. But still…' Closing the distance between them Qrow swung his large bladed sword. The blade itself was segmented and was capable of transforming between its blade mode and that of a scythe.
Yet despite him putting in so much strength Shen countered by simply positioning his Life Fiber Blade. Qrow's eyes widened as he felt as if he had just chopped into a block of steel. Despite all the force he was exerting he couldn't take a step forward. Shen's arm didn't even tremble from the impact.
"How are you…" Qrow's words mixed with grunts of him struggling to move forward. Shen stared at him and answered.
"Simple, I'm just stronger than you." Qrow's eyes contracted as Shen brushed off his sword, knocking him off balance and leaving him open to attack. His entire body twisted as he kicked Qrow directly in the chest sending him hurtling down the street.
Bending his knees slightly Shen gave chase. His entire body transformed into a mix of a humanoid and lightning, not even a blur was left behind. Making up the hundred-meter difference between him and Qrow in less than a second.
Qrow couldn't react as Shen grabbed his arm forcing him to stop. Yanking him like a ragdoll Shen used his arm as a handle and slammed him into the street. Against Qrow's body, the tarmac street immediately shattered creating a ten-foot crater.
"You were planning on fighting me on your own right? I can safely say that was a mistake on your part." Shen's words barely registered to Qrow as he was lifted out of the hole in the street and thrown towards a four-story building by the side of the road.
His body was like a ragdoll shot out of a cannon, the force alone caused the entire building to collapse. Still, he flew through the entire building as it collapsed and ended up on another street behind it. He landed back first on the ground creating a trail as he ripped through the ground.
"Agh…" Qrow groaned as he felt pain across his entire body, the arm Shen used to crush him into the street and throw him had been completely dislocated. Struggling to stand up he stabbed his weapon into the ground and forcefully corrected his arm. The pain caused him to let out a strained yell.
"Ok, might have bitten off more than I can chew-" Before he could even finish speaking to himself he heard the crackling of electricity. Flying from the dusty debris of the building he flew through a wolf made entirely of lightning that ran through the air towards him.
"Oh come on, Lightning Wolves?" Picking up his weapon again he quickly dodged. Just as he did the wolf bit into the ground he was just standing on, An explosion of lightning shot out for fifteen feet in each direction.
The explosion sent rock everywhere and the heat melted anything in its way, causing for the ground itself to turn a neon orange.
Landing on the ground again, Qrow saw two more wolves shoot from behind the dusty debris of the building. They honed in on him like missiles. Coming into the open Shen watched as they chased him down.
Over his time on the island, he had mastered the ability to create constructs of Life Fibers and Electricity. Before Life Fiber's he needed his Devil Trigger form to reach that level of control. But now he could do it in his base state, on top of that his control over the Gura Gura No Mi was nearing the level Enel had in the One Piece series.
As fast as Qrow was, he couldn't run forever. With Shen directly controlling these wolves, they were catching up to him no matter how quickly and radically he moved.
'Dammit!' Just as they were about to come within a meter of him, Qrow heard someone's voice.
"Jump!" Qrow reacted immediately jumping into the air, as two abandoned cars were sent flying towards where he was a moment ago. Just as the wolves had turned to chase Qrow, they were attracted to it. The next second both cars were blown apart and melted allowing Qrow to safely catch his breath as he landed on the ground.
Shen smirked as he looked towards the source of the voice.
"And it just keeps getting better. Glynda Goodwitch if I'm not mistaken?" Hearing Shen mentions her name, Qrow turned around and saw Glynda standing not too far behind him. In the entire series, her Semblance could be considered one of the most powerful.
She had Advanced Telekinesis to the point she could reconstruct a building with just the rubble remaining.
"Glynda, why are you here?" Qrow was worried, he knew Shen was after Glynda. She walked up to him and spoke in a low tone.
"Get up, you should know better than to lower your guard around an enemy." Qrow stood up hearing her but still spoke urgently.
"It's not safe for you here Glynda, he's after you and me. If I had to guess, he's planning to use us to get to Ozpin." Glynda's eyes narrowed hearing that.
"I see, but still I can't sit by and watch you get yourself killed. Ozpin is already dealing with the Maiden and Relic as we speak, we just need to buy him some time." Qrow didn't seem convinced as he spoke.
"I don't even think that's possible… This guy is insanely strong and even just then I could tell he was simply playing with me. I doubt we'll last even a few minutes if we both gave it a hundred percent."
"Well then, it looks like we'll have to give it a hundred and ten then." She shot him a side glance as she pointed her riding crop ahead of her. A purple aura engulfed her body as a magic glyph appeared in the air in front of her. Qrow's face froze as he heard and before he laughed.
Running his hand through his hair he sighed and cracked his neck.
"A hundred and ten? Why didn't I think of that?" Placing both hands on his weapon he calmed his Aura and prepared to fight. Watching them Shen dispersed the Life Fiber Blade in his hand.
"Alright then, I'll humor the two of you for a bit. Being cooped up in that airship for so long has been making me itchy for a fun fight."
