"Step back, damn it!" A police officer declared the entrance of Club Ethereal to be too visceral to be viewed by the public eye. Caution and biohazard signs were taped across all entrances and exits. Hokkaido police officers guarded the signs with riot shields as the innocent public demanded to enter. Families screaming the names of the deceased inside were held back violently, prohibiting all access.
Flashing cameras flickered throughout the night, blinding nearly all of the civilians and tourists passing by. Incoherent chatter spread as the notable Japanese news stations crowded the vicinity with their spokespeople reporting on the incident.
Among the public standing in the center of the crowd was Akai, who slithered through the people hounding at the police officers. He kept his composure with a neutral face and crooked-less posture. The police officers were notified of his appearance prior to the closing of Club Ethereal, and as soon as he arrived at the front, they allowed him through the caution signs without hesitation.
Akai entered the establishment alone. Melted, disfigured and mangled bodies with torn flesh painted across the main lobby, sticking on Akai's leather boots the moment he took a single step forward. Bullet holes, shattered wine glasses, and torn wallpaper grazed the environment, turning the classy nightclub into a dead wasteland. As he moved, his boots sticked against the flesh below his soles, but he continued to keep his composure.
A click of a flashlight revealed a corpse propped against the main lobby's bartending table. Its eyes melted into its sockets, and its slicked back silver hair dissolved to reveal the body's bald features. The color of its iridescent jacket faded away with the acid melting through. Akai kneeled down and rotated the corpse's face. The male figure's entire lower jaw melted apart. Its tongue still remained, dripping blood down the gaping throat where his esophagus used to be. Akai scanned its details carefully before moving down the stairs into the hidden lounge.
Bodies of more men with suits riddled the area where the stairs were as he descended down. Their bodies were ripped apart with blades with their guts splattered across the walls. Akai ignored the scent of them and continued moving down. He was met with an unbearable sight the moment he found himself down below.
It was an entire massacre. Humans and aliens alike, innocent civilians and partygoers were murdered in cold blood. Over fifty total bodies piled up against the wide vicinity of the underground lounge. Akai passed through the center stage, examining the details of each body with his flashlight. His stone cold fixated glare never lost sight of his true purpose; to gather evidence. His heart remained at a steady pace as he continued treading through the corpses.
Yet evidence of the Seething Vipers became loud and clear. Their weapons scattered across the underground lounge, jabbed and littered within rotten bodies. Akai bent down and grabbed one of the viper's poisonous serrated blades, examining it carefully with his flashlight.
Just then, while he was fixated on examining the details, the crackling sound of glass shattering echoed across the room. Akai lifted his legs up, scanning the area where the sound was made. He approached one of the bartender countertops where the sound ways made. Shattered alcohol bottles and shot glasses crinkled beneath his feet as he stepped forward with his guard up. He kneeled down and examined another shattered vial of the poisonous liquid.
Just as he kneeled down, one of the corpses returned to life, pretending to be deceased. An injured Seething Viper leaped across the lounge to escape the vicinity, but Akai was quick. He held in his breath and yanked out his pistol, firing a single shot behind the viper's shin. The viper collapsed on the ground, sliding across the broken glass. Shards of them entered the plague doctor's helmet, stabbing and piercing the skin underneath.
Akai approached the viper. Echoes of his boots rattled the viper's spine as it proceeded to retreat on the floor. It attempted to throw whatever it could to stop Akai, but nothing it did could pierce through Akai's resilient and death-defying aura.
Akai fired another bullet into the viper's right shin. No audible screams could be heard from the viper's mouth, which Akai deemed unusual for a human being behind the mask. He kneeled down and removed their masquerade, revealing a black tight jumpsuit shrouding the entirety of the viper's face.
Akai grabbed the viper's throat and began hammering the pistol's butt against its forehead rapidly and forcefully. Blood trickled out of the black jumpsuit, staining the edge of Akai's pistol. Akai's face began to sweat profusely, and his hair wettened itself out of shape. Over the long period, Akai closed his eyes and pretended to stay calm as he continued bashing his firearm against the viper's forehead and nose.
With a slow exhale, Akai released his grip on his pistol and the viper's throat. He took deep breaths through his mouth before taking a handkerchief in his pocket and wiping the blood traces off of his hands and face. He stood up from his kneeled position, took a quick gander at his watch, and left the vicinity without another word.
