Chapter 20: Two months left.

Qin Qianyu left Bai Saan in the care of the AAC and made her way back to the airport lounge.

After coming through the service doors with the aid of a helpful staff member she thanked the staff member once again but before the pair even parted another passenger barged through them knocking over the staff member.

Qin Qianyu was quicker and dodged with ease. She glanced at the woman that had heavy make up on then to the muscular man beside her that had one hand around the woman's hip and the other holding a trolley with a large cage on it.

She saw that it was a very aggressive dog as it growled at her, before it started acting out and smashing against its kennel.

"Are you alright?"

Qin Qianyu paid the dog no mind as she went over and helped the worker up. He nodded his head and offered his thanks to her.

"Hey you! You're from the AAC right!? We've been told to pass our dog to you so here take it and don't you dare let his cage get damage or even a single scratch you here me?"

The man frowned as the paperwork was thrust into his hands. He was about to say something when Qin Qianyu intervened,

"What a vicious large dog! There's only space next to my cat, What if he scares my cat!?"

Qin Qianyu asked in her most innocent voice, the staff members lip twitched when he heard her mentioning her "cat" Qin Qianyu saw this and quickly gave a sly wink.

Understanding up to this point, the staff member tried hard not to laugh out loud.

However that didn't stop the newly arrived couple from bellowing out.

"Tough luck to you kid. If you don't want your cat to be scared, then get a dog. Hahaha!"

"Kids worry over every damn thing! Come on baby let's head to the lounge."

Qin Qianyu smirked at the rude couple as they walked away, she looked at the staff member and smiled brightly at him before looking at the aggressive dog in pity.

She waved good bye to the worker and wished the aggressive dog "good luck" before heading towards the waiting lounge for her flight.

Soon she and grandpa Wú boarded the plane, as she was travelling first class she got to board first as she was boarding, the rude couple from earlier started to kick up a fuss when they recognised her.

"You can join her too, please upgrade your tickets to first class why fuss over nothing?"

"They're probably can't, just look at them, they both scream "please notice how tacky I am!" Haha!"

"Oh you're right,"

The couple were originally being like their dog, overly aggressive for no reason. They soon took a step back after all of the other passengers started to mock the pair.

They piped down because of the shame they felt from being scolded by everyone.

Qin Qianyu paid them no mind as she boarded along with grandpa Wú and several others that were sitting in first class.

Once at their seat, Qin Qianyu helped her master, she got him a pillow and blanket. She was being so attentive to grandpa Wú that it left a really good impression on the others that saw her.

"Stop fussing and sit down, it's only a four hour trip,"

"You said you were cold this morning. Grandpa it's colder now than it was then I don't want you getting sick. So for now, keep warm okay? Geez, what if something happens to you?"

"Mhm, alright I'll do as you say."

Those that were around the pair couldn't help but smile. They could tell just by listening to the pair chat with each other that they were extremely close and it wasn't forced or fake.

The plane ride went by just like that, the pair had chatted quietly to each other all the way. Those around them were astonished by how many things the elder and child had in common.

The topics of conversation ranged from the military and martial arts to apothecary and animals.

It was fascinating to those around them as it was usual for teens to play on their phones or computer devices, and when it came to the elders, most of the time it was only face value things and the like.

But for these two the entire exchange was real genuine.

The car ride back to Qin Qianyu's building was no different that it was on the plane, except for the time duration.

"Grandpa Wú I'm heading inside now, wanna come? I'll make us a late meal!"

"Mhm, it's alright, I'll head back and wait for Bai Saan to arrive."

"Oh that's right, grandpa should I stay with you too?"

"What, go home! Your parents haven't seen you for four days! Besides you'll soon see Bai Saan in the morning, alright, go in I'll be fine."

"Alright goodnight grandpa,"

"Mhm, goodnight Xiaoyu."

Grandpa Wú watched as Qin Qianyu climbed the stairs to her apartment. Grandpa Wú had held it in for so long while Qin Qianyu was by his side, he quickly covered his mouth and coughed incessantly into his hand, specs of blood could be seen in his palm.

"Head to Ying Hospital,"

"Yes sir,"

The car pulled away and as it did, a shadow of a person blended in with the darkness of the night.

"Heh, I just left your place after dropping off some assigned homework all because I live in the same scummy area as you. It seems the rumours are really true and now I've caught you in the act! You're such a slut Qin Qianyu and I'll prove it to everyone."

The person within the shadows mumbled to themselves aloud.

They soon tried to follow grandpa Wú's car, but they only got as far as the gate to Ying Private Hospital.

"Tsk! So your sugar daddy is from the famed Ying family! Haha! I'll keep my eye on you from now on, then when I've collected more stable evidence I'll be able to sell those photos off and score a nice little profit while I'm at it. Heh that'll teach you to reject me you casual slut!"

The young man that was muttering to himself was in the same school uniform as Qin Qianyu, he smirked maliciously as the light in his eyes flashed with a glint of resentment and hostility.

The boy soon left the area surrounding Ying Hospital.

"Mother, Father, I'm back!"

Qin Qianyu announced as she walked in through the doors. However the house was silent.

"Hello!? Mum!? . . Dad!?"

Suddenly there was a slight ruckus coming from one of the bedrooms.

The sound was loud enough to cause suspicion to raise in Qin Qianyu,

She placed the gifts she had brought for her parents down lightly and did the same with her back pack. She switched into fight mode ready for anything.

Qin Qianyu inched closer to the door but it suddenly opened up and Ouyang Zihan walked out carrying a bunch of folded towels!

"Wah! . . Yu'er! You scared the life out of me!"

"Mum! . . Thank god! I thought you were a burglar! I had called out, why is everything so quiet?"

"Oh your father went to rest early, he tried to stay up for you."

"Welcome home, let me put these away then you can tell me all about your trip."

Qin Qianyu looked at her mother questioning, and with a cocked eye brow. When her mother came out she notice light perspiration on her forehead, her hair was a little messy but there was one telltale sign that really gave it away,

"Okay, tell dad to come out too, that way you can put your dress on the right way while he dresses, hehehe!"

"Huh! . . Arrrrgh! Don't look! Close your eyes! And you mind!"

Ouyang Zihan exclaimed after looking down and seeing that her dress was inside out, she then saw the mischievous look on Qin Qianyu's face as she realised then that her daughter already guessed what must have transpired.

Ouyang Zihan pushed the folded towels into Qin Qianyu's empty arms and made tracks back to the master bedroom. A few moments later, a boisterous laughter erupted within the room along with a sulky whimper.

A few moments later the couple emerged from the bedroom looking much more presentable.

Qin Qianyu sat on the sofa with wide eyes and a big smile on her face.

While she was on her road trip she had been wondering how she could broach the subject of her parents conceiving another child.

Now it seemed like she found the perfect opportunity.

Qin Qianyu still smiling a little too much started to make the couple uncomfortable. They knew that they had just been caught in the act, but tried to play it cool.

Qin Qianyu sensed this and toned herself down a little. She handed out her gifts to them and also spoke about the road trip. She left some parts out for obvious reasons.

"Well I'm glad you're back and that you had a good time."

The room went quiet for a while and then it started feeling awkward. Then after a while the couple kept elbowing each other, Qin Haoran finally muttered out aloud,

"Yu'er I . . Ah . . We, we both have something to tell you,"

"Ah me too, well it's more of a suggestion and request than a casual chat though, but since you brought it up, you first."

"Well, it's about my body you see . . "

"Huuuh! Are you sick!? What's wrong!?"

"Oh ah, no I'm not sick it's well . . I haven't had my period for about two months now, so we went to get myself checked out and . . . "

Qin Qianyu's eyes went the widest they've ever been.

"You're pregnant!"

"Mhm,"

The couple looked to their daughter, although they were happy at the news, they didn't know how Qin Qianyu would take it, however,

"OMG! This is fate! This is destiny! This was what I want to suggest and request! Hahaha!"

Qin Qianyu was extremely happy for both her parents. She got up and congratulated them both with kisses and hugs.

She then told them more about Tingting and how she kept calling her older sister this and big sister that which got her mind ticking over.

She then spoke about her plans to enter university again and how they would be lonely without her around so a little brother or sister would be the perfect solution.

Ouyang Zihan and Qin Haoran both felt that Qin Qianyu was more excited than they were at the sudden news.

This delighted them both immensely, Ouyang Zihan especially.

The trio chatted some more and even asked Qin Qianyu to think of a nickname for the child to which she eagerly accepted.

"Alright, go to bed, you still need to rest after a long trip, have uncle Wú come over tomorrow for dinner too okay."

"I will hehehe! I'm going to be a sister!"

Qin Qianyu threw her arms up in a V shape as she jumped up after getting herself all excited again and gave both her parents a big kiss and cuddle before heading to her room.

Back at Ying Hospital however, grandpa Wú had just been tested for a variety of ailments that afflicts those of his age. Grandpa Wú sat on an empty row of cold aluminium seats, after 45 minutes, he was called in by the doctor.

He explained to grandpa Wú what they tested and he gave the results for each.

Grandpa Wú's face was stoic through out, he would nod intermittently and give a throaty grunt when asked for confirmation.

In the end, the only good news the doctor gave was that he has been eating so well that his organs, although failing on him aren't having too much trouble thanks to his good diet.

"If you had done the operation 20 years ago you may have been fine today,"

"No, the skill level and techniques used back then weren't the same as they are now. Then, the doctor only gave me 20% chance of success and even if it did succeed, I'd only have 15 years at most! . . That was 30 years ago."

" . . . "

"We can still do it now, as I said before your chances don't look great if you don't."

"Mhm, how long?"

"With the operation, minus any complications your life can be extended another 5 years at most, however, you'll need full time care for all those years."

"So essentially, it's 24/7 palliative care is that right?"

"Correct Mr Wú, you won't be able to move by yourself, communicate, do any of the things you can do now, but you'll still be alive for another 5 years."

"Can you still call that living!?"

Grandpa Wú screamed back at the doctor.

The doctor still held his indifference on his face like a seasoned pro as he allowed grandpa Wú to lash out and vent his frustrations.

Grandpa Wú, calmed down shortly after and apologised for the unsightly outburst before asking.

"So, without the operation, what am I looking at?"

"Without the operation, you'll only have around two months left."

Grandpa Wú nodded solemnly, then looked out the office window. His thoughts weren't on what the doctor just told him, nor what he could, should or wanted to do, for the first time in a long time it was blank, nothing came to mind.

Qin Qianyu lay in her bed, after the little chat with her parents she couldn't help but giggle to herself.

"I'm actually going to be a big sister! Haha! Right! I'll need to knuckle down now. I'll have to earn lots and lots to provide for my family of seven. Two months left! Two more months to determine my new future."

Qin Qianyu dosed off happily she couldn't wait to tell grandpa Wú the good news.
