As the two girls caught taxis back to where they were staying after their meal at Aunty Sun's, one person was spitting curses at a wall.
"Wú Ling when I get out of here I'll make sure you and your friend regret!"
It had been over 14 hours and Wen Wú Ping still hadn't had breakfast.
And because his "identity" was giving the detention centre staff problems, they had forgotten to send him his meal.
Calling him a "little cranky" would only be an understatement.
When he was finally released the first thing he did was look for the closest fast food franchise and ordered two buckets of chicken.
As soon as he finished his meal, he looked at the documents he was given with vengeance in his eyes.
He couldn't believe that he has to attend court to answer for his "misunderstanding".
Wen Wú Ping's phone rang and when he looked at the ID he could help but seethe.
"So you finally remembered you have a brother huh!?"
"I didn't forget, I just couldn't be bothered, plus! I don't have a brother like you, from now on you're just a sick stalking weirdo that use to be my brother."
"Huh!? Did that woman kick you in the head too!? What's wrong with you, where are you?"
"Me? I'm at the hotel with mother and there's nothing wrong with me! Im actually normal compared to some sicko who enjoys stalking girls while jogging!"
"Wen Wú Ling! That's not funny! Ive already told you it was just a misunderstanding, all of it!"
"Misunderstanding!? You filthy pig! You think I'd joke about something like this!? To you, it maybe a misunderstanding, but to the poor girl you've been harassing, that's stalking!"
"It's not, it's honestly a misunderstanding!"
"You put the girl's underwear over your damn face! Your damn mouth and nose were on the crotch of the the woman's panties! . . What the fuck!"
"How . . . Listen, I only did that to avoid any misunderstandings, I mean, so that when I explained the previous misunderstanding she wouldn't recognise me when I did!"
"How the hell does creating a misunderstanding, dissolve another!? In what freaking universe does that make any kind of sense!? You ripped a girls bag that had her clothes in it and when her underwear falls out the first thing you think of is to wear their panties on your face because your such a sincere guy!?"
"You're disgusting do you know that!? I'm so regretting adding you to my smudge algorithm, you need to be sent to prison sicko!"
"Damn it Wú Ling it may just happen! Your stupid algorithm didn't even work! They went old school and done all the paperwork on damn paper!"
"They did!? Really!?"
"Yeah! I have to appear in court because of you two!"
"Good! Hope you go to prison, because after I tell mother and eldest brother that's the only place you'll ever be safe."
"Whoa! Little sister don't be hasty, why would you even tell them?"
"Why!? There are several reasons why! The main one is because I'm older than that girl you've been stalking and you even had her damn panties glued to your damn face!"
"ARGH! Just thinking about it is giving me the creeps!"
" . . . "
"Do you understand now you damn beast! When you get out, be a better person."
The call ended there and Wen Wú Ping sat in his chair in stunned silence.
"How could that godly woman be younger than Xiaoling!? . . I'm doomed! . . Damn you eyes! It's all your damn fault!"
Wen Wú Ping was truly regretting ever setting eyes on Qin Qianyu. He only wanted to attract her attention but somehow it's all turned to this and it didn't look good no matter where he looked.
Wen Wú Ping wasn't alone when it came to regrets.
At the military base on the outskirts of the city, four people had been grilled nonstop for a long while by officers of PIT.
The famed Phoenix Investigation Team.
The first to crack was Doctor Gu, Gu Ping's uncle. He sat in regret for having listen to his nephew's ideas. However, he was still enticed and the praise and pay increase made him want more.
The pair started looking for more chances to boost their bank accounts which led to many areas being overlooked when producing new medicines from the half finished research taken from Shenlong and in most cases making it even worst than its original state.
The second one to crack was Gu Ping.
Gu Ping had seen the lavish lives of those like the Duan family and the like and felt that he could have the same thing too by stealing a few of Doctor Wen's research because he had so much.
He just need someone on the outside to help him out and that's where his uncle and the hospital he worked at came into it.
The last one of the three to crack was Jing Li.
This wasn't because she was a hard nut to crack but because she kept having panic attacks and passing out for long periods of time.
She knew the research material they were using to produce "revolutionary" new medicine was stolen but she didn't care.
To a business woman, profits trump all, even her judgement and morals.
As long as there was money to be made, to her, nothing else mattered. In essence, her bottom line never existed.
The charges against the three would be heard in the local military court here in this city.
The fourth one that wallowed in regret was a high school student named Liu Chen.
However, he wasn't regretful for what he had done, but because he got caught.
He truly believes that he was doing this in the name of justice and protecting the morals and values of the country.
His case was referred to the police after PIT was through with him. The team passed on evidence of him planning to blackmail a female student named Qin Qianyu and Jing Hospital.
They found extensive evidence of him stalking the student formerly mentioned and also the post that he made on the schools forums where his testimony was quickly debunked by the team, the person he named as an heir of the Jing family turned out to be a stalker too that had just been caught and would appear in court the same day as Liu Chen.
PIT had identified that the post he made was nothing more than his own delusion because of an unhealthy obsession with a girl at the same school.
PIT gave a recommendation of charging him with making and possessing illegal images, attempted blackmail, trespassing and slander.
With the evidence in hand both the police and prosecutors agreed.
Back in the city, Wen Wú Ping had just ended the call with his sister and was gazing out of the franchise's window when he suddenly shot straight up and ran outside.
"Wait . . please wait!"
"You! . . What do you want!? . . Actually I don't care, what you want to say, go away and leave me alone!"
The person Wen Wú Ping saw was Qin Qianyu. She was making her way towards the studio after the meal she shared with Mingxi and Wú Ling.
"I'm Wú Ling's older brother!"
"What!? Big sister Wú Ling!?"
Qin Qianyu wouldn't have guessed such a thing.
"To think that this pervert is Big sister Wú Ling's older brother."
Qin Qianyu thought to herself. She didn't know what to say after being told that.
Wen Wú Ping however was sizing the girl up and down. Qin Qianyu noticed this and took several steps backwards.
Of course she could easily kick his arse, but she was too mindful now about keeping her other identity hidden.
Seeing her move back a few steps caused Wen Wú Ping's mind to return to the present.
"Wait, so you're seriously younger than Wú Ling?"
"Mhm,"
"Listen I won't do anything I promise, I just want to say a few things then I'll leave you alone, promise."
Qin Qianyu nodded at his request but still kept some distance between them.
"I just wanted you to know that it was honestly all just one huuuge! misunderstanding!"
Wen Wú Ping explained everything from his prospective and even how he panicked which led to the underwear incident.
"Even though to me it may have seemed like a misunderstanding, to you it must have been really scary. Well on Monday I have to go to court for this and I was hoping that you would come and watch me get what I deserve just so you can have some price of mind."
Wen Wú Ping said as he held up the summons to Qin Qianyu. He then continued,
"I also hope that no matter the outcome of the court proceedings, you won't bare a grudge against little Wú Ling, she's a good girl, a little cheeky but she has a good heart."
"To be brutally honest with you, Wú Ling doesn't have any friends around her age, so please don't hate her."
What he said regarding his reasons for her to come and see his case heard was only half true. He was banking that his "sincerity" and also his closeness with Wú Ling would cast him in a better light, and his image would improve more in Qin Qianyu's eyes.
Even though Qin Qianyu was younger than his little sister there was only 8 years between him and Wú Ling. For Qin Qianyu, he really didn't mind waiting 5 years for her. However,
"Nope! I won't go."
"Really!? That's great . . Wait! . . you said you won't go?"
"That's right. I'll only go to court in person If I'm summoned to appear."
"But . . I'm being sincere!"
"I understand, but your explanation, to me it all sounded like a convenient excuse because you got caught, nothing more."
" . . . "
"Throughout the entire explanation you gave me just now, did you know that you never said sorry once!? Yet you're telling me that you're being sincere? Tsk! Listen, when you come out of prison, do try hard to be a better person in the future."
Qin Qianyu said no more and left the stunned Wen Wú Ping standing there as she ambled into a jog then sprinted away.
Once she was in the clear and far away from prying eyes she used her shadowless steps and headed to the studio.
While submerged in Bai Saan's warm fur she messaged Wen Wú Ling some time later and told her off before telling about her encounter with Wen Wú Ping.
Wú Ling called her back straight away after she read the message.
"Sister, little sister, my princess Xiaoyu, please don't be mad, I know I should have told you, and I would have eventually, I'll make sure the pig goes to jail, I've already told my family everything and even showed them the wanted poster with the pictures of his disgusting acts,"
"Mother is furious right now, see, listen,"
Qin Qianyu could hear the sounds of a woman in the background shouting and screaming at Wen Wú Ping.
"I know you really hate him, after meeting you, I really hate him for what he did too, I hate that he's my brother and that he hurt my friend."
"I promise to make him pay, please believe in me my little sister, my sweet Xiaoyu . . .
" . . . "
Qin Qianyu was still quiet, Wú Ling took this to mean that Qin Qianyu was upset and mad at her because of her brother.
"I see . . . You hate me too now right? . . Mhm it's understandable. I'm sorry."
The call ended. Qin Qianyu was shocked and surprised. She didn't even get to say a word because Wú Ling wouldn't stop rambling on and didn't give her a chance to speak.
"Has this girl been around Mingxi too long!? It's only been half a day and she's already picked up her habit of acting on impulse and while not thinking things through clearly."
She called Wú Ling back but an older person answered the phone.
"Hello, my name is Qin Qianyu, I'm Wú Ling's friend, may I speak with her please?"
"Sorry, to tell you the truth Wú Ling isn't in a good state at the moment, she's . . "
"What's wrong!? I was just on the phone with her, she had hung up even before I could say a word."
Qin Qianyu quizzed, she was thinking and hoped that she wasn't doing something silly.
"Oh! You're the poor girl my idiot son has been harassing. Let me apologise, rest assured I'll make the brat pay for his actions, one should always be punished for doing wrong."
"That's fine, but what about Wú Ling!? What's wrong with her?"
Qin Qianyu wasn't worried about any of that, she was more concerned for her new friend,
"Oh ah, well she's chasing her brother around the hotel room with a kitchen knife."
" . . . "
"Can you call out and tell her Xiaoyu is on the phone please."
The woman giggled and did as she was asked of her. A moment later heavy breathing could be heard.
"Xiaoyu? . . . "
"Why did you hang up for?"
"Because you hate me and don't want to be my friend anymore."
"Who said that!?"
" . . . "
"So . . Does that mean?"
"What do you think that means!? Tsk! Listen you can't help who your family is, but what does his actions have to do with you? Did you force him to into his ridiculous antics?"
"No,"
"Did you make him pull my panties over his head?"
"Don't remind me! It's giving me the creeps!"
"Well did you?"
"Hell no!"
"So why would I hate you? Why wouldn't I want to be friends? If you keep acting like this than maybe you should adopt Mingxi's name,"
" . . . "
"I don't know how close the two of you are, but, his explanation to me just didn't cut it, he needs to learn his lesson."
"Mhm I totally agree, right is right, wrong is wrong! Don't worry, mother and I will make sure of it, we'll drag him to court ourselves."
"Alright. Don't stab your brother, least you want to go to court too."
"Hmmm, what if I just give him a tiny cut? A shavers nick!?"
" . . . "
"Behave . . How can there be two Mingxi's in this world."
"Alright I better go before my mother stabs him before me, . . . Xiaoyu,"
"Hmm?"
"Thank you for calling me back."
"Your welcome."
The call ended and Qin Qianyu wanted to melt into Saan's fur,
"What a day, why can't I just be like you?"
"ROOOAR? Wooar,"
As time ticked by she chatted with grandpa Wú for a while and discussed their plans for the trip to the capital.
Once done, Qin Qianyu changed outfits and donned her fox mask and headed out to the location her client designated for the second treatment.
