Chapter 54: Foodies delight.

The Foodies delight show thanked all of the viewers for turning into his stream, he then promised to bring more exciting shows just like that one in future streams and logged off.

"Hey! It's me! I've got a new idea for a show! I wanna take this as far as it can go!"

The slim man was on his phone making some arrangements as he packed away all of the equipment he had for his streaming with one hand.

He wanted to make what happened just now into a weekly feature during his broadcast.

"Here's the thing! I'll go to random peoples homes and provide dinner for them while they provide the entertainment. If the viewers find it interesting that family will win a prize."

"Okaaay, but what if they don't agree?"

"Even better! It'll sell the authenticity of the feature."

"What if you knock on a gangsters door or similar? What then?"

"We can find a building complex, somewhere where they wouldn't be normally, whatever, anyway that's the plan, set up a meeting with everyone now, I'm on my way in and we'll start ironing out all of the details."

"On it,"

Xi Susu and the two girls had come to the building that Qin Qianyu lived in with her parents.

Not long after, the Director also turned up at the building too.

Wen Wú Ling just kept hitting the call icon on her phone, when she saw the Director and his family there she threw them a nasty snarl and went back to her phone.

Lu Mingxi came back from up stairs weeping,

"Their entire house is empty! There's not even dust left in there! . . . You! You heartless pigs! Guh! . . BRING MY FRIEND BACK!"

Lu Mingxi had spotted the instigators on the street and screamed out mournfully.

Her emotions had peaked when she saw the emptied out home. Then it all spilt over after seeing the Director and his family.

"What the hell are you even doing here, Huh!? Haven't you all caused enough damage!?"

Lu Mingxi was heaving at this point, suddenly her phone rang. She was about to dismiss the call till she saw who it was.

"Qianyu! . . Wuuu! . . Huuuuu!"

"Mingxi what's wrong!? Where are you? What's happening?"

Qin Qianyu had seen all the missed calls from both her friends, she had called Wen Wú Ling first but her phone was engaged.

Wen Wú Ling went over and took the call over.

"Sorry, she's in a right state at the moment,"

"Big sister, what's happening what's wrong with Mingxi? Did you bully her?"

"Heh! Not me, your former landlord and his family did, we're all outside your old place."

"You're all at my old place?"

Wen Wú Ling gave Qin Qianyu the abridged version of the events and how she, Mingxi and Minister Xi have been out trying to find her and her family to make sure they were alright which led to Mingxi reaching her breaking point when she came from checking her home and finding it cleaned out, then she spotted the Director.

Qin Qianyu's heart started hurting for her friends, she hated that she let it get this far.

"Thank you Wú Ling. Can I speak with Mingxi please?"

Wen Wú Ling handed the phone over to Mingxi, she had calmed down some. She wiped the tears from her eyes and gave a throaty reply.

"Mhm, . . "

"I'm so, so sorry Mingxi, it's all my fault that everything has turned out like this. Please don't be sad okay! I'm safe, my family is safe you just have to keep yourself safe."

"Where are you? I'll come get you, all of you! You can all live with me!"

"Thank you Mingxi, but honestly we're all fine now. Please don't worry, We're all at a relatives place, it's just him and a cat here so there's plenty of room for us."

" . . . "

"I want to see you though! It's not because I think you're lying! It's because . . I . . think . . you're . . lying,"

"Huh!? . . Haise! I'm not lying okay, tomorrow! aren't we meeting up tomorrow anyway?"

"Mhm,"

"Okay, can you put Aunty Susu on the phone please. I'll need to give her my thanks."

Lu Mingxi did just that, and Wen Wú Ling went to comfort her downcast friend, very soon they were both, weeping for no reason,

Xi Susu cocked an eyebrow,

"Why is she crying too? . . How odd!"

Xi Susu then spoke about what has happened and the outcome with what she discussed with Dean Zhao.

Unfortunately the house matter was out of her hands and she could only apologise for not being able to do more.

"Aunty Susu, on behalf of my family, thank you for all you've done. We would like to thank you properly but the circumstances aren't exactly favourable at this present juncture. But if there's anything you need from me please let me know and I'll do it,"

"My part in all this was just a small thing, don't mind it too much, and since you asked, Well that's easy enough for you to do, all you have to do is keep being good friends with these two slobbering right in front of me. I'm sure you're capable of that much right?"

"Hehe, mhm, that . . I'll most definitely do. Thank you Aunty Susu."

"You're welcome child."

Wen Wú Ling chatted with Qin Qianyu some more before ending the call. Qin Qianyu would still meet up with them tomorrow she also ask for a favour from her.

"Sure, that's easy. Okay call if you need anything okay! . . Alright . . bye."

Wen Wú Ling ended the call and turns to her mother,

"Mother, can I stay with Mingxi tonight?"

"If it's alright with her family I don't see why not,"

"Well?"

Wen Wú Ling asked. This was the favour Qin Qianyu wanted. She didn't want Lu Mingxi to be alone tonight,

"Of . . Of course! You don't need permission I'll just let dad know. This is great! Then we can meet up with Qianyu together!"

"Alright I'll drop you two back, but first, Let's go get some food, any recommendations?"

"Aunty Suns!"

Both teens called out.

They all left leaving the Director and his family still standing there awkwardly. He had hoped that Qin Qianyu and her family were still here removing their possessions.

He would have compensated the wronged family and did all he could to make things right.

When he had first overheard the conversations happening with Qin Qianyu he wanted to ask if he too could speak with her when the phone was being passed around.

When it was just him and his family standing there he began emitting a frightening aura as his mood was greatly affected.

His daughter was so frightened that she broke and confessed that it was her that started the rumour about Qin Qianyu.

The Director was even more furious after he was told that.

"Do you have any idea what you've done! Because of you! Some loon got it in his head that what you said was the truth! And because of that he started making up his own version of someone's everyday life to fit into the narrative you started!"

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!"

"Your sorry! Is your sorry going to fed us!? Is it going to keep a roof over our heads!? Your damn sorry mouth has ruined our entire family and for what!?"

"Dear calm down! We still have our building, don't make it sound so drastic and desperate!"

"Where is your damn head at woman! When word gets out about how we wronged a teen girl and her family and even evicted that very family, one of which is a pregnant woman, just to remind you! And on the same damn day! Do you really think that anybody would want to live in our damn building!?"

The Director was spluttering as he yelled at his wife and daughter. The seriousness of what has come to be hit both mother and daughter hard.

The Director got in his car and drove away. He was so mad that he forgot that his wife and daughter weren't in the car with him.

Meanwhile in another part of the city. Xi Susu was holding her breath then breathing out of her mouth when she couldn't hold out any longer. She did so, so she wouldn't have to inhale the stench that first assaulted her nostrils when they first arrived here.

"Ling'er, where are you taking me?"

"Hehe! Trust me mum! You'll love this place."

"Here we are,"

Lu Mingxi cried out excitedly as she ushered in Xi Susu and Wen Wú Ling.

"Aunty Sun I have money! Give me your best!"

"Oh Little Ling! Little Xi, Oh no Xioayu?"

"We'll bring her tomorrow, but tonight! I'll be treating my mum to your specialties!"

Xi Susu gave Aunty Sun a slight nod. Aunty Sun had that"you look familiar" look but just smiled and ask,

"Alright! What'll it be girls!?

"The works!"

The trio sat down and shortly after they were stuck into their first dish of the evening.

An hour and a half later, they were all done and fully satisfied with the evening's dishes and after paying, Lu Mingxi led Xi Susu and Wen Wú Ling to her home.

Back at the studio, Grandpa Wú had shown Qin Qianyu's parents to their room.

Qin Qianyu sat lost in thought about what just happened a moment ago before Grandpa Wú had shown her parents to their room.

They were exhausted from the day, and after Qin Qianyu had shown them what she had learnt while under Grandpa Wú, they were thoroughly impressed.

This was also the reason why Qin Qianyu had missed all of her friends calls. They had been calling her while she was performing for her parents.

When she called, she put the phone on speaker so that her parents could hear what had transpired.

They were both glad that it was all sorted in the end, but were still disappointed that it had to come to Xi Susu for it to be resolved.

After the call had ended, Qin Haoran turned to his daughter and gave her a scolding.

"I know you have your plans, but something like this should have been told to us. Do you know that I was seriously scared! I was so scared that the stress would affect both Zihan and the baby, and was scared for you. I had started hating myself, thinking that you had been forced by our financial circumstances. That was a horrible thing to go through."

Qin Qianyu sat with her head lowered, she knew she had messed up. If her parents wants to punish her, she accept it because the fault was also hers.

"I'm truly sorry, . . "

"Haaa! You've also been expelled, so tell me, what have you been doing all this time!?"

"I would come here to do my training as usual then head to the city library to study for SIC before coming home. I honestly didn't mean to not tell you I just didn't think it was worth it. If I place well at SIC I'd finish school then it all wouldn't had mattered,"

"Yu'er, to us any and everything related to you matters greatly to us. No matter big or small it may be. I'm sorely disappointed in you. To see that, with all your smarts, you've failed to see or comprehend that much. To think that even Mingxi hadn't notice you weren't at school too, no wonder she broke down when she saw our empty home."

Qin Qianyu felt even more of her guts turning as she muttered,

"The only ones that knew I was expelled where Mingxi and Wú Ling, they both found out the day Mingxi came over to apologise properly."

"What!? . . "

"She didn't believe the post or rumours, and she had come over to see if I was still okay after hearing that I was also expelled, she thought that we would move away which was why she came over to apologise in case she lost that chance to."

"Hmmm, alright, so . . Any other secrets!?"

"I sometimes put Bai Saan's hair in Grandpa Wú's tea so that he grow to like Saan."

"Pfft! . . I knew it!

Grandpa Wú spat out the tea he was drinking as he stared at both Qin Qianyu and Bai Saan with vengeance in his eyes.

The adults sighed and shook their heads.

Grandpa Wú had returned from escorting Qin Qianyu's parents to their room.

His presence pulled Qin Qianyu from her own reminiscing thoughts. She cracked a crooked smile at the old man as he sat down and joined her.

Qin Qianyu got up and leans into Grandpa Wú, her head found a comfortable position on his shoulder,

"Thanks for coming so quickly today, I was so mad, if you didn't show up, I would have burnt down the entire building."

"Hmm, you're my one and only disciple, I'll be there for for as long as I live."

"Still, thank you."

"If you really want to thank me, then keep your distance from Xi Susu."

"Huh!? Why!? . . Grandpa Wú, aren't you just overthinking it all. I mean, she's just my friend's mother."

"Mhm, I can't and won't stop you from making friends, but you really have to be mindful that just because they are good to you and you to them, it doesn't automatically mean that the people around them would see it as so."

"Take Xi Susu for example,"

"Although she's just a Minister of Education, her background is anything but simple. Now I'm not saying that she'll act upon you herself but if those around her, especially her family find out about you and the fox, I shudder the thought."

"Is there something historical between you and Xi Susu's family that I need to be aware of?"

Grandpa Wú's eyes went dull and he didn't answer. To Qin Qianyu it looked as if he were travelling along a long and probably lonely road of memories.

"Just keep your distance, if you can't help it, then remove all traces of the fox. All of it."

"But . . Wouldn't that mean you as well?"

Grandpa Wú said nothing only giving a slight smile with a light nod of his head.
