Chapter 58: Heartlessness.

Qin Qianyu looked at Li Yuan, he was shocked by what he was hearing. He now understood the message that Su Yin had sent him.

Qin Qianyu wanted to show him that he was being taken advantage of by these people.

He almost blurred out when he first saw her, he had thought that she had gotten caught up amongst these family members by accident as she came to visit until he heard them claiming her to be their despondent and ill niece.

Suddenly, Su Yin arrived and she had a couple of officers with her. She looked at Li Yuan then her boss.

She tapped Qin Qianyu on the shoulder and stated firmly,

"I don't think you should be with them, they aren't good people."

The woman that had been doing all the talking turned to see Su Yin standing there and her face twisted as she spat out vehemently,

"Who are you to slander us! I'll have you know this is my niece! We brought her here to show the effects you and this heartless man have had on the poor girl by pushing for her father to serve a longer prison sentence."

Qin Qianyu walked towards Su Yin and stood next to her. The woman that had paid Qin Qianyu was livid.

"What the hell is this girl doing?"

"What are you doing!? Don't you know your father is looking at a lengthy prison sentence because of her?"

"My father? My parents are at home though!"

"Sister, I'm glad you came, I've been waiting."

Qin Qianyu stated. Su Yin smiled warily at the teen.

"You! . . You tricked us! How dare you do this. Just who are you!?"

"Make up your mind! First I'm your niece now I'm a stranger? Well first off, I already told you that I was here waiting for someone, now that "someone" has arrived. My Sister Yin,"

Qin Qianyu stated then pointed out Su Yin.

"As for who I am, I'm just an ordinary citizen wanting to report a dishonesty crime against you! for trying to scam this couple here."

When the group heard this and saw the police standing there also, their brains quickly kicked into survival mode and they all got up off the ground and scampered away.

The two officers were able to stop and capture the woman that gave the red packet and one other.

Qin Qianyu showed them the video, and red envelope that had a few hundred yuan inside.

The woman started screaming the she was filmed illegally, but as they reviewed the video on Qin Qianyu's phone it was a mainly of Qin Qianyu herself, making faces or posing while the voices of the group could be heard in the background. The rest only showed the ground or her clothing.

"If you take the footage from the security camera there and there and link it up with the audio from here it'll all match up."

The police took the two people away along with the money and a copy of the phone footage.

Li Yuan and Chen Jiang looked at Qin Qianyu with guilty expressions.

"Miss Qin, please come in I . . "

Qin Qianyu cut Li Yuan off,

"No, I'm busy, I only came here for a quick visit only to find I've been roped into all this."

"Miss Qin, I'm really sorry, thank you for your help once again. If not for you . . "

Qin Qianyu cut him off once again.

"I've just been made aware of what you've been doing Mr Li. I thought you were a kind hearted person, but in reality, you're a very cruel man aren't you!"

"Miss Qin, my husband isn't like that,"

"Oh yes he is, because he's sort leniency for his attackers, it means they will get out early to commit a similar crime on someone else and a family will most definitely suffer the loss of their loved one like you almost did. How is that not caused by the actions of a cruel man?. Do you know why they'll reoffend? Because they didn't spend the time needed to rehabilitate, to reflect on what they've been doing wrong. You see, now they have it cemented in their minds that they can keep doing what they have been doing as long as they play the same old petty tricks you've allowed them to play and not suffer the consequences of their actions."

Li Yuan understood what Qin Qianyu was saying. He was stunned speechless by her rhetoric.

Seeing he had nothing to say, Qin Qianyu continued.

"Too much kindness will lead to heartlessness. Do you know of this saying?"

The couple both shook their heads. Qin Qianyu nodded and continued,

"Well it was from a few decades ago, It was a part of what has now become known as the Godhead phenomenon. It was the opening statement on a paper that was written by an atheist, Well, an atheist scientist to be exact."

Qin Qianyu explains that this Doctor wrote it in confrontation to the religious groups that had attacked him for his research into cloning, cell regeneration and genetic modification.

"They said and I quote, that they were only "attacking and condemning him because they are so kindhearted and he was heartlessness incarnate." Hard to believe right? The Doctor wrote to all the religious groups in response to everything they had thrown at him."

Qin Qianyu stoically reiterated exactly what the Doctors opening statement verbatim.

"One group claims that their figure head loves everyone, well everyone except! Homosexuals. Another group says that their figure head loves everyone unconditionally, but, if you don't place a sizeable amount of molecules made up of two hydrogen atoms that are attached by a covalent bond to one oxygen atom at an angle of 104.45° on an infants head, it'll burn in hell forever. Isn't that a condition? Well, I guess that's what the H20 is for. This is but a sample of the kindness that all these groups perpetuate. Yet I am the one they labelled as "heartlessness incarnate". To you, I say! Too much kindness will lead to heartlessness."

" . . . "

"In essence, your overindulgent kindness leads them to heartlessness. They can commit all manner of atrocities and it won't matter or affect them, because, In the end, they won't need their hearts anymore because they have a surrogate in you. You are their Godhead."

"I'm not telling you to be heartless to the entire world and all it's people. What I'm asking you is to show a little, and know a lot, of restraint. You need to have your own bottom line to your kindness."

"Li Yuan! Be yourself, be kind to everyone in general and principle, but, recognise those that really deserve further kindness."

Li Yuan nodded in affirmation. Then a chill ran down his spine. The tone in Qin Qianyu's voice went really dark as Qin Qianyu continued

"But I'll say this now, and I don't want to repeat it ever again."

"What you've done has affected my interest! And I don't like it one bit. And just so you know, it's not money, products or productivity, nor is it the factory or the investment."

"It's my family. That is my interest, that is my bottom line. If anything happened to them and those I classified as family, I will use every cent I own to make all those involved regret till even Yama can't stand them anymore, no matter how kindhearted or heartless they are. I will crush them."

Qin Qianyu said her piece. She was mad.

She and Su Yin left the front yard gate of the Li home in a somewhat somber state. Qin Qianyu had a lot of thoughts,

"It's impossible to have unconditional love for anyone or thing. That man's kindness is scary to the point of insanity."

She saw Li Yuan's excessive kindness as a weapon that could cause more harm than good to those around her.

Because he's susceptible to mind games, it'll be easy to use him against her family without him even knowing he's doing so.

She had her family and circle of friends to think about, if Li Yuan couldn't reign in this trait of his, she would rather sever the relationship than to put her family members in any position that's unfavourable or unpredictable.

Qin Qianyu could feel the intensity in Su Yin's stare, she chuckled lightly and queried,

"I won't disappear if you blink. What is it?"

"Xiaoyu, . . Are you really 16?"

"I'm 15,"

"Same, same, so are you!?"

"Mhm, why?"

"It's just, back there at Li Yuan's place, you were . . "

"Spectacular?"

Qin Qianyu cut in with a quirky smile. Su Yin nodded then added,

"And more so. It's hard to believe that you're only 15. To think, when I was 13, you were just born! Now, You're already such an adult!"

"Mhm, some circumstances have forced me to mature earlier than many of my peers. Now it's hard to go back to just being a regular middle school girl."

Su Yin's eyes went wide, her thoughts her own but Qin Qianyu could see that her mind was in a dark place.

"Did . . Did someone force themselves on you!? Tell me who they are! I'll go kill them till they're dead!"

" . . . "

"Calm down it's not that drastic, my purity is still mine, and will stay mine till I'm ready to give it. No one will ever get to take it, wether it's by force, tricks or coercion."

"Mhm, if someone tries, Cut it off! See if they dare do it again!"

"Haha! Alright, enough of all that, let's go check the house out and list all the things we'll need to fully furnish it."

Qin Qianyu chuckled. Her thoughts began to dwell on what Su Yin had said earlier. The her now is that of a 15 year old, but it's only been a few months at that age.

She was still an adult mind wise, however, to not cause too much suspicion she'd still do things that someone at 15 would only do.

Most times.

She had to admit to herself that there were times that her emotions made her act her age and often times it really confused but more so, frustrated her.

The incident after she had returned from the capital the last time was a case in point. She had become an emotional wreck.

The two minds had clashed. The adult mind in her was telling her to suck it up, because there are more important things to do.

While the 15 year old mind was screaming at the adult mind that it couldn't. The familiarity with Grandpa Wú caused her conflicting mind to ease up on each other.

She was really glad he was there at that time.

She found that when she was with her parents, Grandpa Wú, Wen Wú Ling and Lu Mingxi, she would almost fully revert to being 15. Only bits of adultness would surface.

Yet, around everyone else, she'll become more guarded and her 15 year old mind would take a backseat and the adult Qin Qianyu mind would come out and takeover as a safety measure.

"You and your family must be really excited for the big move, do you need me to organise an event?"

Qin Qianyu looked to Su Yin and answered her statement nonchalantly,

"No, I don't think they'll be able to handle it. The house alone will cause them to have heart attacks."

"Should I have an ambulance on standby?"

" . . . "

"That was just a figure of speech but we may actually need to do that. Hahaha!"

Qin Qianyu added with a light chuckle.

The way Su Yin drove to Qin Qianyu's home took the pair passed the turn off to Zhishi University.

Qin Qianyu gaze down the long stretch of road that led down to the University archway.

She managed to catch a glimpse of it and a few memories flooded her mind.

She had just turned 18, everyone around her were with their parents or loved ones.

She stood at the entrance alone. Just her and her suitcase and a throwaway message from Murong Meimei wishing her well.

At that time it had been 3 years since she last spoke to her parents or grand mother. Little did she know that from that day onwards, due to classes but mainly, Song Zhaoge and Murong Meimei, she would never get to see them let alone hear their voices ever again.

It'll only be a week after she stepped through that archway that she meets with 23 year old Song Zhaoge and fall into his trap during that trip and the nightmare that was, would begin.

The 10 years of being ignorant and blinded. 10 whole years of being lied to, bullied, scammed and married to the very person that would not only manipulate her like the female version of Li Yuan, but take her life with her own research of all things.

This was the main reason she was upset at Li Yuan. It was because she could see her former self in him.

"Hmph! For 10 years from that day! I'll make you both suffer miserably for those years! You're only 20 now, but I'm wondering if you'll make it 21."

The pair arrived at the mansion gates. Su Yin drove up the driveway and parked close to the entranceway.

Mr Chu met the two woman at the door.

"Miss Qin, Miss Su, it's good to see you both."

"Likewise Mr Chi, I'm excited to see the results of your hard work."

"I believe you'll be totally satisfied Miss Qin."

The trio walk through the main doors and were instantly awed by the what they saw.

Mr Chi gave the woman a tour of the entire house and explained everything that Qin Qianyu would need to know.

After which he went to take them both for a tour of the other projects namely the lab for Qin Qianyu and Grandpa Wú's courtyard and the training grounds.

"This courtyard is perfect. I think grandpa Wú will love it! . . Well he better,"

The pond and pool still had work to be done. But the courtyard, training grounds and lab were all completed and ready to be furnished.

"Miss Qin, the pond and pool will be done in a few days. The herb garden is done to the specifications that you gave and the garden, it's around 80% completed, but the other 20% are cosmetic pieces and such."

They toured both side properties and lastly the went to the fence line and followed it all away along.

All three properties where now enclosed and fenced off as one.

They all returned to the house and Mr Chi handed Qin Qianyu a tablet.

Using AR technologies, Qin Qianyu could link up to certain stores browse their catalogues and place items anywhere in the house and it would virtually appear on the screen and Qin Qianyu could see what it looked like.

If she's happy she could add it to the virtual cart and after making payment all the items would be sent to the house and installed for her at a cost.

"This is so cool! And super convenient! The furniture is elegant and bespoke. Haha! It fun I like it a lot."

In no time Qin Qianyu had fitted the entire home.

The layout was saved and Me Chi would be here when they delivered and installed her purchases.

There was nothing left for her to do now except finish well at SIC and bring everyone to their new home.

Qin Qianyu was in a better mood now after the mess she was involved with that morning.

She made another payment into Mr Chi's own account adding the 200 million bound she had promised him and his workers.
