Chapter 86: Quarantined.

After some time, Liu Bing had just finished interviewing Yang Mingchun and others from the industry who were also judges for Ouxiang Up.

Liu Bing came to Qin Qianyu for an interview, she declined but said it would be better for her to interview the victim.

Qin Qianyu called Lu Mingxi over and she along with Liu Bing got stuck into it.

Lu Mingxi explained what had happened and how she was here to buy materials for building the dresses she wanted to submit for Ouxiang Up.

Then how she came across this event then how she saw all of her designs being used.

Liu Bing nodded as she took in all of Lu Mingxi's responses. She then added,

"It is a shame indeed, but judging from the reaction to the dresses you designed, I say you have a very promising future ahead of you."

"Thanks,"

"Finally, I've spoken with some of the judging panel for Ouxiang Up and they had agreed to grant you a special pardon that came with an automatic entry into Renshi's School of design, you turned this down, can you tell us why?"

"I want to win Ouxiang Up, honestly and fairly, I want my entry into Renshi's school of design to be because of my own work and own merits not because of a technicality."

"Great, thank you Miss Lu, I hope all goes well with your design work and I also look forward to what you'll show us all at Ouxiang Up."

"Thank you for speaking with me Reporter Liu, and I'll definitely give my all for Ouxiang Up."

The interview ended and Liu Bing thanked Lu Mingxi again for her time. The pair chatted for a while and soon met up with Qin Qianyu and Ma Chen.

"Done?"

Qin Qianyu smiled and asked,

"Mhm, all done,"

"Alright, shall we head on out then?"

Ma Chen turned to Liu Bing and asked the same thing. She turned a little shy and nodded, her thoughts were still on the exchange from earlier.

The crew from Véridique bade farewell and left the event and Qin Qianyu along with Lu Mingxi did the same.

The pair had wanted to speak some more with Yang Mingchun but she had given a wave as she left during Lu Mingxi's interview.

Qin Qianyu knew that she would be heading to the hospital to give her farewells to a fallen comrade.

So the pair went about the rest of their day, not only did Lu Mingxi now need more material and fabrics, she also needed to solidify a new concept and idea.

While the two teens where shopping a manic scene was unfolding at Central General, the hospital that Lu Mingyu was at currently.

The entire private ward and all its rooms had been sealed off including Mu Liang's room.

As the pair were learning from each other, a call came to the room.

"Mr Mu's room?"

"Yes, this Mu Liang."

The call went on for a few minutes before he hung up and looked to Lu Mingyu with concern in his eyes.

"What's wrong? You don't look well,"

"Ahh, I don't know how to say this but,"

"But!? . . "

"But it looks like you'll be staying with me for a while longer."

"Excuse me? . . What do you mean?"

Mu Liang explained the phone conversation he just had.

The entire private ward has been locked down and is now in quarantine.

"Quarantine!? . . Did they give you a reason why?"

"They just said that a VVIP was brought in and it seems they have something really dangerous so as a precaution, the hospital's been advised to keep the ward locked down and everyone is to stay inside their rooms, . . current visitors as well."

Lu Mingyu cupped her mouth in surprise and shock. She soon collected herself and made some calls to let her family know of the turn of events and current situation.

Lu Li was at the hotel, he had just finished his meetings and was resting till Lu Mingxi and Lu Mingyu came back, then they would all head home together.

Qin Qianyu and Lu Mingxi had returned also with their arms filled with fabrics and other materials when Lu Li received Lu Mingyu's concerned call.

"Alright, I'll call the hospital and see if they can deliver your bag to you, do you need anything else?"

"No that should be fine for now, meals would still be provided so that's good . . I suppose,"

"Mhm, okay. please put Mr Mu on for me,"

"Huh!? . . One moment,"

Lu Mingyu handed her phone to Mu Liang and whispered that her father would like a word.

"Mr Lu,"

"Mr Mu, can I ask you to please keep an eye on my daughter in my stead, I'm sorry to have to ask this of an injured person."

"Ah, Mr Lu is being too serious. I'll definitely do my best in accommodating your daughter. In regards to this quarantine, the hospital has only done so as a precautionary measure, once it's sorted out, Lu Mingyu will be out of here in no time."

"You have my thanks teacher Mu."

Qin Qianyu and Lu Mingxi overheard the call, Lu Li explained to the situation the girls and then started to make some calls himself.

"Could it be because of the handsome wolf?"

Qin Qianyu immediately thought. She started stressing, thinking she may have missed some larvae inside of him.

Qin Qianyu called her parents and checked to make sure they weren't caught up in it all,

"We're fine, we just got home from our day out, will you be home for dinner?"

"I may bring guest home again, Lu Mingxi and her family were due to fly back to South City but with Lu Mingyu being caught up in the hospital's quarantine, they maybe staying a bit longer."

"Bring them here, there's plenty of room here for them, they can stay as long as they need to."

"Great, I'll let them know."

Qin Qianyu ended the call.

"Uncle Lu, my parents have ask me to bring you and Mingxi home with me, they said you can all stay as long as you need to."

Lu Li was about to decline then thought it rude to do so a second time.

"Thank you Xiaoyu, let's head to the hospital first and deliver Mingyu's bag then we can head over to your home."

The trio checked out of the hotel and caught a taxi to the hospital. Once there, Lu Li went in alone due to all the checks that he had to go through and complete just to deliver the bag.

He had tried to get more information about what's happening but was only told they were taking precautionary measures because of an admitted patient.

All he could get out of them was that it was because of a patient nothing else, they weren't trying to hide it, they just didn't know what they were dealing with.

Lu Li returned to the teens and told them what he was told before handing off his daughters bag.

"A patient was admitted and there's something wrong with them but are unable to identify it at this point. They said this is the reason for the countermeasures."

"Looks like I'll have to make a visit later tonight and see what's going on,"

Qin Qianyu thought as the the three of made their way to the taxi stop.

Lu Li made several stops buying many gifts before they headed to Qin Qianyu's home. Qin Qianyu had tried to stop the Lu's but her words went through one ear and out the other.

When the taxi entered Changsheng district, the Lu father and daughter pair were in awe and astonished by the homes they passed.

When the taxi drove through the gate and down the long driveway they were soon greeted by the grand home with both Qin Qianyu's parents waiting outside for them.

"Miss, I apologise for making you wait outside for us,"

Lu Li immediately apologised when seeing the pregnant Ouyang Zihan waiting with Qin Haoran outside.

Qin Qianyu made introductions, Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan were both pleased to meet Lu Li and Lu Mingxi was also happy to see them as well.

Everyone helped with the luggage and they all entered the house.

The couple soon saw all the gifts and Qin Qianyu could only sigh,

"I honestly tried to stop them, but, what can I say or do when they have painted on ears like these."

Qin Qianyu quipped as lightly tugged at Lu Mingxi's ears.

With that, the ice was broken and the two families became more comfortable around each other and soon they all started speaking more comfortably.

"Yu'er can you check on Bai Saan, he seemed a little stroppy when we came home. He didn't even want to eat after we went for a walk in the garden."

"He might be pinning for and missing Grandpa, I'll go see."

"Oh is that your cat? Mingyu couldn't stop gushing over him, I wanna see the little guy too!"

Cough, cough,

Qin Haoran choked on his own spit, Qin Qianyu gave a mischievous smile and nodded for Lu Mingxi to follow.

Moments later, a horrific scream echoed out and Lu Li recognised it as Lu Mingxi's voice. He rushed out the back to see what was wrong,

"Mingxi! . . Xiaoyu!"

A mortified Lu Li had ran out to see a large white Siberian Tiger in the back yard tussling with Qin Qianyu.

Lu Li went to rush the Tiger but soon felt a small hand on his shoulder holding him back.

Lu Li looked back to an apologetic Ouyang Zihan. She reassured him that there was no immediate danger then added,

"There's no need for panic, that's Bai Saan, our cat."

"That!? . . That's your house cat!?"

"Mhm, and our security system, and burglary deterrent, haha."

"What the hell!?"

Lu Li screamed internally. He soon saw Lu Mingxi sitting on the ground unmoving but unafraid.

Bai Saan started pouncing left and right before standing on his hind legs and patting the air with his front paws.

This action caused Lu Mingxi to squeal loudly again as she applauded excitedly.

"I think he's just bored being at home all the time, I'll have to plan a trip to the mountainside and get him outside to stretch his legs a little."

"I'll wait for grandpa to come home, he'll know a good spot to take him."

Qin Qianyu says to her mother.

"Speaking of which, have you heard from him at all?"

"I haven't , no. Your father would have said something too if he had call him."

Qin Qianyu nodded, finding out what's really happened to Grandpa Wú was now another item on her ever growing itinerary of things she has to do.

Qin Haoran joined everyone and the adults went and sat in the viewing pavilion and had tea with refreshments while the girls played with Bai Saan.

Qin Haoran retold the story of how the couple first met Bai Saan including the conversation that had happened in the car prior to that and how Ouyang Zihan reacted when she saw Bai Saan for the first time.

"He had been kept at Grandpa Wú's place, we had no idea till we were evicted from our home but after awhile and especially now that we've come here, it's like he's always been with us."

"Still . . How scary!"

"My daughter was in trouble, I didn't even think back then, my body just reacted on its own."

"You're really something special Sister Zihan! I'm surprised the little one wasn't delivered early!"

"Hahaha! Us too!"

Qin Haoran excused himself to check on dinner and left his wife to entertain Lu Li.

He felt really uncomfortable at that moment, with all the reminiscing the couple were talking about, his thoughts journeyed back to his first interaction he had with Qin Qianyu and all the nasty things he had said to her at the station, especially about her parents.

Having now met with them and gotten to know them better, he felt like shit. Qin Haoran came back and announced that dinner was ready.

"Brother Haoran, sister Zihan, please forgive me for apologising to you both so late. I should have done this the moment I arrived and you both welcomed me and my daughter into your home."

Lu Li was about to kowtow but was suddenly held up. He looked around to see Qin Qianyu holding him up.

She knew his thoughts, he was feeling guilty over what had happened in the past.

"Uncle it's fine, you don't have to do this."

"Brother Li please don't be like this, let the past be a reminder not a burden."

"That's right brother Li, Xiaoxi has already apologised sincerely for her and you long ago. To us, it's all water under the bridge."

"Mhm,"

Lu Li was speechless, he didn't know what else to say and could only give a throaty response, but he felt better in his heart.

After the air was cleared everyone settled in to have dinner.

The meal was delicious and filling. Afterwards the had tea and fruits before calling it a night.

Qin Qianyu showed the Lu's to their rooms. They were taken aback as the rooms were better than most hotels.

After everyone settled in for the night, Qin Qianyu waited till she felt that everyone was asleep before she headed out to her lab unseen and unheard.

The first thing she done was testing on the worms.

She wanted to find away to counter them but first, she needed to know what they were.

After doing a few online searches she came up with nothing. Qin Qianyu was tempted to seek assistance from the dark web, but she soon gave up that thought as the enemy could be monitoring anything to do with the worms and pass on false information.

She was stuck dead in her tracks. She needed to head to the hospital in person and retrieve the data from them to aid in her own research and theorise an antidote with their combined data.

Qin Qianyu stocked up her personal kit with items that could be helpful and left out her secret passageway.
