Chapter 90: Longest, short night.

Qin Qianyu ambled slowly out of the ward. She said nothing to no one, Qin Qianyu just got on her bike and left the hospital.

She was furious. There were still many things she wanted to find out from him as well.

"Hmph, creep! Well, at least I won't have to limit my interactions with him anymore and that master or whatever can't use him to get to me either."

Qin Qianyu didn't head home straight away though, she went into the city.

She entered one of the buildings that she had purchased. This had become a clandestine lab within the city for her convenience.

Qin Qianyu went to the main office of the building. Inside it was a large safe and inside that safe she had installed several bio waste and bio safes.

She took out all the worms that she had brought with her and stowed them away.

She was glad that she did, she didn't want any of them at her lab at home knowing that they could potentially be a bio weapons of mass destruction.

In the bio safe she added her countermeasure of choice, quickfire.

The last thing that she ever wants is for these parasitic worms to escape into the world.

She also took the portion of the commander worm and held it in front of her face,

"Microbial intelligence, it's the only thing I can think of that would have adaptive behaviour in single cell organisms that I'll be able to use for the recreation of a new you!"

Qin Qianyu muttered out aloud.

She was thinking about how to simulate the embedded commands successfully into a cloned commander worm similar to that of a worm with swarm intelligence. But also how she could control it herself as an extra precaution.

Qin Qianyu looked at the time and sighed heavily.

She stowed the commander worm piece away and headed into another room.

"This has to be the longest, short night in the history of nights!"

She closed the door after entering that room.

Qin Qianyu had so much she needed done but so little time to do it all in.

She wasn't the only one thinking along those lines.

The short night was moving along slowly for many.

Inside Mu Liang's room, the pair hadn't fallen back to sleep. Both were still awake but didn't say a single word.

One was embarrassed beyond words, as for the other, he was lost in thought over what had transpired.

With all his inner pathways open now along with all the impurities in his body being flushed away, he could now start cultivating properly using the full breathing technique of his father and also to strengthen his needle work and massaging techniques.

Lu Mingyu on the other hand didn't know how special the gift she got from Qin Qianyu was.

All she knew was that Qin Qianyu had made her experience the most horrid of poops in her entire life, and worse still, someone else had to sit in there smelling it too the entire time they were in there.

But what really surprised her was that her body felt a million times better just from that single breathing exercise session.

She felt like a new person, she felt reborn.

Within the same ward but in another room a similar situation was going on.

Wen Wú Ting sat on the sofa staring blankly at the wall.

His thoughts were a complete mess, as were his emotions. What was plaguing him the most was how he misinterpreted his boldness as something endearing.

He never once considered Qin Qianyu's own feelings, he just thought that this is how a man should be.

But thinking about it now in hindsight, and with it replaying over in his mind with the perceived experience that may have befallen Qin Qianyu,

Wen Wú Ting realised how creepy he actually was.

As he sat there deeply reflecting, his phone rang for the fourth time from the same number.

It was his mother Xi Susu. She sat on the hood of her car which was parked at a reserved car park for a mountain and it was almost 3am.

She wanted to speak with him about her father and to see if he could somehow persuade his grandfather into releasing Wen Wenxiong and Wen Wú Ling.

Xi Susu's father always shared a close bond with her eldest child and the youngest child.

It was always Wen Wú Ping that missed out on everything from his grandfather. Xi Susu would always come up with an excuse for her father however, Wen Wú Ping soon learnt that he was nothing in his grandfather's eyes.

At a certain point he stopped caring about it and only worried about himself.

In her heart she could see her former self in her eldest son. He had developed a strong fidelity for his grandfather that went beyond what she use to have and it scared her.

She was worried for him, for all her children.

"Aaaaargh!"

Xi Susu's harrowing scream echoed up the mountain causing all the nocturnal animals to become active and more alert.

At the same time the researchers and doctors were working hard on their given task.

The man with thick glasses was beside himself as he was locked away in confinement.

He truly believed that as a scientist, he had done nothing wrong. He was experimenting and it showed a positive result.

"Fucking bitch! So what if the mother worm had exploded! . . Just get another fucking one!"

He blamed all of this on Qin Qianyu. He didn't want or felt the need to reflect on his actions.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the city, Qin Qianyu left her work room drained.

She had tried and practiced techniques from the "future" book of hers. She found several techniques in it that would be extremely useful to her in the future and now seemed like the perfect opportunity to test and try them out.

What she didn't consider however was the high mental taxation it had on her.

Qin Qianyu popped a five form pill straddled her bike and headed to Changsheng district.

When she came out from her home lab, she went over to Grandpa Wú's courtyard. She could always count on him for a myriad of reasons to help her through.

She sighed at the empty space she found herself in,

"Where the hell are you old man!? . . "

Qin Qianyu flopped down on his bed, although she wasn't feeling physically tired, she was still mentally exhausted.

She breathed in deeply and tried to empty her mind. She sat up on the bed and huffed.

"What kind of master abandons their best disciple!?"

"You're my only disciple!"

"Grandpa!?"

Qin Qianyu bounced off the bed excitedly but it soon turned into disappointment. She saw no one around. She was alone in the room.

What she heard was a phantom echo of his voice, an audible hallucination brought on by stress and triggered to relieve that stress.

Deflated, Qin Qianyu ambled slowly out of the courtyard and then decided to do some light meditating before doing her morning exercises.

After an hour of meditative nothingness, Qin Qianyu got into her morning routine starting with her breathing exercise.

An hour later she started her training on the training grounds. At this time Bai Saan had woken from his slumber and pounced towards Qin Qianyu excitedly.

Qin Qianyu had wanted to draw some healing from him earlier but thought it best to let him have his sleep.

When she saw Bai Saan coming over she was all smiles and soon ravaged him with pets and cuddles.

"Good morning sleepy head, did you rest well?"

"Awora . . "

"Okay, . . I'll take that as a yes!"

Qin Qianyu mixed her time between "playing" and her own training. Bai Saan seemed to enjoy it too.

His speed was increasing a bit at a time and Qin Qianyu soon noticed this,

"Bai Saan! . . You're like the animal version of a genius! . . Hahaha!"

Today's weapon of choice were a pair of Shuang Guai or most commonly known as Tonfa's.

As she went through the routine, three adults were watching from the second floor balcony.

"Xiaoyu is really good, does she train like this every morning?"

"Mhm, she usually trains with her grandpa, but ever since he's been away on business she's been training by herself."

After her morning training, Qin Qianyu played for real with Bai Saan before washing up and sharing a meal with everyone.

Lu Li explained that he was heading to the hospital with Mingxi. Qin Haoran loan the pair a car for them to use while they were staying here and told them to make this home their home.

"Mingxi, Uncle Lu, if you need anything please don't hesitate to call. We'll absolutely do our best to accommodate you all."

"Mhm, we will. Thank you everyone. Both my daughters are truly blessed to have made a friend and family like you and yours."

Lu Li gave his thanks and he and Lu Mingxi set off.

Qin Qianyu's parents were heading out for the day also. They followed the Lu's out and left together in seperate vehicles.

They wanted to buy more groceries seeing that the Lu's would be staying for some time.

This left Qin Qianyu free to herself which she didn't mind as she still had a lot of things to do personally anyway.

According to Xiao Yixuan, an announcement regarding SIC was scheduled for today.

Qin Qianyu had also setup a meeting with Li Yuan to start manufacturing a set of skin care products so that they would be in stock once she starts marketing them.

There were two other things she want to do also and they both needed Xiong Jianguo of Feng and Xiong to accomplish this.

After which Qin Qianyu wanted to head to her clandestine lab to check on the work she had done earlier this morning where she'll spend the rest of the day.

The first two things on her list she could do from home, the other two however required some finesse and timing.

Around 9am the press conference started.

Qin Qianyu settled in and watched as several representative gave a report on what they had investigated, the results of their investigation, before the impending outcome.

Qin Qianyu really had to hand it to Xiao Yixuan and the other members of PIT.

"Whoa! When PIT set out to investigate they sure check under every pebble thrice over!"

Among the crimes and offences that PIT had uncovered were extensive bribery, corruption, sexual coercion and slavery of both male and female students, extortion, blackmail, forgery of not only academic scores and rankings but also of individual graduate degrees and a few masters and doctorates.

The investigation lead not only to Zhishi, but also to several external sources such as local government officials, agencies and a few big families within the capital.

It didn't end there, there were a bevy of small and large companies involved in underhanded tactics facilitated by Zhao

The former Vice principal Zhao had bought off a few officials of SIC with all of them being Invigilators from Zhishi university.

Their jobs were to oversee all of the groups comprising of those that paid extra to pass in order to enter Zhishi.

With this revelation, SIC was in the clear. They announced that a new test weekend would be going ahead for all those that had entered the main competition.

Zhishi had officially been struck off the list of universities that were available for the winners to choose from.

However they also stipulated that Zhao and the members of faculty that he had bribed where no longer employed by the university and would allow the winners to still choose their own path.

They just noted that if they chose Zhishi then they did so at their own risk and understanding of what had taken place.

"You wouldn't cut the entire apple tree down just because there were a few rotten ones from that tree,"

Qin Qianyu understood them as giving Zhishi away forward as it was only a select few that had spoiled it for the entire university.

She started to wonder what they did to pull that one off with the government.

The official announced that all eligible SIC participants would be awarded compensation and that they will be officially notified of when the continuation of SIC would be commencing.

Soon it went into the family involvement of the two Chen siblings, namely the Xiu and Chen family.

The official spoke how both of the family's had used their personal connections and influence to try and protect the Chen siblings from being implicated in Cheng Yifei's death as the entire incident of her being poisoned had stemmed from an incident Chen Yongqing had started.

"I would like to add, that although these are the findings from our independent fact hunts, the decision on whether or not the siblings involvement in this will be handled by the courts. However they will not be walking free as there are other matters that they must and will answer for."

As the official continued, they listed out all the crimes that they had committed to date.

The official also included the immense smear campaign made against Cheng Yifei and her father, the organised groups that attacked several bonafide charities, the destruction of her grave and the kidnapping and assault of two individuals related to the gave incident.

Qin Qianyu knew they were talking about Lu Mingxi and Mu Liang at this point. The fact that they didn't mention any names could be to offer the pair privacy, also due to the fact that the pair are also in quarantine at Central General and how that matter had to remain a secret for the time being.

The official then announced that there was an incident involving a connection to Ouxiang Up.

A participants designs were stolen and used in an event which led to several arrests of all the individuals involved.

They added that no further action will be taken or necessary as it was an isolated issue with only a judge and sponsor of Ouxiang Up that had made an investment and wasn't involved directly at all with the theft of the participants submission and personal designs.

The press conference ended with the offical stating that all persons of interest are now in custody awaiting their day in court.

Next up, Qin Qianyu had a video conference with Li Yuan. She hoped that he had sorted himself out by now otherwise she would end the collaborative relationship between the two.

Qin Qianyu started the session and waited for everyone else to connect.

There were three people for the conference, Qin Qianyu, Su Yin and Li Yuan.

"The purpose of this conference is to ascertain the validity of continued collaboration between myself and Li Yuan in terms of the investment I've made or whether I should cut my losses now and find another suitable factory."

" . . . "

"Mr Li, you've given me plenty of reasons to be discouraged and almost wary of your ability to properly Judge the situations that you keep on getting yourself into. What assurances do you plan to initiate to make all my investment and products worth being betted on you?"

Li Yuan first apologised then explained that he's willing to sign a contract stating that he would relinquish all rights to the factory and have it as collateral compensation that would effectively see Qin Qianyu as its sole owner.

Qin Qianyu frowns then added,

"Mr Li! That's not assurance! That's a cop out! What's to stop you from just letting it all go if the shit hits the fan because of your good natured character leaving the mess created for me to take care of? . . There is none. The best assurance you can give me is peace of mind that you'll be more diligent in both your work and heart."

" . . . "

"I've said it before. My interest and bottom line are my family and the people around me. "

"I have no need for you factory nor do I want it. If I did, I wouldn't have made an investment, I still would have bought the factory from your wife."

Qin Qianyu made her thoughts known to Li Yuan and sent an electronic form of three recipes. The essential ingredient were the medical pallets that she had made personally.

Li Yuan, now fully understood this young lady. At first when she had said those words he had thought that she was only saying it for his ears to hear.

He promised in his heart to work harder now, especially since he's been given this chance.

These pallets have no other use than for the products that would be made.

One pallet added to the recipe she had sent to Li Yuan would make 1000 batches of the skin care products.

She had amassed a few hundred thousand of these pallets made from leftover ingredients she had been using to practice with.

These had been stored at grandpa Wú's studio warehouse and had been moved here with all his belongings. She had already sent out for them to be delivered to Li Yuan's factory, ACU.

"Mr Li, I'll leave all the legalities with you, that includes having all the products registered, patented, approved and certified."

"I understand."

"Su Yin, I'll have you liaise with the design team you had for Véridique to create the packaging of these products ACU will be producing."

"Got it,"

Qin Qianyu nodded then spoke to Li Yuan.

"For now I'll only have you produce these three products. Depending on how well you do, will depend on when we'll embark on producing pharmaceuticals products."

"I won't let you down Miss Qin, and thank you for putting your trust in me."

Li Yuan left the video conference leaving Qin Qianyu and Su Yin to talk other business.
