Chapter 103: Awake.

Qin Qianyu made it back to the large chamber everyone else was in. Bai Saan was ecstatic to see her safe and sound.

He bounded over and nudged her with his big head. She sighed as she gave him a pat.

She went over to check Grandpa Wú's pulse again and concerns soon showed on her face.

"When it rains, it pours!"

Qin Qianyu quickly applied needles to his body to reinforce his internals against the radiation that was coursing through his body.

Grandpa Wú soon reacted to this and started coughing up copious amounts of blood.

"He over exhausted himself getting here and helping us, this obviously put a huge toll on his body."

Qin Qianyu felt extremely guilty for him having to rush over here only to end up in this state. She understood that he must had found out about all of this and even what Xiong Jianguo was up to.

"Just a little more time. I'll get that extract from the Monarch Dendrobium, then I'll have all I need to create the suppressor for you, then you'll never be like this ever again."

She felt his pulse again and started frowning. She couldn't hold back the spread of poison in him for long.

Qin Qianyu sat in contemplation for a while before she made a decision. She would treat him within the next couple days.

Qin Qianyu carried the unconscious Wú Haodong and together, she along with Bai Saan left to the closest city to them.

After a few hours she found a city.

"Be good alright! . . Make sure not to get caught. Try not to attack anyone unless they try to attack you."

Bai Saan lifted his paw understanding her meaning and entered a forest close to the city.

Qin Qianyu went straight to a hotel, after getting a room she flashed out the window and went to fetch Grandpa Wú.

"I won't take long, I'll just scan the area first and stock up on some things and I'll be back."

She says as she settled him in the bed before making a beeline towards the city hospital.

As Qin Qianyu spoke to the unconscious Wú Haodong, a similar scene inside a hospital was playing out.

"I'll figure out something real soon. Please stay with me a little longer."

A man says to an unconscious woman lying in the hospital bed.

Soon, a hospital staff came in and spoke with the man. It wasn't a pleasant conversation,

"Just give me a little more time, I can pay up I promise."

"Sorry, that's out of our hands. It's hospital policy that if you can't pay, then we can't operate."

The hospital staff that was speaking turns to leave. The man falls to the ground in tears. He was Zhang Mi, the manager that Song Zhaoge had fired.

His wife was in hospital in desperate need of an urgent operation, but since he lost his job and income he hasn't been able to afford the treatments that his wife desperately needed.

Qin Qianyu was walking through the wards when she spotted Zhang Mi.

She was surprised when she saw him and all that was happening,

"So this is why I couldn't find him, he'd been here the entire time it seems."

Qin Qianyu walked over to where Zhang Mi was and looked inside.

She saw a woman lying in the bed, she walked passed Zhang Mi and picked up the woman's chart.

"Eosinophilia . . ?"

"Is she here for a bone marrow transplant?"

Qin Qianyu asked as she turned to a shocked Zhang Mi, he was wondering who this hooded woman was.

He said nothing and nodded,

"Why haven't you started the procedures yet then? . . Are you missing a match? Why not go the corticosteroids route?"

"No, we have found a match, it's just that, I've already spent all our money on corticosteroids testing, with but it wasn't positive."

"I see, so there's a strong possibility that the problem lies with the granulocytes digestive enzymes and cytotoxic proteins, although these are used to destroy parasites found in eosinophilia, both of these can also damage healthy tissues."

Qin Qianyu thought for a bit, then looked to Zhang Mi.

"I can help you."

Zhang Mi looked to Qin Qianyu as if she were a crazy person.

"I've nothing to give in return through,"

"Yes you do! . . I want you!"

" . . I . . I'm happily married, please leave now,"

"Haha, where's your mind at? . . If a woman says she wants you, you automatically think it's for something dirty?"

"Ah! . . I'm sorry, my mind is on my wife, I meant no disrespect."

"Haha, it's fine. Well let me explain. What I want is your talent. You use to work for Song Zhaoge correct?"

"Who . . Who are you?"

"Then I was right. I have a partnership with someone, they're about to start pushing out their products soon. At the moment, it's just a few beauty products but that would soon grow into medicines and other pharmaceuticals by the years end. That's how you'll pay me back."

"Okay, please help my wife."

Qin Qianyu nodded to Zhang Mi. She opened up her pouch and pulled out her needles. She soon started her sessions on the sick and unconscious woman.

Qin Qianyu explains what she was doing to Zhang Mu's wife as she spoke with him. She told him that once she was finished, his wife wouldn't need the operation, she would be able to use corticosteroids to treat her illness instead.

An hour later, Qin Qianyu pulled the last needle out. She took a small porcelain jar out and poured the liquid five form into her mouth and helped it go down by massaging the woman's throat.

"I'm done now. Give me your phone and bank account number."

Zhang Mi did as Qin Qianyu asked. She then sent him two electronic documents. These were the standard contracts she had saved to her phone.

Next she sent him 20 million yuan straight to his account.

When he saw this he looked to Qin Qianyu shocked.

"Read the contracts, the most important one is confidentiality agreement. The money that was sent to your account just now is your signing bonus. Use it to pay the hospital bill, retesting of corticosteroids and all of your outstanding bills and debts if you have any."

"Once the retests are done, you'll know that you won't have to do the surgery."

Zhang Mi was gobsmacked. He truly didn't know what to say.

"I don't know how we can ever thank you."

"That's easy, just do your new job well, or at the very least, to the best of your ability."

"Mhm, I definitely will."

He read the contract as Qin Qianyu massaged his wife's limbs. Soon, Qin Qianyu heard him gasp.

"Do you have grudges against the Song family too?"

"Mhm, . . You could say that it's irreconcilable, I'll be happy as long as they don't profit from anything we do from here on out. I mean, look what they did to you for a little bit of profit. If they can do that, then they are sure capable of much worse."

Zhang Mi nodded in agreement. He signed that contract right away and started on the next one. Soon gasps came from his mouth again.

"My boss is a child?"

"Mhm, that's right, hence this contract. Once she's an adult however that'll all change, but she hopes that it'll stay quiet for a little longer still. She's not doing all this solely for profit or fame. She just wants to provide for the people around her. So until she comes of age please be mindful of your words regarding her."

"I understand."

Zhang Mi found no loopholes of any kind in the contracts. They were basic and to the point without any form of word play that could be used to trap him or against him or vice versa for that matter.

He had seen plenty contracts over his time. This was a first for him where the signee had more power with the contract than the offering party.

He felt good about all of this and soon his eyes started to well up with tears as he thought of how stressful it had all been on him and his family the past few months.

The reason Qin Qianyu couldn't find Zhang Mi was because he had come to Laos where the same treatment that his wife needed wasn't as expensive as it was in the capital.

Zhang Mi had sold their home and anything sellable or worth a little bit of money just for his wife.

What had hurt him the most though was that both he and his wife's family quickly disowned him and his own family once they heard he had been fired from Song Medical and that his wife was sick.

Zhang Mi's parents had asked him to do the impossible. He couldn't believe what he was hearing from them. He didn't know how both

of his parents could be so heartless.

His own parents wanted him to get a divorce and leave his ill wife. His wife's father wanted nothing to do with her either which was doubly heart wrenching.

He wanted nothing to do with the child of his now deceased wife. To him, his child didn't exist just like her mother.

The only person who went out of their way was his younger brother. He left his son in the care of his younger brother till he could sort out all this mess. He was really proud of his little brother and he was more than happy to help where he could even helping him out financially.

Thinking up to here, Zhang Mi made a transfer straight away. Soon his phone started ringing.

"Big Brother! . . What's going on? . . Is Sister-in-law alright? . . Are you alright? . . Why are you sending me all this money!? . . You didn't do something you shouldn't have did you?"

Zhang Mi was bombarded with question after question from his panicking little brother.

"Zhang Jun, calm down. Everything is fine, I've done nothing wrong. And I feel your sister-in-law will be fine too."

"Really!? . . Haha! That's great news! . . But this money? . . This is a lot of money do you need me to do something with it?"

"That's for you! . . All of it, it's to thank you for everything you've done for the three of us even though you're not in the best place financially neither. Use it well. I've been given a new job, so when we come back, we'll all find us a new house to move into and everything will be how it should be, alright"

"That's great news, I'm really happy for you. Have . . have you spoken with mum and dad?"

"There's nothing left to be said. They said their piece and made their position clear. I'll respect it. Since it's come to this, there's nothing more that needs to be said."

"Mhm, I understand. Oh wait, hold on, Zhang Mu wants to talk to you."

Zhang Mi spoke with his son for some time. Soon Zhang Mu wanted to hear his mother voice.

Zhang Mi's heart dropped he didn't know what to say. His wife had been in an unconscious state since she started showing symptoms and the eventually arrived here.

Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder. He jumped in fright and turned to follow the path of the hand that had touched him.

Zhang Mi's eyes went wide with excitement he almost dropped his phone on the ground. He was so overwhelmed he started wailing as he quickly clutched his wife's hand.

"Yan Xiao! . . Yan Xiao!"

The woman was awake for some time now. At first she was surprised that a strange hooded woman was massaging her limbs.

Even when Qin Qianyu noticed that she had woken up she didn't stop her actions, nor did she tell Zhang Mi that his wife had woken up.

Qin Qianyu just smiled at the woman as she continued her therapeutic treatment.

She heard everything that her husband was saying and her own heart hurt. She couldn't hold back and reached out for her husband.

Qin Qianyu smiled at the simple interaction that was happening between the two. It made her envious for sometime.

Zhang Mi handed the phone over to his wife after tell their son that his mummy was awake.

The pair chatted for a while over the phone, as they did, Qin Qianyu pulled Zhang Mi aside.

"Listen, I need a laboratory to use for a couple of days, do you have any useable and reliable contacts here?"

"Well, I'm friends with a professor at the local Medical university. I could ask him for a favour. I can't promise you anything, but I'll give it a shot."

"Thanks, you're a life saver, literally."

Zhang Mi made a call from the hospital phone. After some time he gave Qin Qianyu a positive reply. The professor will bring a key and map of the campus over later today and she could use his own personal lab for the next week.

Qin Qianyu thank Zhang Mi and set out to set the rest of her plans in motion.

She left the Zhang family and carried on doing what she had come here to do.

As Qin Qianyu left, Zhang Mi told his wife what had happened. As he explained the situation to his wife, Qin Qianyu was shopping in the hospital's pharmacy.

She stocked up on the items she needed to help Grandpa Wú in the interim and also to help with making the suppressor for him.

Once done, she went out and bought some supplies. She also bought some meat and headed out to the forest to look for Bai Saan.

"Saan! . . Come and eat!"

Qin Qianyu cried out aloud. A moment later she heard some thunderous thuds bounding towards her. She shook her head as his burst speed slowed down and he started to amble over to her.

"If you're this heavy footed, the enemy would hear you before they even see you. Not only that, the sound will alert them of the direction you're coming from. This isn't good, especially away from the safety of home. I know you like to sleep lots, but use this time to practice as well okay!"

Qin Qianyu admonished the Tiger. When he heard Qin Qianyu, Bai Saan lowered his head in shame. He came up close to her and lightly nudged his head against her body.

Qin Qianyu pouted, then quickly gave in. She ran her hands through his fur and petted him heavily.

She quickly groomed Bai Saan's fur with just her fingers alone. After that, Qin Qianyu feed him and had a quick chat before heading back to check on Grandpa Wú.

Qin Qianyu entered her room and check the old man over. With a damp towel, she lightly wiped him down before making Grandpa Wú comfortable again.

She sighed heavily as she tucked him in, then muttered to the unconscious man,

"I'll be heading off shortly. I'll be as quick as I can, so don't die while I'm away, or I'll kill you!"

Qin Qianyu left right after saying all that. Her next stop was Cebu, in the Philippines.
