Chapter 108: Folly aplenty.

Now it made sense why this woman was out buying these gifts. The martial arts book and the tea set with the guardian beasts on them would be perfect for someone of his stature.

Lin Xie took a look around the packed ward and continued,

"You asked why we've come in so late?"

"That young lady doesn't like showing off, nor does she use or rely on her connections to the old guard or Gaoshan for that matter. She's a woman who only wanted to show piety to the older generation with a couple of gifts. That is also why we didn't step in earlier. Because she wouldn't want us to. But now, that all changed because of this hospital and it's staff and how it treats its own patients."

"The police had to let Tang Mu go because someone above the investigation team told them too. All those involved have made a very grave mistake. So Tang Mu! the Tang Family and their dogs, those lying Tang Lawyers, those corrupt officers and you, the scamming medical staff."

"Since this is the game you all started, then Wú Dan, Gaoshan, and the old guard himself will play with all of you! . . . Please expect the same courtesy you have all extended to the young lady, 1000 fold."

As Lin Xie said so, he waved over a team of medical staff from a private hospital and they went in to collect Wu Yihuan.

He then gave another nod and police came in and arrested the hospital staff for their attacks made against the unconscious Wu Yihuan.

"You're under arrest for attacking the young woman, please come with us."

"You're under arrest for attempted murder, Doctor, please come with us . . "

"You're under arrest for . . "

The hospital staff went without a fuss. The doctor on the other hand tried to protest the charge. The arresting officer sneered at her and responded,

"You recorded yourself switching off the vital machines for the patient! That in itself is why you're being arrest for attempted murder."

"But, but, she's alive! . . I didn't mean to, it's not my fault! There were others that did it too."

The woman protested. She started pointing out other doctors that were on duty and had done similar things.

Lin Xie looked around a saw a few of them, frantically swiping at their phones.

Lin Xie just scoffed at their efforts to delete any incriminating and damming evidence.

What they didn't know though, was that Gaoshan staff had already cloned the medical staff phones. And also, unless the phone in question is physically destroyed, then all data can be recovered from deletion.

Gaoshan staff onsite made notes of the people deleting the files on their phones. There were more that 15 staff members that were caught out by Gaoshan. They wouldn't let any of them get away with it.

Lin Xie then gave another flick of his head and the lawyer handed over a signed notice to the hospital's director.

Gaoshan will be suing the hospital for its role and negligence against Wu Yihuan.

He then followed the private hospital staff out with Wu Yihuan, stopping only once to settle the bill for Wu Yihuan then leaving.

The hospital went into crisis mode immediately following the revelations of Wu Yihuan's "true"identity.

The hospital board were meeting in another part of the hospital at the same time all of this was going on.

The atmosphere inside that very room was extremely tense. A middle aged man in a sharp blue suit humphed and stated,

"Can't we just give them money for her and an apology? Why is there so much drama over such a thing!?

BANG!

An elderly man slammed his hand down hard on the table.

"You want to give Gaoshan money! . . You want to fucking . . give . . a pebble to the Mountain, while saying sorry!?"

" . . . "

"No wonder this fucking hospital has been going to shit! It's because of idiots like you!"

"It wouldn't be that bad right?"

The same angry old man looked to the second idiot that just spoke and sneered'

"Wouldn't be that bad!? . . Have you squeezed blood from a stone?"

"No, it's impossible!"

"For everyone else it is, but for Gaoshan, no. Do you know why? Because this hospital is that damn stone and WE! Are the blood! . . Wouldn't be that bad?"

" . . . "

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"You fucking fucks! . . Useless! The lot of you! Unless any of you idiot sticks have something of value to share, then shut the fuck up!"

The elder was incessant with his hand as he banged out every spoken word.

"Elder Song please calm down,"

The angry old man was indeed the same Elder Song that saw Song Zhaoge off at the airport.

Song Zhaoge's grandfather Song Liwei.

His entire grand plan included this hospital, he wanted to make this place the be all end all of all hospitals in the nation, with all its top notch staff, facilities, and future pharmaceuticals.

It was also Song Zhaoge's springboard while he was at Cheonjae, Korea's elite university of medicine and science.

"Shit if anyone there finds out about this, then Zhaoge's chances of bringing over one or two of those women would be zero."

Song Liwei says internally. He then turned to his assistant,

"You, get that reporter from Véridique in here. Let's make a deal with her, I need her to not write anything detrimental about this hospital and tell her to name her price."

Song Liwei then contacted Song Zhaoge and told him to push harder to get those girls.

The same conversations were happening every where now. The law firm that the Tang family used issued a statement immediately.

"We here at Wing Law would like to address the accusations made against us by Gaoshan. After an internal review of those involved, we have found ourselves truly lacking."

"For this, we sincerely apologise to all the victims and parties related to all of this. This has made my heart hurt on so many levels. The lawyers who were involved with this have resigned voluntarily. All have now, had their employment with Wing Law terminated as of 20 minutes ago."

"We like to point out that all of these former employees acted out of self interests and did so without informing the partners of our office. They did so knowingly behind Wing Law's back whilst still using Wing Law's name."

"We at Wing Law will continue to work hard as members of a just society and will do so whilst reflecting on all the actions and subsequent damage made by all our former employees."

At the Tang Mansion, Tang Mu was relaxing by his pool, a bevy of beautiful young woman all in bathing suits clamoured around him all vying for his attention as EDM music played in the background.

He was currently unawares of the incident that had taken place at the hospital Wu Yihuan was admitted to.

As he chatted away to the women around him, his phone started to ring. He looked to the ID, it was his elder brother.

"What now?"

Tang Mu asked annoyedly. A deep and heavy voice came through on the other side.

"Leave the country now!"

"The fuck do you mean!?"

"The girl you hit, she's family of the old guard!"

"So! . . The fuck is an old guard anyway!?"

"Your death! That's what an old guard is!"

Tang Mu's brother explained to him the gravity of the situation in full.

"You have to do something! This only happen because you wanted that fucking book! Why do I have to leave!?"

"Hmph! Suit yourself, if you wanna die, then stay right where you are."

The call ended and Tang Mu was left hanging.

"Fuck!"

He yelled out aloud. He got up immediately called for the elder and left the mansion in haste.

As he was driving away, a slew of police cars were heading to his mansion. He cast a look back and started sweating bullets.

"Faster! . . Drive faster!"

He yelled anxiously at the elder driving.

"Young master, where should we go?"

"Take me south, we'll cross the boarders and fly out from there, then we'll head to mothers condo in the States."

"Yes young master."

Elsewhere, Qin Qianyu was hanging upside down, her leg caught in a snare trap.

This was the second time she had gotten herself snagged. She used her core muscles to bring her body up and cut the snare with her blade.

Qin Qianyu repositioned her body as she fell and landed on her feet.

"That should be the last trap . . Right?"

Qin Qianyu turned to Wú Haodong and asked. He just shrugged his shoulders. He honestly didn't know.

"You could have dodge those earlier, are you tired? Do you need to rest?"

"No, I just wanted to make it easier for you."

"For me?"

"Mhm, you see, I've only just manage to cure you, although my initial diagnosis shows that the radiation is gone, until a comprehensive test is done, I'll not let anything harm you."

"That's the only excuse you came up with after clumsily falling into that trap?"

"I . . Ah, . . Mhm,"

"Hahaha! . . Alright, please protect me well then."

The pair and their cat carried on through the passages, as they did, Qin Qianyu asked a lot of questions regarding the families that Wú Haodong had mentioned before.

A thought then hit her as she turned to Wú Haodong and she asked,

"Does madam Yang know my identity too?"

"I want to say no, but knowing her big nose, she's probably figured it out already."

"I'm sorry, this whole mess is because of me, if it wasn't for me going to help the fiendish wolf, we wouldn't be in this mess."

Wú Haodong noticed the change in Qin Qianyu at the mention of Wen Wú Ting. He cocked an eyebrow at her as she continued,

"This whole triple zero business sure is a pain. What I don't clearly understand though, is how a lawyer could action such a thing?"

"Xiong Jianguo could because he was a member of UQT."

"Pfft! . . Vain much? . . If it was you alone then it would make sense, but calling Xiong Jianguo a "cutie" is a bit much don't you think?"

" . . . "

"He's a member of the Qilin team, well he was, that's how he was able to do it. He had taken over from his father's role, but now, argh, let's not talk about him anymore."

Wú Haodong was annoyed at the fact that he was ultimately betrayed by Xiong Jianguo for such a dumb reason.

He had a feeling though that he may have been goaded into acting or something to that effect.

Qin Qianyu nodded and decided not to bring him up anymore. Soon an alert went off on Qin Qianyu's phone.

It was an update that Véridique had put out.

It outlined what had happened at that hospital and the impromptu press conference Lin Xie had made.

Wú Haodong looked worriedly at Qin Qianyu,

"So what of the former commander? What are you going to do about her? Now that it's been made known to all that she's my "relative" how is she supposed to live a new quiet life now?"

"Ahh, . . We'll just make it work somehow. I'm just glad that she's out of that hospital and can receive the proper care she needs to recover properly. I'll take it from there when we return."

"Mhm, . . "

The pair soon made it to the entrance of the room. When the pair opened the door they were greeted by stale air and dust.

The trio ventured forward but found nothing in the room. It was completely empty.

Dismayed by the find, Qin Qianyu sat on the ground disappointedly and laid back. As she did however, she looked to the ceiling and saw the most wondrous sight.

The ceiling looked like the night sky. A cosmic churning of stars, moons, coloured gas cloud nebula's and universes.

"Wah! . . So prettyful!"

Qin Qianyu exclaimed excitedly. Wú Haodong looked at her and mumbled,

"Pretty full!? . . Is this a young people thing to make up nonsense words?"

Qin Qianyu said nothing. She only cupped her mouth in amazement. Wú Haodong saw this and looked up as well,

Yet he wasn't amazed like Qin Qianyu, we was panicked. It was like he was ready to go to war.

"What the fu . . "

Wú Haodong muttered aloud as he entered a fighting stance.

As for Bai Saan, he sat there staring brightly and would occasionally raise a paw as if he were answering questions to someone.

All three of them saw something different than the others. Then with a blink of an eye, it all faded away.

"Did you see that!? Haha, wasn't it wonderful!? It was totally amazing it was like I was flying through space."

Wú Haodong nodded his head then shook it. This confused Qin Qianyu but she soon learnt why,

"I saw hell, . . It was worse than hell, I hope to never see it eventuate . . Ever!"

Bai Saan was sitting down on his hind legs, his back, rigid and straight with his eyes closed as if committing everything he saw to memory.

Then his eyes shot open and he gave a mighty roar.

The pair looked to Bai Saan, then they saw him vanish before their very eyes.

He became unseen and unheard.

"H . . He's mastered shadowless steps!"

Wú Haodong stammered out. Qin Qianyu went wide eye and looked everywhere but couldn't sense him.

Suddenly, she felt his fur rubbing against her side. She went to reach out for him but he disappeared again.

"That dumb cat reached enlightenment?"

Qin Qianyu scowled at Wú Haodong.

"Stop picking on him, it's unbecoming to be so jealous."

"Huh!? . . Unbecoming!? You see stars in your eyes, he gets enlightened and I get to shit in my pants all because there's nothing but a hellish future ahead for me. Tell me! How could I not be jealous!?"

"Your vision, was it that scary?"

Qin Qianyu asked with worry in her voice. She figured this room gave those that entered what they needed or a sense of their future.

It'll all be up to them how they decipher the visions they received.

For Qin Qianyu, she took what she had seen to mean that in her future, not even the stars, let alone the sky are where her limits end.

For Bai Saan, his longing to give his all for Qin Qianyu was his biggest wish. This gave him the enlightenment he needed to be able to utilised the full extent of the movement art Qin Qianyu uses, shadowless steps.

As for Wú Haodong. He saw nothing but death and hatred. Pain and suffering. And there was nothing he could do to prevent any of it. That was truly the most harrowing part of his vision.

No matter what he did, tried or otherwise not, death followed him regardless of his whims, with each step he made.

The only way for those close to him to survive was for him to die. There was no two ways about it. But, he was prevented from doing so.

He looked to Qin Qianyu with a somber look.

"If it comes down to it, please don't hate me."

"Huh!? . . What are talking about? Was your vision really scary?"

"Mhm,"

"Was I in it!?"

Wú Haodong didn't answer Qin Qianyu's query, he simply muttered out,

"Come on, let's get out of this place,"

"Mhm."
