Chapter 121: Valiant effort.

Qin Qianyu stayed perched for some time, after awhile she felt really confident that she had lost her tail.

She headed back down and left for home.

When she entered her home lab, she forced herself to not see her equipment and instruments.

Qin Qianyu managed to curb the urge to conduct any research or practice her refining skills.

She headed back to her room unseen and unheard.

Once there, she played on her phone for a bit.

She logged in on one of her other identities and sent out another message regarding any strange sightings within the city or it's outlined areas.

She was hoping for any information about the thing that attacked Wú Haodong.

Then she messaged her old hacker friend that wouldn't help her that time she had wanted information on the evergreen dragons.

[Hey you awake? . . I need a huge favour, it'll probably be up your alley too.]

After 10 minutes of waiting for a response she figured that her friend wasn't online.

She sighed then thought of Treasure.

"Should I ask them? . . "

As she thought about it, another thought then crossed her mind.

"Could it have been someone from Treasure following me?"

She knew that Treasure had operatives with the ability to do so.

"Not knowing is as painfully annoying as an ingrown hair or paper cut."

She thought to herself. Qin Qianyu then cast all investigation thoughts aside after thinking for a bit.

The same thought that she had when looking towards the hospital returned and nagged at her. The last thing she did before sleeping however was to check her out going sales of her pills, her current account balance and to also make a few purchases for after she's "released" by her parents.

The cash flow was smooth, her account had ballooned thanks to the efforts of Su Yin and the others at Véridique and the sales of her pills. This would also grow even more once the distributional debut of her beauty products that she and Li Yuan will put out start making money.

Qin Qianyu then made two transfers.

The payments were of 200 million each and sent them to her parents cards she had given them then went to sleep.

Wú Haodong had woken up early, he started making his way back home to Qin Qianyu. As he did, he chanced upon Wu Yihuan.

She was having an augment with some people claiming that the car she was trying to take has money owing to them,

A crowd started forming as she looked to the people she was arguing with with incredulity. Wú Haodong was watching to see how she would handle the situation.

"This car wasn't abandoned, I just couldn't retrieve it till now!"

"You still have to pay the fees for it being here, so pay up now!"

"Who said I wasn't going to pay!? . . I'm just not giving it to you! . . "

"You have to because this here says you do!"

The man shouted out aloud and pointed at the embroidered logo on his shirt.

Wu Yihuan frowned then scoffed at the man,

"Just because of that!? . . Look here you! You've shown no real identification to prove who you are, you've shown no documentation to back any of your claims, you just want me to pay you in cash to remove this wheel clamp and that's that!?"

" . . . "

The short man adjusted his attire and pointed an accusing finger at her.

"How can you say this!? We are a registered and reputable company contracted to monitor this parking station. Now, if you want to leave with your vehicle you best pay the allotted fees and labour costs for doing so, or we'll take your car, on sell it and recover our cost that way."

The man proclaimed. The two at his side were backing him, also several people in the crowd.

They were all yelling the same things at her, and that was to stop stalling and pay up.

"This is a parking facility owned and operated by a subsidiary of Gaoshan, what business does you and your embroidered logo have here?"

A voice sounded out. Everyone looked to that person. It was Wú Haodong.

He had seen enough. He knew that all these people were scamming Wu Yihuan, they even planted hawkers among the rubberneckers to sway the opinions of the others in the crowd.

The man arguing with Wu Yihuan turned sour and gave a nod to one of the men by his side.

"Your opinion isn't wanted or needed here young man. Stop trying to show off in front of a beautiful woman. It's a valiant effort on your part but it'll all be for nothing in the end!"

The large man says as he approached Wú Haodong menacingly.

The shorter man arguing with Wu Yihuan sneered as he looked to Wu Yihuan and stated,

"If you don't want to end up like how he's about to end up, I suggest you pay up now. Oh and because of the trouble that you've caused us here, the price has now tripled!"

Wu Yihuan scowled at the man, she turned to Wú Haodong and gave an apologetic look, she then turned to the short man angrily,

"Stop! . . You don't have to hurt others, I'll pay just leave him alone!"

"Arghhhhh!"

A shrilly cry invaded the ears of everyone there, when they had initially seen the bigger man head towards the young man they knew he'd end up in a messy situation, however.

"Hey guy! . . Yeah you, the one smaller than him,"

Wú Haodong says as he pointed out the big guy laid out on the ground. Everyone was in shock. They didn't expect that the scream came from the large man that was sent over to sort out the young man.

He smirked at their reactions and continued,

"Is orange, called orange, because oranges are orange? Or are oranges called an orange because orange is orange?"

"What the hell are you talking about!? . . Can you spout anymore nonsense!?"

The short man bellowed out aloud, he took a step back when he had seen the big man laying in a heap on the ground.

Wú Haodong smirked, then shrugged as he walked closer to them and Wu Yihuan.

He stood next to Wu Yihuan and smiled at her before replying to the short man,

"Isn't that the game we're playing though!?"

"Huh!? . . What game!?"

"The one were he spouts nonsense, then you start spouting nonsense, I just wanted to join in."

" . . . "

The short man had had enough. He gave a signal and two van loads of people close by stepped out and headed in their direction.

He sneered at Wú Haodong and Wu Yihuan. He felt more assured with the numbers at his side.

Wu Yihuan looked to Wú Haodong again and apologised,

"I'm sorry for getting you involved in all of this. But you should go now, being in hospital isn't a great thing you know. So thanks for the aid, but please leave now while you're still able to."

Wú Haodong looked to the people coming at them and chuckled,

"Ah it's fine, there's only a few of them. It'll be easy for us. Besides, she told me you passed your test last night, 15 seconds! . . What a fantastic effort, good stuff!"

Wú Haodong says as he flashed Wu Yihuan a warm smile and two thumbs up. Wu Yihuan however was struck stupid as she looked to Wú Haodong with wide eyes.

"Who is this young man?"

Wu Yihuan thought to herself, then she asked aloud,

"Who . . "

She didn't get to finish. He waved her off and continued.

"Let's treat this as a light warm up then we'll go meet up with her to start training."

"Ah, okay."

Wú Haodong didn't rush the pipe welding interlopers, instead, he casually walked towards them and quickly disarmed the one closest to him.

With the pipe in hand, Wú Haodong hit its previous owner in the knee causing his leg to buckle, he fell to his hands and knees from the blow.

As he did, Wú Haodong sent a knee to the man's face. He was undoubtedly out for the 10 count.

He then tossed the pipe, double handedly, towards the next closest thug. The sound it made when it connected to that man's head, echoed out in the parking space.

"Two down, . . You're next."

Wú Haodong says nonchalantly as he pointed out another big fellow with a smile.

Wú Haodong ran and jumped in the air and delivered a back kick to the man's face.

He then used this as a spring board to propel him to his next target, which saw another man getting kicked in the face by Wú Haodong's other foot as he spun in the air.

As Wú Haodong landed, he swept the leg of the bigger man he had used as a springboard, causing him to stumble and fall on top of his comrade.

Wú Haodong gave him a swift kick to the head knocking him unconscious.

He then turned to Wu Yihuan who had taken out two attackers so far.

She now had two pipes in hand and started using the same Wú dual sword technique that Yang Mingchun had used on the guards in the hospital.

Wú Haodong nodded and carried on also.

After a few short minutes it was only the short man left. He started to panic and dropped to his knees immediately.

"Young Sir, young Miss, there seems to be a mix up in our records and paperwork, the car that we were supposed to clamp is on the next floor up."

" . . . "

"How about this. Let's just chalk this up to a simple misunderstanding and let bygones be bygones huh? What say you?"

"Pfft, you wish! . . If you're not here for her specifically, then you've been doing this to a lot more people correct?"

"I . . Ah . . "

"Which gang are you under?"

" . . . "

"Well I don't mind if you won't tell me, but they might have a problem with it,"

Wú Haodong says as he points to several vehicles coming towards them.

The men all got out and walked towards them.

The short man looked in horror,

"A rival gang?"

He thought to himself. With this in mind, the short man pointed accusingly at the new arrivals.

"What do you want!? . . You can't do anything bad to me it's illegal! . . I . . I have full authority to be here, and we've also been contracted by Gaoshan to operate here in this car park."

The short scared man decried to the newly arrived people.

The man leading them was Lin Xie. He just cocked an eyebrow at him and looked around at the others that lay on the ground.

He recognised Wu Yihuan and also Wú Xiaodong. He had prepared his identification for him the day before, he was surprised to see them together.

He only got a message from elder Wú to head to level 3E of a certain parking station and help out a couple of youngsters.

"Mr Wú, Miss Wu, how do you do."

"Uncle Lin, why are you here?"

"I got a call that the two of you needed some assistance . . But, . . "

" . . . "

Wu Yihuan explained the entire situation to Lin Xie. He soon understood what was happening now.

"Don't worry Miss Wú, we'll sort it out from here for you."

Wú Haodong then added,

"That man, the two woman there, that couple and that man and him too. They're part of this gang. So you might want to round them all up too."

Lin Xie nodded and did so.

Those in the crowd that Wú Haodong pointed out started to panic. When the crowd saw the ones pointed out, they quickly realised they were the ones pushing for Wu Yihuan to pay up and do so without a fuss.

The couple even threatened to call the police on Wu Yihuan if she didn't make full payment to the short man.

They soon realised that this was a gang of fraudsters.

"Wait I have a contract with Gaoshan, that kid is lying to you, I don't know those people. If you do this, you'll find yourself unemployed by the days end. Can any of you people even go up against the mountain itself?"

Suddenly another few car loads of people arrived. The were all wearing suits and marched out in an orderly fashion.

"You! What's going on here!? Let those people go right this instant!"

The man leading this new group of people bellowed out in a thunderous voice.

The short scared man became arrogant seeing these new arrivals.

"Heh! You guys are all screwed now that Gaoshan's people are here!"

" . . . "

Wú Haodong looked to the short man then to the new people. He walked up to them cocked his head to the side as he took stock of the newly arrived men and nonchalantly asked,

"You're Gaoshan?"

"Yeah! We are! What about it kid!? . . "

The man states proudly. The people that had gathered looked on in awe.

Wú Haodong however, didn't look amused at all. The man cared nothing for Wú Haodong as he poked him in the chest with his sausage size index finger,

"Listen here and listen well kid, If you've got nothing to do here then piss off! But if you do, then I'll show you the full force of Gaoshan's might!"

Wú Haodong picked at his ears and blew his finger when he was done. He stated firmly,

"If the peak can't pierce the heavens,"

Lin Xie and the men heard him and looked to the fakes before them,

"What the hell kid, you're starting to piss me off! you're truly brave to stand up against Gaoshan!"

Wú Haodong gave that man a roundhouse kick to the head sending him flying.

He then turn his head to the side and looked behind him and shouted out aloud,

"If the peak can't pierce the heavens,"

Everyone saw the angry look in Wú Haodong's face as he shouted out those words, suddenly the booming voices of all those that came with Lin Xie bellowed out louder than all the fans at an idols concert.

"Let it sit upon our shoulders, for we are all Gaoshan!"

" . . . "

It was deathly quiet on that parking level, the fake Gaoshan people started to quiver after hearing the booming collective response to Wú Haodong's rallying call.

They truly shit themselves then and there, but none were as scared shitless as the short man.

Wú Haodong walked up to him and picked him up by the hair.

"You fucked up little man! You fuckers are so brave to impersonate and imitate Gaoshan."

Wú Haodong punched the man so hard that the short man lost a few teeth.

"Lin Xie I'll leave the rest to you."

Lin Xie nodded and gestures for a few men to round up the new comers.

Wu Yihuan was surprised when she witnessed the response from his call.

"That was awesome!"

Wu Yihuan says wholeheartedly. Wú Haodong snorted as he chuckled.
