Quinn and Hakeem stood at attention along with all the other cadets. They were in a large room similar to the training room they had done their initiation test in and were being addressed by General Wasashi.

"Good morning cadets and welcome to your first day in hell! Today, you will be given your ranks as well as your position in the army, and then tomorrow you will properly begin your training. I won't lie to you, it would probably be fun for us, but for you; it would be the very definition of purgatory in your religion, and it will test you to the very limits. We will bend and break you, shatter and tear you apart, before finally building you into the image of a proper soldier. But should you stick to it, you will be one of the greatest protectors of this kingdom! Am I clear!!"

"Yes sir!!" All the cadets shouted in unison.

The general looked down at them and took in their reactions. He was used to cadets being intimidated by the opening speech.
