Explanation for Soul Foundation+ realm(s) and their relation with cultivation technique.

First off, a cultivation technique is how a cultivator learns to absorb and use qi for themselves. Each cultivation technique is different and will teach different martial techniques at different "layers".

During the Qi Gathering Stage, a cultivator can only use and have access to the first layer of a cultivation technique.

Once they become an early stage soul foundation cultivator, it means they have mastered the 1st layer and as such, will have access to the 2nd layer. After mastering the 2nd later, they enter the middle stage of soul foundation and have access to the 3rd layer. When they master the 3rd layer, they enter the late stage of soul foundation and have access to the 4th layer. After mastering the 4th layer, they become a Martial Fighter.

Now, when you become a Martial Fighter, you can cultivate the technique you originally used while learning a new cultivation technique as well. When you learn a new cultivation technique and managed to master the 1st layer of the new one, you will then be considered as an early stage Martial Fighter. The cycle repeats until you become a Martial Lord where you learn your third technique and in the Martial Emperor realm you learn the 4th one.

Due to the way this cultivation system works, a Martial Fighter who has managed, for example, learned up to the 8th layer of a cultivation technique, can rival a Martial Lord who has reached the 4th layer in two cultivation techniques. While the Martial Lord has higher quantity and quality of qi, the martial techniques offered by the 8th layer are much stronger.

Just remember that while learning the first 4 layers of a cultivation techniques, it will impact a cultivator's soul world. That being the case, it gets harder to master new techniques as you learn more cultivation techniques because it is harder for your soul world to change.
