Scarab

Jacob quickly reacted to the man stabbing at him and slapped away the hand, shocking the man, wich caused him to drop the knife. As soon as he pounded away the needle, Jacob grabbed the dagger from his side and placed it on the man's throat while holding one of the man's arms and twisting it behind him.

The man, now scared for his life, finally noticed the mask and remembered hearing about a man who was new to the capital but supposedly a skilled assassin. The man, now believing the rumors, started begging Jacob to let him go.

" I'll pay you twice, no triple what they paid you if you let me go!" screamed the man

Jacob weighed the options and tried remembering from which organization this man was from.

Then it snapped: this man was from the closest rival gang to the Bastard Children. They had been battling it out for a while, leading to a few casualties, mainly from Jacobs's side.

Then as soon as he remembered who the man was, he slit his throat and looked at all the other guests before heading back to the room he had come from.

After the guests realized that the Bastard Children had hired decent protection, the event went well with even two gangs, with only a few awakened deciding to ally with them.

After the event, Jacob and Edward sat down and discussed the events that unfolded. They realized that a battle would soon break out between them and their closest rival gang, The Infinite Glory, who possessed around five awakened, 1 of whom had the same rank as Jacob, while the rest were just 2nd rank.

Jacob and Edward hadn't been slacking for the past week recruiting and training three. Two 2nd rank awakened, not including Edward or Jacob; Edward had reached the third rank.

While the gang was growing smoothly they were in desperate need of money, so he decided that "Scarab" would take on a few well paying mercenary missions.

A few hours later, Jacob arrived in front of what could only be described as a rundown Motel. But Jacob walked directly to one of the rooms before placing a key card on the door, which opened to reveal a regular room, he then headed for the bed before lifting it which told a staircase lit by only a red flickering light.

He found himself in a dark, eerie room that seemed to be made of stone and lit by only a dim red light. The air was thick with the smell of blood, which the light seemed to hide. At one end of the room, there was a small bar with a few patrons filling the chairs. The opposite end had a giant board filled with weapons, but it was locked behind a glass wall. On the farthest end of the room was a desk with a man sitting behind it. Behind him, there was a giant screen that displayed a list of people ranked by a number next to their names, all of whom had a bounty on their heads. It was a chilling sight that made one's blood run cold.

Jacob entered the room and walked straight toward the wall of weapons. He ignored the people who stared at him and used a key to unlock the glass wall before placing his weapons inside. Once he confirmed that he had no other items, the people stopped staring at him.

Once he did that, he headed straight for the man at the desk.

"What brings you here, Scarab?" said the clerk without looking up from the computers that filled the desk

" I need some money, and I heard you can provide some "Odd Jobs," said Jacob while looking at the screen behind the man

" Well, you came to the right place; we have a few people who are having trouble "Sleeping" and a few who prefer not to eat alone," said the clerk while handing Jacob a laptop with a list of odd Jobs.

Jacob looked through the list and decided to go for the highest-paying job

The son of the noble had caused quite some chaos to a different noble, and he needed him to be taken out

The reward for this task was enough to equip the awakened in his gang and possibly entice a few more to join them.

One thing that greatly interested Jacob was the fact that the son of the noble had been colluding with a few gangs and had taken over his father's noble title. One of the rewards listed was the noble title.

This wasn't uncommon, as the King declared that if any noble family fell or failed at fulfilling their jobs, anyone who could take over the duties and pay off the debt would gain the title.

Jacob assumed the sponsor of this request would pay off the debt.

Once Jacob told the clerk which request he wanted to take on, he left the Assasins guild before calling Edward and telling him to be on the lookout for the Lutherdrop Family as they would be their next target.

Two days later, Edward discovered the child of the noble, Jolson Lutherdrop, was to go to a meeting with the gangs he conspired with to take the noble title as his own

This is when Jacob would strike; in preparation, he had made sure to infect almost every person that would be in part; he had paid off any guards that would be close to the event and through a complicated process, replaced some of the guards that would be at the event.

But before he struck, Jacob decided to talk to the noble who had promised the rewards to ensure that there was no mistake.

As he approaches the small mansion, he can see guards stationed at every entrance and exit. The building is adorned with intricate carvings and designs, giving off an air of elegance and grandeur. The most striking feature, however, is the large blue gemstone set into the center of the building's facade. The rock seems to shimmer and glow in the sunlight, catching the eye of anyone passing by. As he gets closer, you notice that the guards are dressed in fine uniforms and seem well-trained and alert. The mansion itself is not particularly large, but it is clear that no expense has been spared in its construction and decoration. From the outside, it appears to be a place of great importance and wealth, with the blue gemstone serving as a symbol of its power and influence.
