Prologue 1

I wasn't invited to my own mother's wedding because I am doing my senior year and I need to study. How absurd is that? Can you believe? Who doesn't invite her daughter to her wedding, what if the man she is getting married to is psychopath or a scorpion or a devil in disguise?

Wow!

Can you believe it?

I never met this man and then boom, one day my mum just drops the news.

"Hey sweetie I'm getting married"

I looked at her and smiled, i was happy for her but she should have told me or hinted that she is dating. Like ask me, "Hey baby do you want a step dad?". There I would have guessed she is seeing someone. But no, didn't get invited to the wedding, and right now she ousted us from our house. Told me , "Leona baby, pack your bags. We will be staying with your new father and his two children"

Can the world just swallow me? Or just wake me up from this princess slumber. Come on this is not real.

Here I am with my mum on our way to her husband's house, I know her husband is rich and has two kids, Kelly and I don't know the name of his son, I was told that he also didn't attend the wedding because he is also doing his senior year and needs to study.

That is such a lame excuse if you as me. They just didn't want us to eat all those nice foods.

20 minutes passed and here we are standing in front of an enormous house, with large masculine figures guarding every corner of the house.

Just as the station wagon opened I was welcomed by the biggest chandelier, a swimming pool, and a beautiful garden. I don't think mum fell in love with new dad, but with his garden, it's so beautiful!

The guard opened the door for me and I thanked him, followed by his words: "Hello mam, I am Bryan Box your bodyguard", I just stared at him waiting on words to come rushing out of his mouth but I then interrupted

"Am I in danger?!" O that came out rude, I have to apologize.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to ask rudely but I'm serious am I in danger?"

The bodyguard just smiled at me then he continued, "No mam, this is Evy your maid."

Okay, this is getting a little bit awkward, I need my privacy people!

I am not used to having a maid, my maid, no that I don't approve.

" Please don't call me mam, address me by my name, I am Aphile", they all remained silent and exchanged looks, he then said: "I will address you by your name if Mr. Cadsway is not around."

Mr. Cadsway is my new dad, I just smiled and started looking around.

Looks like Mr. Cadsway is nowhere to be seen, so I can release these nice people off their duties

" Mr. Box, Miss Evy, I enjoy my own space so when Mr. Cadsway is not around, please don't follow me around. You are out of your duties right now", I left them startled and shocked.

Mum took my hand and we walked towards the door, the other guards opened the door and we were greeted by my new dad.

"Hello my wife, hello kiddo ", mom and new dad just started kissing in front of me

"Mom eww get a room" since they didn't take my advice I just decided to leave the room.

Just when I am about to take the corner to my bedroom a thin manicured hand just grabs me into the room opposite mine

"Kelly" as surprised as I was "It's been ages..." then she disrupts me." Oh hi Appy ye whatever I know you are surprised and stuff so...wait till you meet my brother, oh I mean our brother." oh that's my stepsister, Kelly, finishing her sentence in a sing-song.

She embraced me in a hug and I did the same. Kelly is smart, beautiful and she is doing her last year at Harvard University, she is older than me by three years

" I can't wait to show you around, OMG I love you so much Appy", did I forget to mention Kelly is larger? OMG if we all had her self esteem.

"I have to introduce you to my friends and you will do the same, I have to help you unpack...oh I decorated your room with your favorite color black, I still don't know why you like that color, it's dull and black. Linny is here today and I will introduce you to him. We will be a happy family and I will start going to church with you on Sunday. I am so excited, I was so bored without you, I missed spending time with you, I am so happy that I have a sister and a pregnant mom, I wish she gives birth to a girl so we can have another sister, I know we are going to have a..."

"That's enough dear sister, I am here now and I am very happy to be your younger sister, I can't wait to explore sisterhood with you", did I mention that Kelly talks nonstop when she is excited, you could swear she uses rechargeable batteries.

" I am so happy Aphile, come on let me show you your new room", pulling me upstairs, she led the way to my new room

OMG, it is so beautiful. 'Guys black is beautiful'

We then talked a lot, while she helped me unpack, she took me downstairs and introduced me to everyone 'her friends included', she told me the rules of the house and she promised to introduce me to Linny. The day went by and Kelly went downstairs so I went back to my bathroom, and took a long hot bubble bath. After fifty minutes I was done and I went downstairs

I was getting worried now, doesn't my brother want to meet me? Let me ask Kelly because I haven't seen him around.

"K where is Linny, I haven't seen him around?", I am so eager to meet my brother, maybe he will not be like Linz. Why am I even thinking about Linz?! That one is Lucifer himself.

" Appy, there is one thing you need to know about Linny, everything he does has a reason behind it and he loves his family"

'well, that's a good thing I guess. We ate our dinner and still my brother was not anywhere near the dinner table. Kelly dragged me to a room, which I guess belonged to him.
