Chapter 15

Jeremiah:

She is not coming out, it has been five seconds and she is not coming out. Is there a possibility that she can't swim?

Shit!

I quickly remove my shoes and socks and then jump in the water.

I hear laughter and I raise my head out of the water.

There she is, looking as beautiful as ever, laughing.

"Why are you laughing? I thought you can't swim. I was so scared that you drowned", I shout at her.

" Serves you good. Why did you push me?" She asks back with an attitude.

" Because I wanted to do it. I wanted to see you fall into the water", I answer honestly, she rolls her eyes.

"Do you know how scared I was? I thought you can't swim"

" That was your lesson then", she fires back and starts swimming towards the stairs. I swim after her and grab her waist and made her sit on the stairs.

I claim her lips and she kisses me back. Our tongues tangle with each other and she wraps her hands around my neck and plays with my hair.

Her dress is flowing in the water and I'm having problems with the little control I have. She is affecting me and I don't want to take advantage of her, but it's hard.

She wraps her legs around my waist, that is the biggest mistake she did. I can feel the hot core against my eight-pack.

Damn girl! My hand sneaks around her panty, she pinches me and pulls out.

"No Jeremiah stop. I believe now please stop. Stay away from me"

Fuck this woman!

" O come on baby, right now you were kissing me and now you want me to stay away from you. Why?"

Please don't say it's because of your mother.

I turn and swim out of the water, then walk back to my car.

I need to get out of here. I need to get drunk. The woman can never disobey her mum.

I take my phone and dial Deacon's number. It rings three times and he answers.

"I need to get drunk, I'll meet you at your club"

Deacon is my best friend from elementary school and I love him a lot. He has curly hair with two nose rings, blue eyes, and dimples.

"I am not in the club"

"Then be there in fifteen minutes", I need to shake the stress away.

" Oh come on, I'm busy"

"Busy for me"

" Oh please Xavier you are not my girlfriend. I'll be there"

" Good because I need to get Leona out of my mind for now."

Oh my God! What was going to happen if I didn't stop him?

He was trying hard to control himself and I just had to wrap my legs around his waist.

"Are you fine? Did he hurt you?"

"I am the one who has hurt him. V I told him to stay away from him."

I feel bad now, I shouldn't have said that to him.

"Do you love him?"

"Yes I do"

"Then why are you not with him?"

"You know the answer"

" Yes I do, but Aphile, it's not wrong to break the rules for once. Follow your heart"

That will never happen, I can never betray my mum.

"V tell me the truth, is he not Jessy's husband?"

" Yes, he is her brother"

" Night guys", they both exited my room, and I went to freshen up. After twenty minutes I went straight to bed. The ringing of my phone disturbs my sleep, I groan and answer it.

"Hello", I answer

"Hi, I'm sorry if I'm waking you up from your sleep", I can't recognize this voice. Who could this man be?

"No it's okay, I was just getting ready for bed. To whom am I talking to?"

" Austin McKenzie, the one whom your marriage is fixed with"

How did he get my number? What will I tell this man? Shall I tell him the truth?

"Oh", is all I manage to say.

"I want to talk about this marriage. I want to ask your opinion, do you want to get married?"

Not to someone who I don't know.

"Actually no, I don't want to get married but I have to, I don't want to hurt my mum and at the same time, I don't want to hurt him. I am just confused, I told mum to tell you that I need time"

" Yes, she told me. I am not ready for that kind of commitment. I also don't want to get married, I have a girlfriend who I love a lot. I also want to make my parents happy"

"I still need to fulfill my promise to Jeremiah. I made a promise to him the first day we met.

" Aphile, this man truly loves you, you should be happy about that"

A yawn escapes my mouth. I'm tired it was such a long day.
