Consequences

Everyone gets up from their seats and stands against the wall as the army men point their guns at us.

“You think you can harm our workers and go unpunished?” one of the army men asks us, “Huh?” “No sir,” we mumble and some start to tremble violently. “If we call your name,” the guard says and looks into our souls, “you come forward.” “Akari, John, William, Courage, Milicent, Cedar, Hazel, Esther, Lily, Daniel, James, Mason, David, Francisco, Adam, Gregory, Adan, Iris, Rian, Daisy and Petunia,” another army man reads out and each of them step forward nervously, but I notice that everyone left standing against the wall is pregnant.

My eyes widen as more army men come into the room with whips in hand while the other guards keep us standing against the wall with guns pointed at us, but we can still see what’s going on. There is silence among the group, then the new army men start whipping those who stepped forward, and I gasp.
