Just Throw Them Out

"Aishhh!" Michael threw a cushion at him.

"Ignore him, Emily." He smiled at the poor girl.

"But really, you want to be a broadcaster right?" He asked, staring intently at her.

"Uhn." Emily nodded her head.

"My stepsister is a newscaster too." She twitched her lips side to side.

"Huh..." Michael nodded his head.

He stood up on his feet and headed to his room.

Emily watched his retreating form in confusion. He soon came back with a script in his hand. It was a copy of the news Stephanie was going to broadcast that night.

He headed to the dining room and carried one of the dining chairs to the lounge. He moved the center table away and placed the chair in the middle of the lounge. He took the remote from Joel's side and muted the TV.

He handed the script over to Emily. "Here."

"Sit on that chair and broadcast that news like you are broadcasting it live. Do you get?..." He smiled. Michael twitched his lips,"...like you are in a studio… like Stephanie, okay?"

"Ohh, okay." Emily nodded her head.

With the manuscript in her hand, she dragged her feet to the chair and sat on it.

Joel pursed his lips as he watched his brother and the girl. He knew what his brother was trying to do.

"Hyung, she doesn't have a retentive memory." He chuckled as he watched them.

Emily sneered at the arrogant handsome god.

She squeezed the manuscript in her hands. 'me?... Retentive memory? I'll show you retentive memories.'

"Pay no attention to him okay, are you ready?" Michael smiled.

"Uhn." She nodded her head.

"Okay." He clapped his hands.

"You are going on air in hana, dul...... set!" He snapped his fingers.

"A good evening to South Korea. This is Empire World Broadcasting Corporation and I,Stephanie Nelson, bring you the news tonight." Emily said in a go, a smile plastered on her face.

Michael gave her a thumbs up while Joel adjusted his position on the couch.

"It has been confirmed that among the highschool students that were rescued from drowning yesterday in Han river, just two were injured, and none died. The South Korean government has promised to give each student one thousand won as compensation, and they have also promised to fix the bridge as soon as possible, on order to avoid such occurrence in the future. Our correspondents had an interview with few of the students, let's have a look." Emily said in a go, without taking a look at the paper in her hands.

"Oh my!" Michael cut in.

"Wow..." he clapped his hands in admiration.

That was perfect—the best. It was a manuscript and she read from it flawlessly, even though it had some errors in it. She didn't even ask any questions. If it were to be Stephanie, she'd have stopped countless times to ask questions or complain she didn't get some words because the handwriting was poor. Trash.

Joel smiled at the girl in awe and admiration. That was perfect. She was better than Stephanie in many ways.

If it were to be Stephanie reading from the manuscript, she'd have stolen, at least, three glances at the script, to read that short piece.

Emily stared keenly at Michael, standing on her feet. "Oppa, did I try?"

"You more than tried, Emily. You are the best." He gave her a thumbs up and ruffled her hair with his hand.

"Yes, our Emily really tried." Joel grinned.

"You said she didn't have a retentive memory." Michael sneered.

"Ahhh, hyung, I was only joking." He cleared his throat awkwardly.

Even the handsome god said she tried… Emily skipped to her room happily.

"..." Michael sighed, sitting beside Joel.

"Hyung, what are you thinking?.." Joel sat down next to him. "Since we have Emily, let's just throw that other girl out."

Michael propped up his chin with his palm. "No, we shouldn't do it that way."

He sighed, "she'll still be in the agency but we simply won't make use of her like before. That way, she'll get back to her senses and know her place cos, we won't give her a raise this time around."

"Hmn, that's good." Joel nodded his head in affirmation.

Michael checked the time.

"Hurry. I don't think Emily has any suitable dress. You need to take her to the boutique and get her dressed uo before 6pm tonight." Michael stated, standing up on his feet.

Joel furrowed his brows. "Huh? Why me?"

"Why? You don't want to?..." Michael asked, arching up his brows.

Not that Joel didn't want to. He really wanted to spend time with that girl… he was simply pretending to not want to.

"Well, since you want me to, I guess I have no choice." He twirled his tongue.

"Hurry. I'll get the contract ready and get a suitable manager for her."

Michael rushed to his room and rushed back to the lounge.

"But hyung, the news is at 8. Why should she get ready before 6?" Joel raised his brows.

"There's a radio broadcast by 6, we'll test her with that, and if she's as good as she was just now, then she can go for the newscast."

Michael took his car key and walked out of the lounge.

Joel stood up on his feet and stretched his body. He smirked mischievously and walked towards the girl's room. Without knocking, he opened the door.

"Yah! Can't you knock!?" Emily, who had just stepped out of the bathroom with a short towel wrapped around her body, yelled.

Joel stared at her intimidatingly.

"My house." He pronounced coldly.

"Ahhh..." Emily gulped immediately, fidgeting with the hem of the towel.

He twitched his mouth. "Get yourself ready, we need to go somewhere."

"Sorry?... I- d-don-don't have any-thing to wear." She stuttered.

He ran his gaze over her and clicked his tongue.

"I'll get you a top." He shut the door.

Joel grinned as he climbed up the stairs. He walked idly into his room. He unlocked his walk-in closet and rummaged through his t-shirts.

He only had one white top that could fit the girl and he was also wearing a white top…

'hmn, not bad.' he smirked thoughtfully and went back downstairs.

Emily had just put on her bra when the door suddenly flung open.

"Hhhhaaa!" she gasped.

Quickly, she took the towel she had thrown on the bed and wrapped it around her chest.

"Hmn." Joel cleared his throat and quickly looked away.

He threw the top on her face and closed the door.

"Aishhh!" She removed the top from her face and groaned frustratedly when he left.

After a while, she was done dressing up.

She walked out of her room, and met Joel who was already waiting for her, in the lounge.

She scratched the back of her head timidly as she stood before him, "I'm ready."

Without saying a word, he stood up on his feet and took long strides out of the lounge, while she trailed after him quickly.

"But erm, where are we going?" Emily looked at the handsome god as he drove out of the villa.

"You'll know when we get there." Joel replied coldly.

Shopping Mall

Emily couldn't close her mouth as soon as she and Joel arrived at the shopping mall. "Wowww..."

"Wae? you don't like?" He asked teasingly.

"Huh? No, I love it. I really really really love it." Emily grinned in awe as they stepped out of the car.

The mall looked familiar to her, like she had seen it somewhere but she wasn't so sure...

"Huh." Joel smirked.

He took a mask in the backseat and put it on, before stepping out of the car, in order to avoid the press and the masses noticing him.

Before they arrived at the main entrance of the mall, some people were already there, waiting for them—people that included the manager of the mall and some other important staff.

As they walked to the main entrance, Joel threw his car key at the manager and walked past him, into the mall, with Emily following closely behind him absentmindedly, staring at the manager and the other staff bewilderedly as they bowed to Joel.

"Aishhh, it's so noisy in here." Joel groaned under his mask as they walked further into the busy mall.

"We're sorry, Sir." The manager quickly bowed, trotting after the CEO of EWC, who was also, the owner of EMPIRE WORLD SHOPPING MALL.

"Just throw them out." Joel scowled.

The manager couldn't believe his ears, "Sir?..."

Joel stopped in his tracks, he turned around and swept his cold intimidating gaze over the manager.

His legs went limp on the spot, "ahhh, alright Sir."

The ceo was not one to repeat himself.

The manager broke into cold sweats immediately, 'how can I possibly throw them out, are they garbage?...'

He bowed his head and made to turn around.

Joel fluttered his eyes, "never mind."

After all, they weren't going to be disturbed by the noise. So, he decided to let them be.

The manager squeaked innerly, 'ahhh. Thank goodness. I'm really grateful.'

He bobbed his head, "very well, Sir."

He had no idea of how he was going to send all of those people out… like TF!

Joel got hold of Emily's hand and pulled her to the escalator.

As they approached the foot of the escalator, he felt a tug on his clothes. He turned around.

"Ermm, I c-can't..." Emily gulped.

"Say what now?" He narrowed his eyes.

"I c-can't—that step..." She stuttered, planting her eyes on the escalator.

Joel raised his brows, he still didn't get her. "The escalator?..."

"Nde. I can't..." She bit her lip nervously.

"Oh, you are scared of the escalator..." He arched up his brows in amusement.
