Chapter 7

I just knew something would go wrong just because I was extremely happy ... man but never in my dream have I ever imagined a scenario like the one right in front of me.

It was indeed a sight but not the one I was wishing for. Standing there in all her drunken glory was one of my best friends from highschool Jia.

"I am very happy mah girl ....Finally I broke up with him or he broke up with me , I don't know . Anyway I am happy...verryyyy happyy.."

And she broke down right on my corridor. I took her swaying body inside and laid her on the couch while I sat beside her.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?"

"He fucking realised he didn't love me anymore.... After 4 years of being together that asshole just realised he didn't love me... I don't care Ella , I just can't.... Let me be for this night..."

"Stop the whining Ella , Mason will come or I will bash his face in for you.... oooohhh I am sorry" Caleb stopped his rambling when he saw Jia. It went from sadness to anger in seconds .

"Who did it? Just tell me who is the reason she is drunk out of her mind and crying in our apartment.."

He was shaking with anger and I have never seen him like this ..

"Caleb calm down!" I kind of shouted but it was necessary. And then I told him

"Her boyfriend of 4 years just broke up with her..."

"Why?" He asked eerily calm , it kind of creeped me out honestly.

"He... he j-j-just re-realised - - - he d-d-didn't love me anymore.." and Jia cried in heart wrenching pain... it even pained me to look at her ...

But to my surprise Caleb went and hugged her. She cried even more once she was in his arms . He cradled her to his chest and ran his hands through her hair . It looked ..no they looked perfect sitting there in each other's embrace .

Just then the door bell went again . My heart dropped thinking that I have to cancel the date with Mason , I can't leave my best friend after a break up like that , alone in my apartment.

I stood up from the sofa and straightened my dress and when I looked at Caleb he mouthed " Go " .

But I shook my head and pointed at the girl currently in his embrace sleeping (wasn't she wailing a minute ago...) and that too very calmly . He shook his head again and just nodded his head which meant that he is there for her .

I raised my eyebrows asking really and I would have really started questioning what was up with him but the bell rang and Caleb in a small voice carefully not to wake up Jia, said,

" Go, I'll take care if she needs anything . Don't worry go and enjoy . If he misbehaves tell him that tomorrow he will have his testicles for breakfast ."

And gave me 1000 watt smile while I was looking for my jaw on the ground which unhinged when I heard his talk.

He smiled again and nodded like saying go on. And with a new found respect and love for Caleb , I went to open the door .

And ladies and gentlemen it is the second time my jaw unhinged..... it is getting out of hand. But what can I do when one of God's most beautiful creation stood before me .. he is handsome . I can't literally think of any other adjective, my brain is too cramped with too many "oh my god"s.

In a dark blue v-neck ,khaki pants and converse shoes , he smiled the damned dimple smile at me .

"Wow, you look beautiful. "

I was red to the tips of my ears .

"Well, I can't afford to look bad when you look like that , now can I?" I said as I smirked .

It was short but his cheek went a slight shade of pink . I internally smiled

"Let's go m'lady."

I chuckled and gave my hand to his extended hand.

He has been driving for some time and I was starting to get a little giddy as we were leaving the civilised area. After some time when I decided to ask him where we were going, that is when I saw the lights .
