I stared at Mr. Sam void of words. Wondering the audacity he had to still teach us mystery or the keen justification he had to clarify himself with if I ever reported him. Nonetheless, I didn't care but come to think of it again. Maybe my voice won't even matter or perhaps, he knows how to wisely remedy himself and the last thing he wants to think about is 'some teenage kid."
Or no, probably everything is indeed a mystery to be unraveled. Sounds better than my previous thoughts though. I nodded eying Mr. Sam.
"Or what do you say Aurora?" Alex asked with a slight grin
"Uh?" I asked raising my eyebrows at him.
I have been sitting in mystery class for the past twenty minutes. Alex and Nathan decided to sit close to me while my roommate sat down by the wall close to the door. By the word 'roommate' not 'roommates', I was referring to Lizzy. Surprisingly Mira is not here.
"What if the king never loved his first wife in the first place and was only obsessed and full of his last wife?" Alexis said with great enthusiasm.
I slowly tilted my head and faced him. "And by last wife you sure as hell mean the little witch gold digger?" I asked.
"You're crazy." Alex said as the three of us let out a low but distracting and disturbing laugh but Mr. Sam paid no attention to us.
"First wives are always the best." Nathan remarked.
"Like first love never leave your heart." Alex added.
I just stared at the both of them bored.
Dreaming their fantasy in reality, I thought.
"But honestly, that's one of the best mystery novel I've read so far." Nathan said.
"Me too." I agreed nodding
After another ten minutes of teaching and side talks, the class finally ended. I watched as Lizzy stood up and quickly scrambled away from the class.
The three of us stood up and walked out of the class slowly in silence until somebody decided to break it bringing up a topic that's really unpleasant to me but certainly impossible to avoid.
"How do you see Lizzy?" Alex asked as he increased his pace now walking behind me.
I was taken back by his question but quickly composed myself before they read much meaning to my reaction but studying their expression solemnly, they already did.
"Well....." I paused thinking of what to say. "Certainly weird, kind of a hard type, she's strange. Hmm." I paused thinking of what to say more. "Very odd, unusual, repulsive, easily..."
"Okay. Is any of her actions or movement suspicious?" Nathan asked cutting me short.
I squinted my eyes as I moved slowly. Where are these boys going to with this? What have they discovered? So I'm not the only one who finds Lizzy odd.
But on the other hand, what if they're just testing me as Lizzy is also their friend.
I shook my head gently.
"No, nothing suspicious. She's just different." I said slowly then quickly added feigning my expression. "Suspicious? What do you even mean suspicious?" I asked.
Alex stared at me for a few moment.
"No, just don't want you to think otherwise of her. Lizzy is different and seem odd but there's nothing to worry about." Alex said.
"Says who?" Victoria chipped in as my heart skipped a beat from the shock.
"What do you mean?" Nathan asked narrowing his eyes at her.
Victoria released a long breath then used her shoulder to push Alex away now walking beside me.
"I won't say there's nothing to worry about Lizzy. Infact, I'd advice you to be careful Aurora." Victoria stated.
"Can you be more transparent?" Alex asked confused.
"What else do you want me to say? I don't trust Lizzy." Victoria said then faced me." And I don't think you should either." She added then turned away to join some people.
"What does she mean?" I questioned.
"I don't know. You should go ask her. She's your friend." Nathan replied.
I just sighed and turned away muttering; "see you later."
I don't think Lizzy should be any of my damn business as long as she's not disturbing me.
The biggest lie I just told myself.
I slowly opened my dorm door. It creaked open quietly but the sound of muffled sobs slightly startled me. My eyes lingered at Mira's bed before I decided to move my feet. Mira was under her bedsheets crying, holding her pillow tightly.
I softly tapped her as I called her name gently.
"Mira." I called.
She quickly sat up as she rubbed her already tired eyes which was red.
I sat on her bed and moved closer staring at her intently.
"What happened to you?" I asked softly.
She just shook her head and quickly wore her eye glasses.
"You know I won't take that as an answer. You can trust me." I said again.
"Nothing.' she managed to say through croaked voice.
I just smiled then hugged her
Mira lips quivered as she tried to stop crying. She couldn't help it.
"It's going to be okay." I said slowly stroking her hair.
"You're not the first and you won't be the last to say that." She said hugging me back with so much pain in her voice. "It always has to be okay." She added in between sobs.
We stayed like that for a long time and Mira did not stop sobbing.
"Thank you." She said as she finally let go.
I just smiled In return then mouthed; "you're welcome."
"You don't know. You don't know how it feels to be in solitude. Do you know how it feels to watch the only one person you've loved die in front of you. Arie you just can't tell." She kept mumbling shaking her head.
I just sighed.
"It's okay." Was all I could repeat again.
She hugged me again.
The door suddenly snapped open and Lizzy walked in as her cold and dark aura quickly surrounded the room.
She paused, paying attention to the scene in front of her without displaying any emotions.
Coldly she said, "Gabriel is dead."
She walked to the bathroom not once turning back to our changed expression.
Gabriella is dead, my mind iterated.
Hey!
In case, you've forgotten, Gabriella was the girl in Bible knowledge class.
Check chapter nine if you want to confirm.
Finally! I'm back.
