Chapter 10

Rain's POV

After lunch, classes continued for 2 more hours and were finally in our last subject. The teacher let us use his time so we can plan about the Mini Talent Show. He wanted us to showcase him our talents, it may be singing, dancing, acting or poetry reading. It will be held just inside the room. It's a relief for us because at least, no other people will watch whatever we'll do, just our teacher and our fellow classmates. So now, everybody is huddled up with their circle of friends, including me.

Me and 2 of my classmates/friends/neighbor are now talking, discussing what kind of performance we'll show for the Talent Show.

"So, what are we gonna do?" Asked Aika

"Well, I know for sure that singing is included." I said

"Agreed. We all sing, after all. But, isn't it so bland if we just sing?" Lex questioned

"What about we include a dance performance?" Aika suggested

"Oh, yeah. Let's also dance." Lex affirmed

"Where are we gonna practice? We need a wide space." I asked

"Let's meet up at my place. It's wide enough for us, 3." Aika volunteered

"Alright. We'll head straight there after this last class." Lex announced and Aika and I agreed

It's time to go home now, at last!

I pick my backpack up and swung it on my shoulders, went over to my friends so the 3 of us can walk out of the room together. We stopped by the room beside ours so Lex can speak with her boyfriend, Ven. She went inside while Aika and I waited for her outside.

We were talking about what songs should we choose when someone tapped my shoulders. I turn to see whoever it is. And there, standing is one of Lex's boyfriend's classmate.

If you're asking how come I've known him, it's because one of my classmates, Brin is his friend since Junior High. Brin and I are talking outside the room during lunch one time when he approached us and she introduced me to him. Since then, he'll went up to me whenever I'm outside our room. At first, I'm not that open to him, I don't trust him. I can't pinpoint the reason why but I don't feel good about this friendship. But after some time, I learn to be more comfortable around him though I still don't let my guard down.

"Hey!" He beamed

"Oh, hey to you too, Troy." I greeted back with a smile

"Hi to you as well, Aika." He addressed Aika as well who in return just nodded at him

"What's up?" He asked

"Just talking, why?" I answered

"Talking, in front of our room?"

"Oh, that. Well, we're waiting for Lex 'cause he's talking to Ven." I explained

And as if on cue, Lex appeared behind Troy together with Ven.

"Let's go!" Lex said and the 4 of us walk to the stairs, leaving Troy behind

"Wait!" He exclaimed, appearing beside me as we walk down the stairs

"What?" I asked

"Where are you guys going?"

Eh? Why does he asked? It's none of his business! But then, something popped in my head.

"Hmm..." I act like I am thinking "...somewhere?" I answered with a sweet smile plastered on my face which caused a frown to appear on his face and it made me laugh

"I'm just kidding." I said after

"Oh!" He said as he shake his head, frown disappearing and a smile forming on his lips

"Yeah." I said as I control myself from laughing again

"Well, WHERE are you guys going?" He asked, emphasizing the word 'where'

"Where else, of course we're going home." I answered as we walk through the school gates and continuing towards the crossroad

"Oh, I thought you lot will go somewhere as I didn't saw you 4 walk home together before." He reasoned out

"Well, the 3 of us have to go to my house to talk about a group task." Aika explained, pointing at herself, me and Lex

After hearing Aika, Troy frowns at something

"We live in the same barangay. Rain and I reside in the same street and Aika reside on the street prior to us so technically, we really are going home." Lex clarify

"Oh, okay and Ven will be there as a support system." He said with a nod

We now reach the crossroad and we just stand at the side before we part ways.

"Who says I will? My house is just along the way." Ven said pointing towards the street where his house is located

"Oh, yeah right, I forgot." Troy said with a chuckle and the other roll his eyes

"So, I won't hold you back any longer. Have a safe trip home. I have to go home myself, as well." He bid to us

"Yeah, have a safe trip too." Ven said before giving Troy a bro hug and us girls just wave at him as we say 'bye' before he walked away

The 4 of us also started to walk towards the mentioned street before. Me and Aika talk about random stuffs while the couple talked animatedly with each other. But their talk come to an end when Ven have to turn a corner to get to the housing in which he resides.

"This is my stop." He announced, eyeing his girl

"Yeah, I know." Lex said, pouting

Ven gave out an amused chuckle before engulfing the other in his embrace, in which Lex happily return, and placing a peck on her forehead

"Hey, quit with the cheesy stuffs, we have to keep going. You'll see each other again tomorrow." I said with mock annoyance in which the couple and Aika laughed out

"I have to go now, your 'bitter' friend is getting envious." Ven said out loud

"Ppali!" I exclaim in fake-exasperation

"You're Korean now?"

"Aish, just finish up already."

They both laugh before looking at each other again, fondness and adoration for each other evident in their eyes.

"See you tomorrow." Ven said before planting another peck on Lex said who nodded and smile contently

"Goodbye to you 2, too and take care on your way." He bid us before walking away

"Yeah/Bye." Me and Aika said as we wave at him

"Let's go." The 3 of us exclaimed simultaneously causing as to laugh as we started walking yet again.
