Chapter 4
Brittany -
It was weird that I had this calm feeling, but was filled with curiosity and excitement at the same time.
She sang along to the radio as we drove, her voice was super cute.
‘I'm guessing you pretty much dominate at karaoke.’
She slowed as we approached a red light and looked at me.
Dani: ‘Are you playing dumb, or is irony just insanely adorable on you?’
She raised an eye brow.
‘Wha-what?’
I was confused.
She giggled lightly shaking her head as we pulled away.
Dani: ‘I dominate many things in my life. Karaoke is just for fun, though.’
‘Um ok...’
Dani: ‘The shy innocent thing, it isn't an act for you, is it?’
‘I don't know what you mean...’
Dani: ‘Damn, you are just an adorable little ball of temptation, aren't you?’
She just started laughing so I smiled and joined.
We pulled into a parking lot with about fifteen cars in it.
‘I can go...’
Dani: ‘No no, you stay here and look cute. I'll get dinner while you decide if you're going to take your last chance to run away.’
She just winked and went inside, then we were kind of quiet the rest of the drive.
Around an hour later she pulled slowly into a little gravel road that lead to a gate where she punched in a code.
The driveway became paved, but was still long.
There was a large field around a fair sized house.
We pulled behind the house to what looked like a two story garage.
Dani: ‘We're up top. I'll get your stuff if you get the food.’
She got out without waiting for me to agree.
We went up the stairs on the side of the building and she pulled out a key to open the door.
It was nothing fancy, but cute and comfortable.
She pointed to the little kitchen area and said to put the food on the table as she vanished into a room.
The living room, eating area, and kitchen were all open, with one door behind the living room I assumed went downstairs, and three doors on the opposite wall from where we came in.
She came out from the room she carried my bags into.
Dani: ‘Go ahead and sit you can get the food out if you want. I'm just picking out some wine.’
I did as she said and got the food out.
She sat a wine glass in front of me and poured the wine before sitting and pouring herself a glass.
Dani: ‘Ok, let's eat and chat.’
She raised her glass so I touched mine to it and started eating.
Dani: ‘I like to be upfront and honest, but in the spirit of honesty I'm very conflicted when it comes to you.’
‘Ha-how so?’
Dani: ‘I think you'd have a lot in common with my friends and me. I could be wrong you could think we're freaks and ask to never see me again, but while I think you'd be a good fit and would just enjoy what I could show you I have a personal interest as well. I don't want that to interfere with presenting you with the information and opportunity I want to offer.’
‘Well, I don't really understand I guess. You said you wanted to meet me for something, but liked chatting. I mean I get that, but it feels like I'm totally missing something.’
Dani: ‘That is my fault and I'm sorry. I told you this was an event space I own, but it's probably not like anywhere you've ever been. You've probably never been around the kind of things we do here. I want to explain more, but I don't want to worry you. Can you just keep an open mind? If you're truly concerned, or want to leave I'll call you a cab or take you home, but if you can give me a little trust I think you'd like to stay.’
I put my fork down and had a funny feeling in my stomach.
‘Ok, but can you please just explain already? I'm really confused.’
She put her hands in her lap and nodded.
Dani: ‘I'm sure you're aware of the phenomenon going on after those fifty shade books came out, but, the thing is, BDSM isn't just something people enjoy in the bedroom. It's a huge world in itself, with communities and history going back decades.’
‘BDSM like chaining people up to beat them and stuff?’
Dani: ‘That can be a part of it sometimes, but it isn't even just about physical stuff. There's so many different dynamics and relationships. A lot of people practice power exchange without even realizing it. I'm not explaining this the best and I'm sorry. Usually it's easier for me, but as I said I really like you and I think it's tripping me up some. This space below us is what we commonly call a dungeon. People meet here to socialize, learn new things, or play.’
‘Um, ca-could I use the restroom?’
She pointed to the middle door and I quickly got up.
