Chapter 45

"No, no, no!" I twisted it frantically but it wouldn't budge. They locked me in! They must have known I would escape at the first chance I got, that's why they didn't wake me up to go out with them and locked me in.

I pounded on the door with my fist and laid my head on it when I was exhausted.

What do I do now?

Get something to eat. The annoying voice said.

"And I suppose manna will just fall from heaven!" I raised my hands above my head to gesture, when my eyes saw the trolley pushed to the side and locked on to an unopened platter placed on it. I walked up to it and opened it.

I guess it just did. The voice said, seeing toast, bacon and scrambled eggs on a plate.

Even though it was cold, I wolfed it down.

At least I could think properly now, I told myself as I sat down on the couch.
