Chapter 64

Even if I hated to admit it, Ivani was right. Finding Ophelia was the bigger picture. So I had to do everything possible to achieve that goal. Even if it meant taking shit from Antonio.

It took me four hours to get back to the mansion. Once there, it didn't take long to figure out the reason for the meeting. Antonio had a cold look in his eyes and those eyes were directed at me, his features were tight, he was mad at me apparently. Raymond had a smug look on his face and the others seated around the table occasionally glanced worriedly at me.

So maybe I'd been too busy the past few days to cover my tracks carefully and I'd let some things slip, maybe Raymond had picked up leads on those things… The truth was, I didn't care anymore. Maybe it was time I brought everything out to the open. No more secrets, no more lies and if they took me down because of it, no problem.... But I wouldn't go down without a fight.
