Deal Breaker

Vale walks to her car and drives, heading towards Kayden’s house. She kept thinking about what Keith-the asshole-said to her back in his office.

She’s frustrated as hell, considering she can’t do anything at all. Because he’s a gang leader, and he can do anything as he pleased. What a goddamn deal breaker!

“Argh!”

Vale screamed as she punched the steering wheel in exasperation—sorry, baby.

How did his gang members still trust him when he broke a deal?

Did he always break a deal?

Vale scoffed.

If she wants to get killed, she can kill that son of a bitch right now!

But, now, she can’t.

She has to protect her family and friends. Even if that means getting her hands dirty, she’ll do anything for them.

Vale comes to a halt when she sees Kayden’s car parking at the garage.

Curiosity got the best of her.

She decided to stop in front of the gate and walk out. Just in case something unexpected happens.

It’s only 8:15 pm, and he can’t be back home so early.

Vale mused over while glancing at her watch.

If he were drunk, he would always come back late.

Actually, she comes back from work earlier than him.

She slowly walks to the main entrance, which is slightly open.

She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

Why didn’t he close the door?

She opens the door wide and walk inside.

The clothes scattered on the floor confirmed her suspicion.

She froze.

Her heart twisted.

Her eyes burn hot.

She inhales and exhales her breath, trying to calm herself down, which is a useless attempt.

She holds onto the rail of the staircase for support.

Her hands’ trembles and her lips felt dried as she kept tip-toeing towards their room.

The door is slightly open.

She gulped the lump in her throat as she closed her eyes and breathed.

Letting out a whimper.

Clenching her fist, she peeks through the slight creak of the door and immediately covers her mouth to stop her gasp from being heard.

Her tears fell on its own as she watched the scene unfold.

Her chest tightens as if her breath was being sucked out of her.

Her heart shatters into tiny pieces when she saw Kayden on top of a woman.

Both naked.

The next word that Kayden says crushed her heart in a blink of an eye.

Her heart feels like it’s been torn harshly like a piece of paper.

“I love you, Mia! I love you more than her!!”

Vale stormed out of the house and headed back to Keith’s mansion.

Her hand was shaking, and she almost lost control of her car.

The rain started pouring down, making her sobs harder.

Cold. She felt cold.

Her hands tremble causing her hands to slip on the steering wheel a few times.

She got a few honks from the other car in return, which makes her tremble harder.

She wipes her tears furiously since it was disturbing her view of the road and bite her quivering lips while sobbing.

She knows they’re not drunk. There’s no alcohol scent around the house.

What if they’ve always come to his home when she was out at night or when she was at work?

Asshole!

How long had he been cheating on her?

Why would he do this to her?

Is she not good enough?

Why couldn’t he tell her what’s wrong?

“God damn it, Kayden!! You cheater!!”

Vale screamed as she punched the steering wheel, hard.

Relieving the memories when they were arguing a lot, Vale’s heart bleeds remembering them.

She used her fist to hit her chest, trying to relieve some of the pain as she whimpers in pain.

She came to a halt in front of the mansion gate and leave her car outside still purring, knowing that Louis will take care of it.

The gate is already half-open when she strides towards the mansion, ignoring the confused guards.

She thanked the rain for hiding her tears even when they’re drenching her clothes.

She wouldn’t want them to see her as a cry baby.

Vale walks towards the basement.

Maybe some training will do.

Or a potent drink.

She wanted to forget what she had seen just now.

She doesn’t want to believe it.

But how can she not?

She saw them with her own eyes.

She heard him saying he loves that woman more than her.

Vale’s vision is still blurry because of the tears.

She stumbles into a wall and fall onto the floor with her butt first.

“Ugh!” She whimpered.

The pain of the impact shoots up her butt.

Vale looks up to see Keith looking at her with anger on his face.

Her tears slid down her cheek when she blinked, and his eyes suddenly look at her with concern.

“Hey! Are you okay?”

Vale got up slowly as she looks away from him.

She turns her back on him as she wiped her tears, hating the fact that he caught her eyes water after a very long time.

She ignores him and tried to walk past him.

He grabbed Vale’s arm as he turns her to face him.

She looked down not wanting to show him how vulnerable she is right now—a fresh hot liquid trail down her cheeks as she sniffles.

He caught Vale’s chin between his thumb and index finger. His warm fingers moved flawlessly, wiping away the tears streaming on her cheeks.

She tried holding the tears in, but she can’t.

What Kayden did today had broken her heart in pieces.

Completely.

She turns away from him and ran back to the basement and stopped at the end of the hall.

Vale doesn’t care if he saw her crying.

He’s the reason why she had to feel this agonising pain in her chest.

Damn, it hurt so much.

She opens the metal door and walks inside.

She locked it so no one can stop what she’s going to do next.

***

Keith walks out from the basement door after taking out her anger for Valentina on the unfortunate punching bag.

He doesn’t want to hurt her harder than punishing her for making small mistakes in her mission.

He doesn’t know what happens to his mind to say that lie to her.

He doesn’t even know who Kelly is.

That’s right. He lies to Vale.

She seems a bit distracted, and he doesn’t want to send her to a mission if she’s distracted.

Keith doesn’t want her to get killed or suffer from getting caught.

He made it clear. He’ll keep her safe.

Keith snaps out from his thought when he felt something collided with his body.

It stumbled to the ground.

Valentina.

“Ugh!!”

Anger rush through his veins, but he caught something glistening on her cheeks.

Oh shit! She’s crying!

She looked at him.

“Hey! Are you okay? ”

Keith asked in a concerned tone.

She stands up and turns her back from him.

She tries walking past him but Keith grabbed her arms and turn her around to face him.

Her face lowered as she sniffles.

Keith raises her chin and wipes her tears away as his heart tugged at the sight of her red puffy eyes.

She turns her head away and runs back to the basement.

Whoa! What was that?

Keith knows she’s pissed at him, but that wasn’t how she takes out her anger.

She never cries after the blackmailed day.

Now, Keith doesn’t know what makes her act like that and came back here all of a sudden.

Whatever was it that makes her cry must be the worst thing ever.

One more thing.

Shh! Don’t tell her.

She’s hot and beautiful.

Keith doesn’t know if she can kill a fly, but indeed she kills most of the drug and human traffickers in this town.

He’s proud of her.

And of course, to eliminate everyone who gets in the way to his gang excellent reputation.

He can tell that she really loves her family and friends looking at the way she’s trying her best to complete every mission.

“Hey,”

Keith turned around when he heard a voice behind him.

It’s Caleb, the guy who has a short dark hair.

“Hey,”

Caleb, Jake, Brett, and Dylan are Keith best friends and the most trusted people that he has.

“Where are the others?”

Just then, the three of them show up, throwing Keith a smile.

“What happened with Hot Chick? ”

Jake asked, and Keith narrowed his eyes at him.

Jake raised his hand in surrender.

Keith doesn’t like other men to look at Valentina like she’s prey. He’s the only one who can do that.

He knows she has a boyfriend, and it pisses him off.

But, for sure, he’ll always wait for the day she breaks up with him and runs to him.

Both of them had that attraction, okay?

He doesn’t want to swim in that attraction.

He already tried once and had to be on the bed for a week.

The wild girl kneed him where the sun doesn’t shine.

Suddenly, a loud bang from the basement snaps our heads towards the direction of the sound.

Oh shit!

If she wanted to destroy the basement, I would punish her for sure!
