Chapter 8: Dreams Or Reality? (Part 1)

"No! Don't put me in there! Please no!" I screamed.

At ten years old, I was scared. 'Weapon X' had been through that same contraption that Dr. Don Swanye was trying to push me towards it as well. He wanted me to become a mutant.

"Daddy, please, I've done everything else that you've asked. Please, no, not this!" I shouted as tears streamed down my face.

What father would ever do this to his daughter?

Saber Tooth watched on with a huge smile. He had gotten what he wanted alright.

I shivered and hoarsely continued screaming. "Do this, and I'll let your mother live." He pointed towards the cage in the right hand corner of the room.

"Mommy!" I shouted.

She was lying on her back, with her eyes closed. Completely motionless. She hadn't been living ever since 'Weapon X' had broke free.

"Please, no." I whispered hoarsely as Dr. Swayne threw me over his shoulder.

I pounded my fist on his bony frame. He put me inside the contraption. I screamed when the glass went around me and closed tightly. I watched with a scared expression on my face when Dr. Swayne turned around with his back to me fiddling with gears. That had somehow managed to turn on green and yellow lights above me in the glass contraption. I pounded my tiny fists on the glass. Trying to get out as 'Weapon X' had done, but also, he had become a mutant after that. So he had managed to escape.

"Please, daddy no!"

"Please daddy no!" Saber Tooth snickered and mocked back at me.

I gave him the finger. I might've been young, but that didn't mean squat.

Saber Tooth snarled and went to lunge at me, but Dr. Swayne held up a hand telling Saber Tooth not to lunge.

I screamed over and over again and coughed really hard. It felt like my lungs were going to burst. Gooey green slime dropped from the lights and I screamed as it slowly covered up every part of my body.

I closed my eyes and screamed again as soon as it went over my head and the breath was out of me...

I couldn't breathe...
