Interlude

2 cats stood together, in a bit of a dark room, inside of a twoleg place. They did not say a word to each other, though they knew that they were in the room together. It was just dead silence for a long time, until finally, the blueish she cat decided to speak up to the brownish ginger she cat.

"You brought me here, to talk to a cat, so, where is it?" She said to the ginger she cat. The ginger she cat did not answer the question that the blue she cat had said, as she just stared at the wall of the dark room that they were in.

She blinked a few times, as if she had not heard what the she cat had said, and as if she was the only cat that was in the room at the moment. It was clear though, that she knew that it was not the case at all, and she was just trying to take some time to think.

She was a bit afraid as well, as she knew who it was that she was speaking to as well. Though her father had been a leader of the clans, and he had also been mentored by the same cat that she was with at the moment, it just did not feel the same for her.

Her mate had also been a leader as well, and you would think that she would be used to it, but to be frank, she really did not know the she cat that she was with, all that well after all. Because of that as well, she knew that she had to choose her words smart, and correct too.

Though the blue she cat was starting to get a bit annoyed at all of this, she also knew that they still had plenty of time, and there was no need to be in a rush, or a hurry just yet. She sighed, as she then looked around at the small little twoleg den that she was in.

She had never had to live in a place like this before, nor did she even want to think of being in one. She loved living out in the wild, and she felt bad for kitty pets, as they really did not know what they were missing out on, outside of their warm and cozy little dens.

The kittypet that she was going to be meeting today however, she was a bit different than just a typical one, such as the legendary cat, Firestar, was. Well, at least that was what she had been told by many other cats. A lot of those cats looked up to her as their last sort of hope too.

Though many cats had their eyes on a cat who was the kin of Firestar, and also born as a twoleg, much like the kit that she was going to meet tonight. If all did not work out, than a lot of their eyes would be on the poor little kit that lived at the twoleg place.

She was so young too, as she had been born just a couple of days ago. But soon she would learn from 2 older cats, who the clans were, what they did, and why they were so special. It was up to her, as to what she would do with what she would learn from them.

To be truthful as well, Bluestar, the blue cat that was staring at the ginger she cat, Squirrelflight, was not sure why she had been brought here in the first place. She was quite sure that things would go alright with Moon, as he was still young, and he had not even left his own twoleg place.

Squirrelflight was a bit anxious as well, as this was the first time that she had been the main cat, in helping another cat fulfill their destiny, and a prophecy. Bluestar knew that she could not be too harsh on the poor cat, as she had not been a part of starclan for all that long.

Squirrelflight then looked at the ground, as she was not sure Bluestar was going to react, to the disabled kit that she was about to show her. She knew that Bluestar surely was going to look at the other kits, as they were a lot bigger than her as well... But they did not have the brains that she did.

Squirrelflight eventually lifted her head up, after a little while longer, as she heard a bit of a noise come from the other room. She looked at the open doorway for just a few moments, then she realized for how long she had been silent to Bluestar.

She turned her head to Bluestar, as she was a bit embarrassed, as she had felt like she had already made a bit of a fool of herself as well. Bluestar knew that she was still a bit new to all of this, so she was not judging her too much, as she then nodded to Squirrelflight, as she was getting a bit tired of just sitting there, as she had been waiting for her to speak for quite a while now.

Squirrelflight looked at her for a while, as she had expected the kits, and the mother to come into the current room that they were in, at any moment now, but sadly that had not been to case. She nodded to Bluestar anyways, as she began to speak to her, to explain what was going on.

"I'm sorry, I just thought they would have come in to here at this point, I would have thought by now, that the kits should be hungry for their mothers milk at this point." She said back to Bluestar. Bluestar looked at her, as Squirrelflight waited for Bluestar to say some harsh words to her.

Normally as well, Bluestar would, but she had gotten over herself at this point, and she was okay with waiting for things over a long time span, as it had been non stop for her, ever since the day that she had passed away herself, in the river.

Bluestar looked at her with a bit of a smile on her face, as she shook her head at Squirrelflight. Squirrelflight in return, was a bit confused, and a bit surprised as well, with the bit of a sly reponse that she had just gotten from Bluestar.

Bluestar then looked away from Squirrelflight, as both cats did the same thing, as they turned their eyes over to the door, as if they were waiting for any second, for one of the cats to come crashing through the door. It was not the case however.

Bluestar blinked a few times, as she sighed, and then got herself in a bit more of a comfortable spot on the little strange bed that the kittypets used. It was actually quite a bit comfortable to her surprise, as she would take these over moss any day.

Squirrelflight though, even after she had heard what Bluestar had said to her, was still getting a bit nervous, as she had little jitters crawling across her body. Bluestar noticed it as well, as she rolled her eyes, which Squirrelflight did not see, and then she began to speak to her at the same time.

"I know you a lot more than you think, Squirrelflight... Me and you have a lot in common... Do not worry... You will soon get used to waiting... Come... Sit with me." She said to her. Squirrelflight looked at her for just a few moments, as she was not sure if this might be some sort of test.

She saw the relaxed look in the eyes of Bluestar, and it managed to calm her down quite a bit at the same time too. She eventually nodded to Bluestar, and then she sat down on the little bed that Bluestar was on, with her, with the same surprise that Bluestar had, as to how comfortable it was.

She then closed her eyes, as she was trying to get all of the stress out of her at the same time as well. She had been quite a bit freaked out, and worn out, once she had been told, that she was going to be the main starclan cat, that was going to be a part of the prophecy.

Bluestar was quite the opposite of her though, as she was not nearly as tense as Squirrelflight was at the moment, as she had a bit of a smile on her face, as she just stared through at the little door way that was in front of her, as she just kept on waiting.

The relaxation seemed to make things go a lot faster at the same time as well, as eventually the 2 cats then began to warm themselves up, sitting so close to one another. After a bit longer as well, there was a bit of a quiet noise from not too far away.

Though Bluestar already had her eyes on where it had come from, Squirrelflight lifted her head up, to see the cat that had just spoken. Suddenly the big door that was in front of them, was pushed open at the same time too.

Both cats looked at all of the cats that suddenly began to run into the room, as it was clear that the both of them were a bit surprised, as it had been dead silent just a few moments ago. It did not take them long to realize what was going on as they saw a big she cat, with a bit of a belly begin to walk over to the little bed that they had been laying on.

Both of the cats quickly jumped off, as they did not want to get in the way of the big she cat, that had clearly just given birth a few days ago. The she cat landed on the bed a bit ruggedly, as she then turned her head to the other 3 cats that had followed her into the room.

Those 3 cats that had followed her, also had 3 other much younger, and smaller kits, that looked to be a couple days old on their mouths. The queen then nodded to all of the cats, signifying something to all of them, as they nodded back to her, and then the slowly dropped the kits at her belly.

The kits moved themselves to a spot, on her belly, as they then began to suck milk from out of their mother. The mother looked at her kits with a bit of a smile on her face at the same time too. As she was quite proud of herself, for giving birth to such a fine litter.

Besides one of the kits, which she only looked at for maybe a second or so, with not quite the same smile that she had given to her other kits. She then shook her head at the same time as well, as she looked up at 2 of the older cats, and 1 other cat that was more her own age.

She smiled at them, as they smiled back at her too, proud of her still, even though she had made this litter a few days ago. The queen nodded to them, and then she turned her head over to the cat more her age, and then she began to speak to the tom.

"Thank you for warming up the bed for me Nut!" She said to the tom. The tom looked at her, a bit confused as to what it was that she was talking about. He had not laid in the bed at all, and he had just gotten back home a few moments ago.

The queen did not have her eyes on him anymore, as she had her eyes closed, as she went ahead and let her kits get her milk, as she was so tired, and just wanted to get some sleep. Nut shook his head, as he figured that he needed not to worry about it, and he figured that it had been someone else.

Nut, and the 2 older cats that he was with, looked at each other, and nodded one another, as if they had some sort of hidden agreement, as each of them slowly began to walk out of the room that they were in, now knowing that the queen was now safe.

Now that they had all left the room, and the queen was now sound asleep, both Bluestar, and Squirrelflight then looked at each other and then nodded, as the both of them went over to the kits that Squirrelflight had been speaking to Bluestar about.

They stared at the young kits, with a bit of a smile on their faces, as it had been a while since they had seen young kits, that were at least, still alive. After looking at the kits for a while, Squirrelflight then looked over at Bluestar, and then she began to speak to her.

"Now Bluestar... It might be a bit of a surprise to you, but the kit that could be the backup plan to the prophecy, is not the one that you might expect." She said to Bluestar. However, Bluestar did not seem to be paying Squirrelflight any sort of attention at the moment.

Squirrelflight looked at her, a bit confused as to what was wrong with her, as it seemed like Bluestar had her eyes locked on something. Squirrelflight turned her head over, to see as to what it was that Bluestar was staring at.

To her surprise, it was the kit that Squirrelflight had just spoken of, but for some reason Bluestar already had her eyes locked on her, before she had said anything about it. Squirrelflight seemed a bit surprised, as she had forgotten how smart of a cat, that she had been told, that Bluestar was.

Bluestar kept a big smile on her face, as she then turned her head over to Squirrelflight. She looked at her for just a couple of moments, and then she nodded to Squirrelflight. She stared at her for a bit longer, and then she finally began to speak to her.

"Yes... I see her... She is strong, and smarter than you could ever imagine!"
