Chapter 23: In To The Woods

We had been in this abandoned two leg place for a couple of days now. It was just down the road to Heros home, so that when my mother felt like it was time to go back, we could do so when ever we felt was safe. I shivered at the thought of it as well, as I had my eyes down to the ground.

At first, our mother had gone out and caught some prey for us, like a squirrel and a couple of mice, but that was no longer happening. It was not her fault either, as I looked over her, seeing that she had her eyes closed, and her head down low to the ground, almost as if she could be dead.

I closed my eyes at those thoughts, as I saw that she was breathing. She was not breathing good though, as she had been coughing a lot over the last few days, as well as the fact that it was hard for her to breath, and there was some times blood that came out of her coughs as well.

We had been eating dry food, that had been lift out in some dogs yards. It was nasty, as I never was fond of the fact that we ate a cats dry food, as it did not taste all that good to me. The dogs dry food was even worse to me, and it felt like we were playing with fire as well, when we went in to a yard that had a dog in it.

We did not have much of any other choice, as our mother was far too sick to go out and get prey for us. I was worried for her, as she had the same cough that Brokenfoot and Pintclaw had, shortly before they passed away. I could tell that my brother and sister realized the same thing as well.

I shivered at those thoughts, as I looked over at my mother, as a tear dropped from my eye. I was never as close to her as I was with her parents, but I knew that she was still a good mother, and she still loved us, as there would be no other reason that she would take us all this way, to live with her new mate, when we had a safe and happy place to stay at.

I looked over at Gift, as I also knew that it hurt her the most as well. She had her head to the ground, as her eyes were closed and she was fast asleep. I wish that I could do the same as her, but there was far too much on my mind at the current moment, for me to make it possible to do such as that.

At first, as well, Gift had been complaining about the fact that we had left a safe home, to go live in a beaten down abandoned two leg nest. I knew that it hurt Nifty as well, as she knew just as well as I did, that Gift was in fact right, in this very situation.

Gift was not doing it any more, as she was just as worried for our mother, as the rest of us. I was glad for it as well, as even if I knew that Gift was right, our mother did not need to be reminded of the bad decision that she had made, especially at a time such as this one.

I felt sick, but a different kind of sick, that was not like the one that Nifty had at the moment. I just felt empty, as I felt as if I should just give up. I knew that there was plenty to live for, and I had a whole life ahead of me, but it just felt like it was all over, and that it had just all gone so bad.

I blinked a few times, as I looked over at my brother, at the same time too, as I saw that he, much as I did at the moment, had his eyes wide open, as he continued to stare at our mother. It was clear that he was worried for her, such as I, as I knew that he used to get in a lot of bad fights with her.

He still loved her though, as she was our mother, and she had only wished the best for all of us. Even with, some of the things that she had said to me, or said about me in the past, I still did love her. I was not sure what it was that we could ever do, if we did not have her by our side.

If she was to pass away, than where was it that we could go to? We could try to go to Hero's place, but it was very unlikely that he would let us in. He was in love with our mother, not with us. I was not sure if I even wanted to go in there any ways, as I knew he was sick, just like our mother.

I was quite a bit sure that was where she had got it from as well. I was not sure what it was that we would do if that came to pass, as I did not even want to think about the fact that she could die, and we would be left out to die alone on the streets, as small little kits.

We could try to go back to Nut, but I still was not all that sure if we would even be able to find where he was at. It had taken us a long time to get to this place, as it had been nearly 2 days of walking, and we were not paying any sort of attention to the fact of where we were going in the first place.

I shook my head, as I knew that I could not think negative on the fact that our mother might die. I knew that Pintclaw and Brokenfoot were both a lot older, so it made sense as to why they would pass away from a disease such as that. Our mother was much younger, and it seemed like she was in her prime right now.

I had to think with the thoughts that she would be fine, and that it would all end up being okay. I nodded to my self, at the same time too, as I was glad that I was in fact thinking in that kind of way. I let out a bit of a sad smile, as I then saw that Pike had turned his head over to me.

I moved back a little, as I felt like he was going to have the wrong thought on why it could be that I was smiling. I looked at him for a few moments, as I saw him smile right back at me, with a bit of a sad smile, such as I had just had a few moments ago as well.

We stared at each other for a little bit longer, as it almost seemed like we were reading in to each others thoughts and soul. After a bit longer though, my brother then nodded to me, as he began to speak to me at the same time as well. I nodded back to him, as I listened to what it was that he had to say to me.

"We should get some sleep... We have to get up early, before the dog gets out in to the yard." He said to me. I looked at him for a few moments, as I then nodded, as I realized that he was right at the same time as well. I also knew that he had a bit of a different reason as to why he had said that in the first place too.

It was because we needed to clear out our train of thoughts, and the best way to do that, was to just fall asleep. Who knows... We might even wake up in the morning, to see Nifty up on her feet, with a big smile on her face, ready to start a good, and fun day for the rest of us.

I was fairly certain that was not the case at all though, as I knew that she had gotten worse and worse over the last few days. At the same time too, I had a vague memory of what Brokenfoot had once said to me, as it had gone along the lines of, 'A cat gets rid of its sickness, right after it goes through its worst parts.'

It sure did seem like our mother was going through her worst parts as well, as I saw a lot of blood on the ground, as if she had got a really bad cut. I let out a bit of a soft sigh, as I did my best to just shut out all of those thoughts that were in my head, at the exact same time as well.

I so badly wanted to get close to my mother, and hold her for a bit of time, but I also knew that she had told us to stay away from her, as she did not want us to get sick like her. She had a bit of a fair point, as I knew that she was right, but it still kind of hurt me that she did not want us to get near her.

I shook off all of those thoughts, as I realized just how late it was in the first place, as I looked up in the sky, as I saw the stars flickering a little bit. I tilted my head, as I was a bit confused at the same time too. As weird as it was for me to say, it almost felt like the stars were trying to convey a message to me.

I felt like a bit of an idiot at the same time as well though, as I then looked away from the sky, and I closed my eyes. I did not realize how tired I even was, and I also knew that if our mother was still sick, than we had to get up early, so that we could get some dry dog food, before it was too late.

I dipped my head a bit low to the ground, as I moved my self close to Gift, which still felt a bit strange to me, but at the same time, I also knew that we needed each other in a time such as this. After I held on to her for a bit longer, and we warmed each other up, as I heard a loud purr come from her, I then fell in to a deep sleep.

I woke up, as I blinked a few times. It took me a bit of time, to get used to the bright sun light, which was a bit strange to me, as the sun was in the opposite direction in the sky in the morning. That was, unless no one had woke me up, and I had just slept through the whole day.

After my eyes got used to the rays of the sun, I then began to look around at where it was that I was even at in the first place. I blinked a few times, as I continued to turn my head. I was not in the same place that I had fallen asleep at, as I did not see Pike, Gift, nor Nifty any where near me.

I also realized that I was not in the two leg place as well, as I looked around at where it was that I was at right now. I blinked, as I realized that I was in the yard of the two leg place that I had fallen asleep at last night. I was a bit confused as to how I had gotten here, as I figured I must have slept walked.

It was not the first time that it had happened to me though, so it was no real surprise to me at all. I looked at the two leg place that was ahead of me, as I stared at it for a bit of time. I let out a bit of a loud sigh at the same time too, as I began to walk over to the abandoned two leg place.

I realized right away, that I could not move my body at all. I began to freak out at the same time too, as I had fallen in to sleep paralysis more than once before, and it was not a fun thing to experience, as all of these scary and evil creatures often ran at me, threatening to kill me and my entire family.

It was the worst as well, as most of the time, I had my family right in front of my eyes, as they were on the ground beneath me. They would go close to them, and put their razor sharp claws up next to their necks, as if they were about to cut them in two.

I blinked a few times, as I knew that blinking was not normal at all, as I could not close my eyes when I was in that kind of state. I was not sure what was going on with me at all, at the current moment, as I still could not help but to freak out just a little bit.

I shook my head, as I tried to move, and head over to the place again, but it once again, seemed to work to no avail. I gave up, as it felt hopeless at this point. I knew eventually they would look for me, and they would find me, so I just had to sit, and wait for just a little while.

A sudden burst of wind blew past me, just as I had cleared my thoughts, so that I would be stress free, while I waited for some one to look for me. It made me shiver a little bit, as I turned my back away from the wind, so that I did not bury my face it the cold gust of wind.

As I looked away from the wind, I then spotted a cat, not too far away from me. It looked as if it could be the fur of my mother, but she was a fair bit too far for me to see. Either way, I felt as though I should yell to the cat, to get its attention, so that it could come and help me out of what ever it was that I was stuck in at the current moment.

I held my breath in, as I let in a good bit of air, so that I would be able to yell at the top of my lungs, to get the cat to try to help me, but also to get my brother and my sister to hear me, that way they could come and find me, wherever it was that I was at, at the current moment in time.

I looked at the cat that was in front of me for a bit of some time, as at this point, I had given up on the fact that it could be my mother, as I knew that she was too sick to walk. I just wanted this cat to come and help me, as it did not seem to be a stray, that might attack me, just based off of the smooth fur that it had.

As I stared at the cat for a bit of some time, I began to see that it was starting to walk further away from me, and I knew that I needed to get its attention, before it was too late for me. I shivered a little bit, as I was still a bit worried, but I shook off all of those thoughts, as I then began to yell at the top of my lungs to the cat.

"Please help me! I am stuck!" I yelled to the cat, to try to get its attention on me. But the wind, was so strong, and it was so loud, it felt as if my words were of no use, as I saw that the cat was walking further and further away from me. I stared at the cat for a bit longer, but then I dipped my head down, as the wind did not seem to want to stop at any time soon.

I gave up, as I closed my eyes, and I then began to cry at the same time as well. I did not know what to do, and I just wanted to go home. I was stuck in the middle of no where, and my mother was dying. There was no one to help us, and my kin mates seemed to be giving up at this point.

I felt like I should join them in that, as I began to start to think dark thoughts... We were all going to die... Even if we did not, we were going to be a nasty stray cat, eating off dumpster trash for the rest of our lives. I continued to keep crying, as the thoughts kept swarming through my brain, like a pesky rat heard.

I then felt some thing warm grab on to me, as it lifted my head up at the same time as well. I opened my eyes at the sane time too, as I was a bit confused as to what it was that it could be. I turned my head around, only to see a cat, as it had lifted my head up, to try to get my own attention for some reason.

I looked at the cat, as I squinted my eyes at it at the same time too, as I was a bit confused on why it had done that. I blinked a few times, as I saw that the cat had a smile on its face for some odd reason or another, as it was clear that she was happy.

It was the opposite of me, and it kind of annoyed me, as to the fact that it could have a smile on its face, at a time such as the one that I was in. I blinked a few times as well, as I realized that the cat was the one that I had yelled at, not too long ago, as I had thought that it had not heard me.

I stared at the cat, for a bit more time, as suddenly my jaw dropped, as I had a bit or a shocked look on my face, as I realized right away, as to who the cat was, that I was looking at, in the first place. It could not be true... I had to be in a dream, or some sort of false sense of a reality at the very least.

It had a long time since I had last seen the face of this cat, but the face was not hard to miss, and neither was the broken paw that it carried around with her as well. I let out a loud gasp, as all of the sudden, I was able to move, as I ran over to the cat, to hold on to her for the longest amount of time.

She let me do so, as I began to think that I might be dead... Maybe I was in Starclan with her, as I could clearly tell that she was there, as she had explained to me a long time ago, what the fur of a Starclan cat even looked like in the first place.

We held on to each other for a long period of time, as none of this felt any sort of real to me. I blinked a few times at the same time too, as I began to realize that all of the stories that she had told me, could perhaps, in fact, be true in the end.

Brokenfoot, just as soon as I had thought in to it, moved off of me, as I saw at the same time too, that she had her eyes squinted at me, for some odd reason. I tilted my head, as I was a bit confused on what it was that she was doing, at the very moment in time.

She squinted her eyes at me for a bit longer, like she always had done when I was younger, and I had made some sort of mistake. I blinked a few times, as I began to get worried if that might have in fact been the case. Brokenfoot just shook her head at me how ever, as she began to speak, and I listened to what it was that she had to say.

"We do not have much time... Follow me, as I must show you where you need to go to..." She said to me. I looked at her for a few moments, as it made sense as to why she had pushed my off so easily, but at the same time as well, I was in fact, a bit confused on what it was that she had meant by it.

I looked at her for a little while longer, as I breathed in heavily, as I began to realize that I could in fact now move around, much unlike I could do earlier. I was a bit lost on all of what could be going on at the current moment, but I shook my head, as I knew that the answers would come in due time.

I looked over at the two leg place, that I knew that Gift, Pike, and Nifty were in at the current moment. I wanted to go back over to them, and wake them up, so that I could tell them to follow me at the same time too. But I also realized as well, that Nifty would not be able to go with us, and also the fact that Brokenfoot had just told me that we did not have much time.

I blinked a few times, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the same time as well. I then turned my head back over to Brokenfoot, as I nodded to her. She nodded back to me, as I let out a bit of a soft sigh, before eventually beginning to speak back to her.

"Al- Al- Alright... I will follow you... But... Do you think Nifty is going to be alright?" I asked her, as she nodded at first, as to what I had said to her, as she began to turn her head over to where it was that she was about to take me too, as to how it was supposed to be the place that she had said I needed to go.

As I then said the last part of what I had said to her, I saw her wince for some odd reason, which I was a bit confused of, and a bit afraid of at the same time as well. I was not so sure as to what it was, or why she might have winced, but I felt a chill run down my spine, for some odd reason or another, at the same time tine as well.

We stood there for a few moments, as she did not say a word back to me, after what it was that I had just said to her, nor did she move in the direction of the place that she had said she was going to take me. I was not sure what was going on at the moment, as I was not sure if now was the time to start to freak out or not either.

Eventually, after a little while longer, I saw that Brokenfoot had turned her head back over to me. She had a bit of a sad look on her face, as a single tear dropped from one of her eyes, at the exact same time too. I tilted my head, as I was a bit lost by what she was hurt, or upset about.

Brokenfoot dipped her head a bit low to the ground, as she stared at the green grass for a little bit of time. I blinked a few times, as for some reason it felt as if I might have hit a soft spot in her, as to what it was that I had just said to her in the first place.

I was a bit lost, as I felt like I had suddenly forgot what I said, and I was a bit worried if I might have said some thing mean or rude, or some thing that might have hurt her, or struck a deep spot in to her soul. I too then dipped my head low to the ground, such as she had done.

We both stood in our same spots for a little bit of time, as neither of us said a word back to one another. After a little while longer how ever, it seemed that Brokenfoot was about ready to respond to the question that I had just asked of her a few moments before hand.

Brokenfoot lifted her head up, as she let out a bit of a soft sigh, and a bit of a sigh in pain at the same time too. I was a bit confused by it, as it kind of hurt me as well, as if it had resonated through the both of us. I felt a bit of an empty in hollow pit in my soul all of the sudden, for some odd reason.

Brokenfoot shook her head, though I was not paying her all that much attention, as I was quite a bit confused on what it was that was going on with me. Brokenfoot finally began to speak back to me however, as I lifted my head up, to hear what it was that she had to say to me.

"It is up to Starclan now, to make that decision... Do not front about it... Follow me..." She said to me. I looked at her for a few moments, as I was a bit confused on what it was that she had said to me just now. I blinked a couple of times, as it then hit me, as to what it was that she had just said to me as well.

I remembered saying what I had said a few moments ago, as I remembered it word for word. I shivered a little bit as well, as it was by no means an answer to the question that I had just asked of her. It kind of got me a bit worried, and a bit sick at the same time too.

I stared at her for a little while longer, as I saw that her eyes were no longer on me at all, but rather on some thing else that was ahead of her. I was a bit too lost in my head, to think on what it was, that it could be right now, as I was so worried for my mother.

I then saw that Brokenfoot had begun to walk, as I lifted my head up, as I was a bit confused on what it was that she could be doing at the current moment. It then hit me, as to what it was that she had asked of me to do, just a few moments before now.

I blinked a few times, as I was lost on how it was that I was going to follow her. I was stuck in this spot, just as I had been a little while ago. My body did not seem to be with me either, which confused me quite a bit, as I lifted my head to the side a little bit, to try to look at my self.

I shivered a little bit, as I was lost on what it was that was going on right now. I then moved my paws just a little bit how ever, as I began to realize that I could in fact move now. I stared at her, as I saw that she was getting a fair distance ahead of me now, as I knew that I had to catch up ground on her as well, as I was just a small kit.

I then turned my head a little bit, as I saw the two leg place that we had been staying in, the last couple of nights. I looked at it for quite a bit of time, as I thought about walking over to it, to make sure that my brother, and my sister were okay at the moment. I also was worried sick about my mother as well.

Some thing stopped me from doing so how ever, as I then turned my head over to Brokenfoot, who I could see was a fair bit in the lead of me, as she had stopped at the same time as well. I was a bit confused by it, as I saw that she had her head turned over to me, as she was staring at me.

I blinked a few times, as I then saw her nod to me. It was clear as to what it was that she was telling me to do, as I then nodded back to her. After a little bit longer as well, I began to run over to her, as it seemed like I was running much faster than before, as my limp seemed to have magically gone away from me.

It was not where my head space was at, at all right now, as I shook off those thoughts, and continued to follow where it was that I could see that Brokenfoot was waiting for me at. I let out a bit of a smile as well, as I felt the wind fly across my back, as it felt nice to be like this, as it almost felt, as crazy as it was to say, that I was strong.

I shook off all those thoughts how ever, as I stopped my self, all of the sudden, at the same time as well. I was a bit confused, and a bit lost on what it was that was going on right now. It seemed as if Brokenfoot had just seemed to disappear right in front of my eyes.

I was a bit lost by it, as I began to freak out at the same time too, as I then turned my head around, trying to remember where it was that I had come from in the first place. I was breathing in heavily, as I should be, due to the fact that I had been running so fast in the first place.

I looked around, as I looked to where it was that Brokefoot might have gone to. I began to ball my self up, at the same time as well, such as a scared little kit would do, when they were lost. I was in fact lost, as though it had not seemed like I had gone far, I did not spot any thing that was around me at the current moment, that I recognized at all.

I then began to yell for help, as I was not sure what else to do right now. I then heard a bit of a loud hiss come from some where behind me. I blinked a few times, as I began to get even more scared than before, as it sounded like some one was about to attack me.

As I turned my head around, I looked up on top of the fence where it had came from, as I began to relax at the same time too, as I realized that it had only been Brokenfoot, and that there was nothing that I needed to be worried about at the current moment.

I blinked a few times, as I saw her nod her head to me, to tell me that I needed to jump on top of the fence with her. I blinked a few times, as I then nodded to her, at the exact same time as well. The fence that was in front of me, was not nearly as big as the one that had been in Nuts yard, as I could almost see through this fence.

I was not worried about not making the jump at all, as at the same time, I also felt stronger than I ever had before. I then jumped on top of the fence, so that I could join Brokenfoot, as I blinked a few times, and then I looked at what was in front of me, as I was a bit confused by all of it.

It was a massive bunch of trees, which was clear that it was the wood, and that it was the wild. At any other time, I would say that it was beautiful, and I would gaze at it in awe. This was not one of those times though, as I had a lot of other things that were on my mind at the moment.

I shook my head, as I turned my head over to Brokenfoot, as I was a bit lost on why it was that she had taken me to this spot, in the first place. I squinted my eyes at her, as she then nodded to me at the same time as well. I tilted my head at her, as I was a bit confused on what it was that she was trying to say to me at the same time as well.

Brokenfoot rolled her eyes at me, for some odd reason or another, which confused me even more, as it was clear to me, that I was some how missing some thing that was important. Brokenfoot finally began to speak to me, as I then began to listen to what it was that she had to say to me.

"This is it... This is where you need to go to..." She said to me. I looked at her for a few moments, as I was a bit confused by all of it. I had always imagined living out in the wild, but they had always reminded me, time and time again, that it was a scary, and dangerous place, no matter how amazing it was.

It was especially not a place for a kit like me, as they had told me, unless I had some sort of protection. Why was she now telling me that this was where I needed to be at? At a time such as this, when we did not have an access to any sort of food, besides the one that was in the dogs back yard.

Nifty was sick, and she was in pain... I was quite a bit sure that she would not even be able to jump a simple jump such as this one, much less be able to walk at all. We had to carry her dry dog food, and rotted up moss, so that she could eat, and drink, over the last couple of days.

I turned my head over to Brokenfoot, to make it clear to her, that I had not a clue as to what it was that she was trying to tell me by this. Brokenfoot did not have her eyes on me at all how ever at the moment, as it was clear that her eyes were out in the wild at the moment, probably thinking of when she used to live there.

I shook my head though, as I knew that I should not be worried about her at the current moment, as I coughed quite a bit loud, so that I was able to get her attention, at the exact same time too. Brokenfoot turned her head over to me, as she then nodded for me to go ahead and speak to her, which I did in fact do so.

"How am I going to be able to get Nifty here? She won't let me do that anyways, and I can tell you that Gift and Pike will not want to be here." I asked of her. She looked at me for just a few moments, as I blinked a few times, as I waited for some kind of answer from her.

She did not answer me at all how ever, as she then suddenly turned her eyes away from me, for some odd reason or another. I was a bit lost on to why that could be such as so, as it was also starting to get on my nerves a bit, at the same time too.

I saw that she had a bit of a sad look in her eyes, as I saw that her eyes were focused on some thing in specific at the same time as well. I tilted my head, as I was a bit confused by it at the same time too. I shook my head, as I gave up, after a few moments had passed along.

I turned my head over, to see what it was that she could be staring at right now. I blinked a few times, as I realized that it was a cat... It was not just any normal cat, but it was a cat that looked much like Brokenfoot, in many ways. One of those was the fact that they had the same color of fur.

The other was the fact that they were almost able to see through them at the same time too. I blinked a few times, as it then hit me, as to who the cat was, that I was looking at right now. The cat was my mother... Now it really began to feel like I was in some sort of crazy dream.

I looked at Nifty for a bit of some time, as she seemed to be staring right back at the 2 of us. I was a bit confused on what was going on, as I figured that I was about to say some thing. That was, until I noticed that there was some thing wrong with her eyes at the same time as well.

Her eyes were just pure white, without any form of color on the pupils at all. I was a bit confused by it, but also a bit scared as well, as it freaked my out just a little bit. I turned my head over to Brokenfoot, trying to find some sort of help, but as I looked over to her, I saw that she was now gone, no where to be seen at all.

I looked around for a few moments, as I wondered if she had done the same thing as she had done earlier, where she had disappeared, but she had gone off to some other place that was not too far away from me, as it had been clear that she had been waiting for me to follow her.

I turned my head in just about every direction possible, but I did not see her any where. I shook my head, as I gave up after a little while longer, and I then turned my head over to where I had just seen Nifty. As I looked over to her, I saw that she too, just like her mother, had also gone missing.

I began to get a bit worried, as it felt like some thing was going on right now. I was just about to hop down from the fence, and head back over to the two leg place, to make sure that Pike and Gift were okay at the two let place. I turned my head back to the way that I had just come from.

It was gone though, as all I saw was darkness. I began to freak out even more than I had before, as I was not sure what was going on right now. I turned my head back around, to the woods, as I hoped to at least find some thing over there, or maybe even head off in to that direction at the same time as well.

As I looked that way though, I saw that it was just a dark black path that way as well. I blinked a few times, as I began to calm my self, as I began to realize that this was in fact a dream. I looked down below me, as I saw that I was still on the fence right now, as it was the only thing that I could see through my eyes, all around me.

As I looked at the fence for just a little while longer, I then realized that I saw a cat running across it, as it was heading right over to me, to try to attack me. I was a bit confused as to what was going on, as it began to draw closer and closer to me, with no sort of look that it planned on stopping at any time soon.

I was not sure who the cat was at all, but it was clear that it was coming to me, with a look in its eyes, that its only thought were to kill. I tried moving, but I was stuck in place. I instead just closed my eyes, as I did my best to try to pretend that it was not there with me.

I waited a few moments, as I no longer heard the foot steps, of the cat sprinting right over to me. It seemed like the cat had gone away, though I was still a bit hesitant to open my eyes, and see what was in front of me, as I was afraid that it was just waiting to slit my throat at any second.

I gulped a little bit, as it seemed to just be dead silence around me at the current moment, as I then began to feel a bit of warmth fill the air. I heard crickets, and relaxing noise, that I often heard, when I was listening to the noise that I heard out side of our two leg den.

I finally decided to open my eyes, to see what it was that was around me at the current moment. I then began to calm my self, as I realized that I was in the wild, and it was all so nice and beautiful to me. A bit of a smile began to crack on my face, as it seemed as if I had forgot what had happened just a few moments ago.

It was the greatest thing that I had ever seen in my life, as it was not just the look, but it was also the noise, and the smell. It was the most beautiful thing in the world to me. I closed my eyes, as I just let it all soak in to me, at the same time as well.

That did not seem to last all that long though, as the noise seemed to disappear, just as soon as it had come up in to my brain. I blinked a few times, as I was a bit disappointed by it, as I then opened my eyes, to see what was in front of me at the current moment this time.

I blinked a few times, as I realized where it was that I was at, as it was about damn near impossible for me not to know where I was at right now, as I had lived here for the most of my life, up until the last few days, where we had to live in an abandoned two leg nest.

I looked around, at where it was that I was at, as I seemed to hear two legs talking in the back ground, in the other room, as I turned my head over to where it was that I heard the noise coming from. I looked over at the closed door way, for a little while longer, as I saw that couch of the living room ahead of me.

I also saw a cat on that couch as well, who I instantly recognized to be Nut. He had a bit of a sad look on his face, even though he was asleep. It was as if he was having a bad dream, that was not all that much scary to him. I felt a bit bad for the poor tom cat, as I knew that he had been madly in love with my mother Nifty.

Speaking of Nifty, I saw her on top of the couch, sitting beside Nut right now. She did not look to have any sort of emotion in her face at all either, which confused me a bit. I then saw the blank white look in her eyes, as it once again, began to freak me out, to even look at a thing as such.

I shivered a little bit, as I just stared in to her eyes, for quite a bit of some time, as I was not sure what else to do. After a little while longer as well, she began to speak up to me, but in a voice that was not hers at all, as I listened to what it was that she had so say to me, at the exact sane time as well.

The blood will fall

But you must stand tall

You decide the fate of them all

One day they'll look in awe

She said to me, in quite the most strange voice that I had ever heard from her. It was clear that it was not her voice at all, but rather, it was a voice that I could not differentiate on whether it could be a tom cat, or a she cat that had just spoken out of the mouth of my mother.

I tilted my head for a few moments, as I was a bit lost on what it was that she had said to me, and also a bit confused on what it was that she had meant by it too. I had not a clue as to what it was that she had meant by it, and I was about to ask her, but just as I had blinked, she then disappeared.

Not just her, but also the room that I had been in, as I looked around me at the same time as well. I was not sure where it was that I was at right now, as it was quite a dark room. I was a bit scared, and a bit freaked out by what it was that had just happened to me, as I did my best to stay calm.

I kept my eyes closed for a bit of some time, as I did not dare open them at all, as I did not want to find my self in a new place again. I was a bit tired of this dream that I had been in, as it had not just freaked me out, but it also had wore me out at the same time as well.

I let out quite a bit of a sigh, as I just wanted it all to end, so that I could wake up, and make sure that my kin mates, and also my mother was okay, as this dream had scared me quite a bit. I felt a bit of some wind, as I opened my eyes, to see what it was that had done so, as I had to figure I was in a new place.

It was not the case at all how ever, as I looked around to see that I was in the same dark spot that I had been in a few moments ago. I blinked a few times, as I was a bit surprised by it, but also a bit annoyed as well, as to the fact that I still had not woken up from this overly long dream that I had been stuck in for what seemed like forever.

I closed my eyes again, as I did my best to just try to wake up, which usually happened when I squeezed my eyes very tight, and I drowned out all of the noise that was around me. Just as I was about to do so as well, I then heard the loud screaming of a cat.

I opened my eyes right away, once again, as I was in the same spot that I had been in, just a few moments ago. I blinked my eyes, as I was a bit confused as to where I had heard it coming from in the first place. I shook my head, as I then began to hear the voice yelling once again.

I turned my head over to where I had heard it coming from, as I saw that there was a bit of a broken down stair way leading up to it. I looked at the stair way for a few moments, as it seemed oddly familiar, but I shook it off, as I thought about going up the stairs, to hear what all the fuss was about.

I felt like it was a bad idea, as it almost felt like I was stuck in some sort of endless night mare. I knew that the scream had been one of a kit, and I could not live with my self, if I did not make sure that the kit was going to be okay, at the very least.

I blinked a few times, as I made my decision in the end, that I was going to go up the stairs, as I began to slowly walk up the beaten down stairs, watching my path all the while I was doing so, so that I made sure that I did not break the stairs, while I was marching up them.

I let out a loud sigh, as I felt like this was a terrible idea, but at the same time as well, I felt like I did not have much of a choice, as I knew that I could not live with my self, if I did not make sure that the kit was okay. I blinked a few times, as my heart stopped, as I heard the kit yell from closer to me than before, as I heard every word that she had said.

"Wake up! Please wake up Nifty!" I heard the kit yelling. I stared at the stair way that was ahead of me, for just a little while longer, as I realized who's voice that was, right away. I felt sick, as it hit me, the words that I had just heard her say, at the exact same time as well.

I did not hesitate at all this time, as I now began to sprint up the stairs, as fast as I possible could. Once I was up, I then realized where it was that I was at, as I knew that I was in the hallway of the abandoned two legs den, that we had been staying in, for the last couple of days.

I turned my head, as I heard whimpering from the room right beside me, as I quickly began to head over to that room, at the exact same time as well, to make sure that all was okay, and what had seemed like was happening, was not true at all.

Just as I got to the door way to the room that I heard the yelling coming from, all of the sudden, something slammed through the broken door. I was a bit confused for a few moments, as I realized that it was a pool of water that was smashing right over to me.

I stopped my self, as my body, and my mind seemed to stop. I blinked a few times as well, as I realized that it was not water at all, but it was rather blood. The blood of my mother... The blood slammed in to me, and took me down, all the way down the stairs, as I closed my eyes.

It was impossible to breath, as the blood was hot and it was mushy as well, making there no way to be able to swim up to the top of it. I stopped fighting for a few moments, as I just let it engulf me, as I knew that there was no way out of it.

I blinked upon my eyes, it a bit of a startle, as I breathed in heavily, over and over again, as I realized that I was actually not able to breath, whilst I had been in that dream. I looked around me for a few moments, as I spotted Pike in the corner, as I quickly began to head over to him.

I was glad that it was all just a dream, and I was finally able to get it over with as well. As I drew closer to him, I saw that he had a bit of a blank expression on his face, which was not normal for him at all. I tilted my head, as I was a bit confused on what it was that was going on with him at the current moment in time.

I stopped my self, as I was not sure what to do, or what it was that I should say to him. Just as I had thought of some thing, or some sort of question to ask what might be going on at the moment, I heard the voice of my sister let out a bit of a moan from behind me, as I turned my head over to her, to hear what it was that she had to say.

"Please... Wake up for me... We need you..." She said to the cat that was laying on the ground beside her. I stared there for a few moments, as I was not sure what was going on, or what it was that she could possibly be talking to, at the current moment in time.

I then looked behind her, as I saw that there was blood all over my sister, as if she had just got out of a really big fight, with a bunch of other cats. I began to get a little bit worried, as I blinked a few times, and I realized that it was in fact, not her own blood that she was in at the current moment.

It was the blood of our mother... My heart stopped, as it certainly was a lot more blood than I had seen on the ground, just the night before. It was oozing all over to floor, and heading right over to me as well, as I moved back, unlike Gift, as I was a bit scared to touch it.

That was simply just because of the dream that I had just been in however. There was a lot of blood on the ground right now, but not nearly as much as there had been in that dream that I had just been in. I dipped my head a bit low to the ground, as it felt like the dream that I had just had, had also been a slight sense of reality as well.

I saw my mothers limp body on the ground, as she had her eyes wide open, and she had her mouth open as well, as there was blood on her lips. She was dead... I was not sure what to do, as a part of me wanted to run over to her, just as Gift had done, but my body would not let me do so.

I was stuck... I felt sick... I felt like none of this could be real... It was all happening so fast... Suddenly, just as I had those thoughts go through my brain, I then had other thoughts at the same time as well, as I remembered a slight bit of my dream.

I turned my head over to Pike, who I saw had his eyes on our mother. My thoughts were not on my mother at all how ever. My thoughts were on the dream, and what it was that had been said to me in it. I blinked a few times, as I then began to speak to Pike.

"Pike... Listen..." I said to him. At first it had not seemed like he had heard me, but after a few moments he turned his head over to me, with a blank look in his eyes. I shook my head, as I shook off all of those thoughts, as I began to speak to him again. "We have to go in to the woods..."
