Chapter 48
Reid woke up with a start, his body shaking violently as he sat up from the bed he was currently on.
'What happened!? Where am I!?' He looked around frantically only to find himself alone in a small room.
There was a small table and a chair by the side but the room was otherwise empty. It did nothing to lower his panic as he spread his perception, feeling multiple people around him.
'Impossible! They survived? How!?' He thought as he shot up from the bed, immediately falling into [Presence Concealment], pulling a kunai from his inventory.
'I'm going to end this once and for all.' He thought, feeling someone coming towards the room.
With a simple jump and a small flip, his legs were sticking to the ceiling, crouched flat as someone entered the room.
His sharingan boring into the back of the man that entered the room. The man looked around the room frantically but neglected to look up.
"What…? Where did he go?" The man muttered in shock and confusion as he looked for Reid who was on the ceiling above him.
With the kunai in his hand ready, he let himself fall down behind the man, the tip of the small blade merely two inches from the man's head when his body froze.
'Why can't I move!?'
"Reid stop!" A familiar voice yelled in panic, alerting the man Reid was about to kill as the man screamed in shock before passing out on the floor.
Reid turned his eyes to the source of the voice, seeing a lean white haired man in a wheelchair looking at him with intense concentration.
"What are you doing here!? Why can't I move!?" Reid screamed as he struggled to move his body. His body was literally vibrating from how he resisted the invisible hold on his body.
"I'll explain when you put the knife down and calm down." Silva said in a calming manner that had no effect on the boy.
"Let me go!" He screamed as his aura burst out of his body in all directions, freeing him from the force holding him.
With a flick of his wrist, the kunai was sent speeding towards the head of the fainted man only for it halt barely an inch away.
"Why are you protecting him? They destroyed the village!" Reid demanded coldly as he pulled out two kunai this time.
"Don't tell me, you're working with them?" He said as he tensed.
"These aren't the people who invaded the village." Silva quickly said as he saw Reid get serious.
"What?" Reid said, not understanding what exactly he meant. He gestured for the man to continue explaining which he quickly did.
"We're in Shion village. I brought you here after you almost died." Silva explained quickly, letting out a breath of relief as Reid slowly lowered his kunai.
From how fast he threw that kunai before and what he already knew, he could tell that if the boy decided to attack him, he'd be dead.
"How did I get here?" Reid demanded, his eyes showing unmatched rage and hatred but his voice was cold.
"I saw the explosion from quite a distance. I realized it was in the direction of the village but by the time I got there, everything was gone and you were lying on the floor half dead." Silva explained.
Only then did Reid finally register that he was fully bandaged from his neck to his knees. Bandages also covered his forehead, his nose and part of his cheek.
"It's a miracle that you managed to survive. The doctors here said you wouldn't make it." Silva added as Reid inspected his wrapped body.
"I'd advise that you lay down so you won't pull your sti-!" His word got stuck in his throat as Reid tore off the bandages in one swift tug.
"What are you doing!? Yo-!" Once again he was short of words as Reid looked at his unblemished body with no surprise at all. There wasn't even a scratch to show that he had previously been injured.
"How is this possible?" Silva muttered in shock.
"How long have I been out?" Reid asked the man as he stared outside the open window.
His voice was able to shock the man out of his trance as he quickly answered.
"You've been out for about a week now. You shouldn't be moving right now, even if your injuries look healed there's no guarantee that it didn't leave something behind." Silva tried to say as Reid climbed out the open window.
Despite his clothes having been destroyed in the explosion, he found himself in a pair of calf length pants, leaving his torso bare.
"Where are you going?" Silva questioned in worry and confusion as the boy landed on the cold ground outside.
"I'm going for a walk. Don't follow me." He answered as he blurred away from view.

He found himself in the forest some distance from the village as he slammed his fist into a tree, the bark gained a deep dent.
"AAAAAHH!" He screamed in rage as he sent another punch into the same tree.
The memories of his mother being crushed before his very eyes played in his mind as his sharingan seemed to glow menacingly.
'Turwen!' He screamed internally, his aura responding to his anger as it became visible around him.
His focus was taken as a few prompts appeared before his eyes despite his anger.

It felt like the system was mocking him, reminding him of his failure to save his mother.
"Screw you!" He couldn't help but scream as tears rolled down his eyes.
He couldn't help but wonder, if he had these two skills during the invasion, would it have made a difference? Would he have been able to save her?
A look at his stats made him really consider those questions.

He contemplated whether to assign the points or not. He could raise them manually now that he wasn't about to die but he still felt the urge to use them.
He assigned 10 to Str, 16 to Dex and 10 to Wis, watching the numbers sort themselves.

Just as he finished organizing his stats, he turned to the side with a cold look. A few creature crawled out of the forest around him, their body black as night with bone armor around them.
Whether he was conscious of it or not, the intense negative energy he exuded attracted the creatures of Grimm close to him.
Despite it being his first time being meeting one, he wasn't scared at all. Glowing red eyes met red eyes as he stared down the pack surrounding him.
"Just in time. I'll use you to test my new strength." He said as they circled him, coming closer every second.
'I refuse to be weak ever again!' He declared as lightning gathered around his palm.
*Chirp!* *Chirp!* *Chirp!*
"Come." He said coldly as they jumped towards him, their jaws snapping at him.
