"Now be good and drink the wine." Richard told Juliet, turning his back to her as he made his over to the desk. Juliet didn't move, but eyed the glass on the table. She could use the drink, but wasn't sure if she could trust it wasn't spiked.
"And how am I supposed to get in contact with you after this?" She asked, moving closer to the table as she debated about the wine.
"What do you think this notepad is for? I'm sure you can follow some easy instructions." The other replied, not moving from his leaned over position as he presumably continued writing. "The wine isn't spiked so drink it already otherwise It'll seem odd. There's five more minutes to waste anyways." He turned around after ripping off a piece of paper from the notepad and folding it neatly.
"Five more minutes to waste until what?" Juliet asked, feeling once again that this man was more suspicious than worth trusting.
"If I don't want to bugged about who you are and our relationship. We've been here for fifteen but I am with someone no less than twenty on a short day. Especially when my friend is waiting for me."
"So I'm not the only girl you've gone and done this to then." Juliet gave him a critical look as he said this which caused him to chuckle.
"You're quite astute. You're not the first nor will you be the last. However, you'll probably be the only one who's ended up here out of careless curiosity and leave untouched." She gave him another hard look that he interpreted to mean that she wasn't sure what he meant, but before she could voice her confusion, Richard raised his hand to stop her. "Drink." he ordered again, this time giving the glass a slight push towards Juliet who made a sound akin to a huff before picking it up later. "I'm a busy man as I said before and have somewhere more important to be. I'll explain later." she stared at him for a few seconds before bring the wine glass up to her lips and quickly downing the contents.
"Happy now?" she asked a sharp tone to her voice as she put the empty glass down. A mixed look between amusement and dismay pissed over Richard's face as he turned away from her to move towards the door.
"Your decorum could use some work." was the reply she got as the other opened the door. Juliet felt as her face became warm following this comment, unsure if it was due to the wine or his rudeness but before she had a chance to reply, the other had already disappeared leaving the door open behind him.
Once back to the main floor, Richard thanked Walter for his as he started to head back towards the CEO office he knew his friend would be waiting for him.
Pulling his phone out he sent a text to let Daniel know he had gotten distracted but he was coming back and expected a drink waiting for him. He didn't bother waiting for a reply as he put his phone back in his pocket. For now thoughts about the girl were shoved to the back of his mind as he had more important matters to focus.
"So what might have caught your attention? Perhaps you got a bit impatient and decided to mix work and fun for once while waiting, hmm?" Daniel inquired from his position on the sofa the moment the door opened and he saw that it was his friend.
"You know I don't make an exception to such things. A curious, clueless minx ended up poking her nose where she didn't belong." Richard replied, sitting opposite of his friend as he picked up the shot glass which he knew held tequila and quickly knocked it back.
"Oh, a new comer? Someone you already claimed?" He questioned, refilling his friend's glass.
"She's definitely new, but it's nothing like that." He replied, waving off the other's questions. "She doesn't even seem aware of what the other half of this club has to offer."
"So not someone you plan on claiming?"
"We'll see. That isn't what we came here to talk about though." Richard reminded the other. "It's still the weekend and I would very much like to be out of here before midnight."
"Well, I really only brought you here to discuss the idea of that contract and show some of the potential members who have shown interest to see what you think." Daniel explained as he handed his friend back the dark folder that he was previously looking through before the interruption.
"Does this include the work contract as well as the information for ideas you already have in place? You know the less work I have to do, the more likely I will be to accept it." Richard asked looking at the file, but not opening as he sipped on his third round of tequila. He saw the slightly nervous smile that had appeared on his friend's face.
"That's actually kind of the thing.. Because you'd be in charge of everything, I thought it might be better to let you decide the training and how everything should be setup." Richard fixed him with a dry look.
"So what I'm hearing is, you got an idea you think would be good, but because you lack the ability to execute it yourself and don't know how to begin, you thought you could pull me into it and make it work."
"As your friend, I found that rather hurtful Richard. It's true I need vision to make this work, but I asked you first out of respect despite knowing others who'd be happy to help." Daniel responded with a feign air of hurt.
"Is that so. I'm surprised you haven't asked your girl to help you with this instead."songstress
"You know I can't do that. I'm not technically supposed to be taking on more work, that's why I had to bring in someone else."
"Well I won't make you any promises right now until I consider it and look through everything. I'll let you know Monday night however as I'll be over this way following a work dinner. For now, let's talk about other things."
