Falkor heard those words in his mind, and he immediately widened his eyes due to surprise.

This is because he heard it with his mind, and not with his ears. This is the first time this happened to him, even though he was a dragon.

After all, how can someone hear with his mind? Well, technically, it is the mind who processes the sound waves or something like that, but still.

This is pretty weird and so surprising that Falkor was just shocked when he first heard it.

What's more, due to his advanced and superb senses, Falkor was sure that he didn't hear it with his ears, which doubled the shock for him.

And because of this, Falkor tried to find the source of the voice.

Due to Falkor's instincts and senses working together, it was not that hard for him to break down the voice and he was able to recognize it soon enough.
