Darah kept walking as if she saw nothing. It's going to be alright, he won't notice. Her hair was already feeling loose on the bun, the strands starting to poke out one by one. The guard beside her was silent now that he saw Ryu but Darah could feel the rain dimming down. She had to leave before he noticed she was gone.
The car went right past them and for a moment, Darah let out a deep sigh but the guard seemed to not leave her side until she said something. It would be a bad idea to mutter even a single word! Suddenly she noticed that he had stopped in his tracks during the long walk to the gate. He was gone, finally. Maybe he had given up trying to get her to talk. Almost there! She felt like she could breathe again and a small smile of victory formed on her lips even though her legs were still shaking out of fear. A few steps forward, and a hand dragged her firmly to the middle of the pavement. Her bun came loose out of the intensity, revealing her mess of a hair and her umbrella flew right into the strong wind, bidding her goodbye. Now it was just her, drenched in rain while staring at the ominous tall figure with those deadly black orbs…
"I will recognise you even in the darkest alley, Darah Chen…" A dangerous smirk played through his lips as Darah shook her head in utter fear. What was this man? She thought he had left in his car! How!?
"L-Let me go!!!" Darah finally lost her chill, shouting into the roaring rain. Her hair was completely wet and so was the devil in front of her, his menacing smirk turning into something more. The guard behind her was shocked as his mouth hung open at Darah. He thought it was Dana. How blind was he…
"Why exactly should I let you go? You broke the rules. Now you'll stay here forever." Darah only saw his disgusting smile as she tried to pull herself away from him. As she pushed him angrily, he pulled her closer and lifted her up by her waist and threw her over his shoulder like a sack. Now she was kicking her legs but he held it tight with his arms… Such a brat.
"A tough one aren't we!?" Ryu said loudly in the rain, carrying her screaming frame back into the house, the guards watching with open mouths except for this time, it wasn't to the guesthouse but his own place. All the time he carried her back, his eardrums felt like they would burst from the intensity of her scream now that they got inside. Mrs Ruo rushed from the kitchen to see her master drenched from rain with a screaming Darah on his shoulder. She was shocked to death. He was equally loud, ordering her to keep quiet but his voice was silenced by her screams. The maid watched silently how he had carried her all the way up to the adjacent bedroom until he shut the door behind him with an angry thud.
"Shut up!" He yelled, throwing her over the bed. Darah screamed again, trying to dash towards the door but he caught and threw her once again over the bed.
"Leave me!!! Leave me!!! You fucking monster!!! Fucking piece of shit!!!"
"Mind your language, crazy woman!" He glared, squeezing her tear filled cheeks but she swat his hands away, making him notice the dark purple mark he had left on her wrist from holding too tight. He was panting as much as her from shouting on the top of his lungs for too long but seeing her wrist made him feel guilty for some reason.
When he turned around to hide the disappointment, she dashed for the door again and this time when he pulled her back his legs tripped over her's, pushing them both over the bed. Darah was fighting him like a beast, trying to free herself from his clutches over her hands by clawing his arms, screaming in a deadly loud pitch that tore into Ryu's ears.
"Let go!!!"
Ryu had never felt so helpless before, fighting a woman like absolute savage animals but not wanting to hurt her at the same time.
"Stop it or you'll hurt yourself!!" Ryu warned angrily but she kept clawing. When he let go of her hands, Ryu saw a sudden glint of utter hatred in her wide teary brown orbs and in an instant she pushed him over the headrest and climbed on top of him with a knife in her hand aimed at his chest. The man froze, his eyes returning to his usual calm state as Darah's gaze pierced into his soul…
"Darah Chen… Calm down." Ryu demanded in a low voice, staring at her carefully. Her eyes were sharp and so full of hate that he couldn't help but wonder what he had done so wrong. She looked like she was seeking revenge on the wrong person…
"No I won't. You don't understand a tinge of what I feel. You don't care for people's feelings." She replied indifferently… Ryu kept his gaze locked with her's, taking great care not to make a wrong move. Maybe he had underestimated her. He didn't want to make the same mistake twice.
"Then what's stopping you? Get back at me."
Those words left her silent for a moment. Ryu himself had no idea why he said that but he suddenly felt like he was at his weakest. He had let Darah be underestimated by him… He carefully and slowly held her wrist on which he had left the purple mark on holding too tight and looked at her again.
"Come on. Get back at me for hurting you…"
Ryu regretted saying that because the next second the knife sank a slight bit into his shoulder, drawing blood.
"Be careful what you ask for next time." Darah whispered as she saw the blood but he remained motionless with his gaze fixed on her's. Why didn't he care? Why didn't he look hurt?? She stared at the knife end tainted with blood and for a moment looked taken aback by her own actions.
"Do it. I have nothing to lose."
Soon he saw the anger in her eyes fade away and get replaced with emptiness and then into sadness. She broke down silently as a bout of tears ran down her cheeks, dripping over his already wet shirt. Ryu carefully held the knife in her hand and seeing that she wasn't repelling, took it from her and threw it towards the door. Darah covered her teary face with her hands and fell from over him to the other side, crying into the sheets.
Ryu stared at her weak frame for a moment and got up from the bedside, silently… His mind was blank and his legs barely took him to the door. He bent low, taking the knife and got out, shutting the door as he leaned his back against it.
"Young master!!!" The old maid came running to him seeing blood stain the white fabric over his shoulder. He looked at her… She had never seen him so blank and unresponsive.
"I'm alright." He muttered, and gestured to her to leave. Staring into space, he walked down the stairs not knowing where to go.
