"I'll be right back, Ok?"
Darah nodded slowly but Ryu's smile disappeared into thin air as he hid his hand behind his back. He quickly went towards the sink at the farthest corner and washed his hand roughly. The scrape had almost clotted after he pressed down on it. A minor cut like that was nothing to him. But still, how can I be so stupid!? He wondered, a glare in his eyes as he washed repeatedly over the copper coloured blood spots. Could anyone else have noticed it? It's not like Darah hadn't seen him kill before. But for some reason, he just dreaded the thought of her encountering a situation like that again. Like he wanted to keep her hidden in a bubble where no threat could reach her.
"Ryu? Are you sure you're alright?" Darah sounded much more straight headed now that she had wiped her tears, looking at him with great focus.
"Yes…" He turned around, wiping his hands with the tissues from a nearby box. Looking at her, he wondered why he even introduced this oblivious looking flower into this room, or even made her touch dangerous weapons for that part. But then he reminded himself how things could go wrong if she were ever in a situation with his enemies alone. She couldn't always depend on him. He felt an urge to protect her, for some stupid reason, even at the cost of her sanity at this point.
"Let's try guns again." His gaze which appeared soft until then suddenly changed in it's aura as he gestured to her to come near him. He took a lightweight gun to his hand, loaded a suppressor in it followed by bullets. When he looked behind, he saw Darah tracing her hands along the glazing surface of his knives, almost romantically. He furrowed his brows and approached her from behind.
"Darah." He called firmly but it looked like she was lost. He smirked, pulling her by her wrist.
"Hey!" She frowned, wondering where he was dragging her to, as if she were a disobedient toddler. He handed over the gun to her and stood behind her just like the other day. Darah already felt her legs going wobbly, heart getting ready to go on a rollercoaster. Why, just why do you have to test my strength like this!? She cursed all the gods that came to her mind but at the same time couldn't help but feel all that sexual tension bullshit that was taking over her body now. She'd never imagined a day she'd have to get so close to a man, to have him literally breathing over her neck!
"Don't pull the trigger until I say so." Ryu ordered, his eyes staring dead into the target board. Look at him, all calm and focused, Darah wondered. How could he stay so calm when she was seconds away from a heart attack!?
The question Darah asked herself was whether she enjoyed it... Her face didn't show much emotion, or so she thought but it was a dead giveaway that a corner of her heart loved the way he held her arms ever so endearingly. It felt like they were shooting cupid's arrow and not bullets anymore. Why are you making it so hard for me Ryu Sheng!? Dear lord, give me the strength to stand straight!
"Are you sure that you didn't train yourself with any sort of blades?" His voice was as low as a whisper, sending shivers down her spine.
"N-No." She stuttered, feeling the tip of his nose tracing over the side of her neck. His warm breath tingled every inch of her skin, making her want to simply melt into his arms.
"Are you sure?" He asked again, this time his voice going deeper as his gaze fixated over her still wet lashes, rosy dusted cheeks and her jutting red lips.
"Do you trust me?" Darah asked all of a sudden, making him turn all his focus away from the target. I might faint any second! she cried to her heart.
"I trust you as much as you trust me." He whispered, pulling the trigger at the same time while his eyes were still fixated on her. Ryu couldn't deny that he felt a mild sense of pleasure take over his mind as he watched her oblivious to his prying eyes. Darah could sense the piercing gaze but tried her best to not look back at him out of love for her own poor heart. Instead she was awestruck at the consequent straight middle hits on the target, feeling overpowered by his accuracy… He didn't train for seven years for nothing. As soon as he found himself getting too engrossed in her, he slowly retracted from his business by pulling the gun down. An air of dullness took over him. That was until he felt a pair of hands hold his wrist tightly.
"Teach me more!" Darah almost begged, still not able to face him from all the shyness. You had the courage to ask him but not look at him!? Now he's going to think you're rude!
Receiving no response from behind, not even a movement of his arm, she retracted her gaze from the target and took his hand within her's. She then took the gun slowly into her free hand and examined the wound. The cut had closed up, making her feel relieved… It wasn't that deep after all. But all she heard were empty breaths from behind in the deep silence of the room.
"You see… I still feel very bad about it. So don't bother me looking at the cut again and again." Her soft voice sounded awfully disheartened. But she was met with silence again. It only worried her more so she continued.
"You're mad at me aren't you? Is there any way I can make up for it-" She froze, feeling his fingers gently slither down both her hands and fold it around her waist, in a way making her back glued tight to his chest. Her cheeks turned beet red while her shaking eyes turned slowly to meet his soulful, domineering gaze. She immediately tore her eyes off of his venomous beauty, panting over the close proximity. He wasn't smiling nor did he look angry. It was unreadable to Darah, just like most times.
"Are you willing to make up for it, Yes or No?" He asked coldly, leaving Darah speechless. Her heart was beating out of her chest, but in a weird way it felt so beautiful that she couldn't describe it in mere words.
"R-Ryu." She whispered, feeling anxious about what he'd do.
"Yes or No?" He asked again, this time merely in a whisper, his head sinking into the crook of her neck as if he were taking in the essence of her addicting scent.
"Yes!" She replied mindlessly. His desperate fingers interlocked with her's as his lips in a sudden desire trailed butterfly kisses down her pale, exposed neck. Darah held in a whimper, her body completely losing all it's strength as Ryu held her strongly in his monster arms from behind.
"How much of your words should I believe? They make me feel so… lucky..." He whispered into her ears as he gently nipped down on her lobe. A subtle moan from her tightly shut lips then made his heart race in passion. She could feel each breath, each hungry kiss sucking the life out of her pale neck, turning it red in all it's intensity. She felt so stupid for not realising it sooner, that the amused looks he gave her before weren't just looks at all. It held something so much more deep. Her body felt like it'd burn off any moment and that was until he made her turn around, gazing desperately into her wide, scared eyes that he realised he may have gone a bit rough on her. But he couldn't find himself stopping anytime soon… Just looking at her, completely shy and vulnerable made his heart burn in dire need. He pulled her by her wrist, a hand crawling into her mess of a hair. She knew what was coming and it stole away the last bit of courage left inside of her.
"I need to go!" She yelled, not knowingly but out of fear. Run away you coward, you'll die a virgin anyways, Darah's mind taunted her as she stepped back. Ryu's lustful eyes were puzzled in an instant, his hand still tightly grabbing her wrist.
"Go where?"
"T-To the bathroom! D-Duh!!!" Darah congratulated herself for messing up big time, her legs feeling like jelly over the floor.
A small smirk replaced his straight lips, pulling her close to his chest. The cutest most dangerously beautiful liar he'd ever encountered, he thought as he neared his face to her's, pushing away her stray locks of hair. Darah almost instinctively pushed him away but felt sorry for doing so. That was until she saw his otherwise lazy looking eyes doting on her adorable face so lovingly.
"See, I've made up for it." She mumbled, a very shy smile creeping up to her lips as she turned away almost quickly before he'd catch her again. Ryu smiled to himself, partly in defeat and partly in daze as he saw her nervous frame jitter away from him... A kiss can always wait if the heart remains the same.
