Powers

I sat sown on a rock and watched as the river rushed by. Erevan was asleep now which was a good thing. He needed the rest more then anything. And honestly I was glad to not be in the same room as him. I didn't want to be scared of him but I couldn't deny that fear was there.

I looked over at Ebony who was laying next to me and sighed.

"What am I going to do? I have to let myself trust him or I'll be too scared to continue. And I know for a fact I can't get home without him. He knows more then he lets on."

That was another thing that really bothered me. He had that look to him like he knew more then he was saying. But I pushed the thoughts aside when I heard the door open. When I looked over I saw Erevan leaning on the left side of the door frame holding the same side of himself. He shifted and leaned on the other side of the door as if to give that wound some space. He was looking at me with concern. I did just leave me back there in almost panic but that was also hours ago.

"Hey," I forced out not wanting to listen to the silence anymore. "Feeling better?"

"Yeah," he said a little breathy. Of course he'd still be in pain but at least he was feeling a little better. I still didn't know what to do though. I had done all I could to help him feel better.

He walked over to me and sat down on the ground with a grunt. He was looking out and at no specific thing. I watched as his chest would rise slowly as he breathed and felt a bit of relief to know he was still here.

"It's going to be dark soon. We should make a fire."

I got up and brushed off the dirt from my dress.

"I'll get some wood."

Erevan grabbed my arm before I could walk off but immediately felt pain as he did so. He took a second to compose himself and then quickly went to say what he wanted to say.

"It's not safe out there."

"You can't go out there. Besides I'll be fine. I know how to run."

He gave me that look but I shrugged off his hand and headed for the woods to grab sticks and whatnot. As I walked into it I didn't feel anything like I did when I was in the dark forest. So immediately there was relief.

After some time I started heading back to the little cabin. Halfway there I stopped in place seeing Erevan on the ground not moving. I dropped the wood and quickly ran toward him feeling my heart stop yet beat vigorously at the same time. My legs felt weak but I still pushed myself to him. When I got to his body I dropped to my knees and held him in my arms. I hadn't realized I was crying.

"Please wake up," I whispered over and over again. "Don't leave me alone here."

He didn't move. Not even his chest moved and I listened to see if he was breathing. He wasn't. I panicked more and held him closer to me.

Yes I was scared of him but I was more scared to be alone. More scared to be left on my own in this new world. He had shown me kindness and I couldn't take that for granted.

As I held him close to me a bright green light started appearing and I felt my tears stop a bit. I looked around trying to figure out what it was coming from but I saw nothing around us. Ebony started to freak out a bit with the sudden light as well. I felt myself get weaker as the light got brighter. That's when I realized it was coming from me.

That's right I have powers. But what could possibly be happening now? All I've seen myself do was make plants appear out of nowhere. What could this light mean?

The light got so bright I couldn't look anymore. So I closed my eyes and turned my head away. Then it just flashed away. I slowly turned my head back to look at Erevan and saw nothing different. Until he coughed and started breathing again practically jumping out of my arms. He looked at me with nothing but confusion and shock and I couldn't help but smile and hold him close to me. Without going against it he held me back.

"Erevan! You're alive!"

I squeezed him even though I felt like I had no feeling in me. Whatever that light was came from me and I saved him. Of course there was to be a price. So I accepted my weakness just glad not to be alone in this world.

"I don't know what happened," Erevan said. I let go of him and moved back so I could look him in the face. I locked eyes with him and studied his expression. "One second I was gone, and the next," he stopped and really looked at me, "I was back."

I laughed a little and tried my best to stay serious.

"I'm a little confused myself. But it's ok. You're ok now."

I hugged him again when I realized something. As I held him he didn't grunt in pain or anything. I didn't feel any cuts or scratches either. I pulled back and started unbuttoning his shirt.

"Woah, what are you doing?"

I finished and took off his shirt seeing that all of his wounds had completely healed. There weren't even scars. I was absolutely shocked. Erevan showed that too. He looked up at me and then started to realize something.

"You did this?"

I slowly nodded my head running my hand lightly over his chest. It took me a second to realize what I was doing and I quickly removed my hand and blushed a little.

"I-I don't know how but yes, I'm pretty sure I healed you."

He grabbed my hands and smiled.

"It's your powers! The goddess is supposed to have powers of life. The plants and... this. You really are from the prophesy. I'll admit I didn't really believe it at first and thought you were some imposter but now there is nothing to persuade me otherwise. We have to get to the castle."

"But that's still forever away."

"Then we better get moving."
