"Have you decided yet?" The silver-haired man asked and Makoto just stared at him. He can't just accept his offer. It is like a death wish.
"I'll offer to you my throne and turn myself into a human but you should not take that ability away from Lauren." Makoto said. He is not afraid that Lauren will die again because he can use his powers to reincarnate her. He is afraid that she will live her life without the ability to love everyone.
"So, you don't want her to stop loving you." He is guilty for what he has said. Will they call him selfish if he doesn't want Lauren to lose that ability?
"She is the love of my life. I don't think there is any more purpose in my life aside from her." He reasoned out and Kazuma gave him a smile.
"It will be unfair for me but it's alright. I will reincarnate her and will not take that ability away but you need to do one thing for me." Kazuma added and a thorn from his heart was plucked out.
"You need to kill the current king of the underworld for me. May the best man win." He continued while smiling and his black and white wings appeared.
"You're a nephalem." Makoto's eyes widened and he turned his back before waving his gloved hand.
In a snap, Kazuma disappeared. Makoto started to run towards Lauren's glass room. The doors went open as his tears fell from his eyes once more. She is standing in front of the glass casket with the bouquet of black roses on her hands. She smiled softly and inhaled the sweet mild scent of the flowers and when she heard light footsteps from behind, she turned around and saw Makoto. Her smile went wide and he quickly hugged her in his arms tightly.
"I missed you so much, my love." He whispered with a shaky voice. Lauren hugged him back and nodded, humming softly as a response.
Meanwhile, Fuyu and Shohei are in the hallways, walking quietly right after that talk at the garden. It may be awkward for both of them but she knows she did the right thing to reject him, especially now that she truly loves her husband. The queen saw them and the younger one smiled at her. Gia quickly approached them and Shohei left the two alone to talk.
"Okaa-san, I want to go back to the underworld." Fuyu said. She sighed softly and shook her head. She can't let her and the little princess go back there for now.
"Sho and Yuuki can handle themselves. Do you trust them?" She asked and Fuyu slowly nodded. Is it really necessary for them to stay there?
"Okaa-san, do you think the king is really evil?" It is now Fuyu's turn to ask and she felt a little dumbfounded because of that question. With all the things he did to them, she will really tell her that the king is evil.
"Yes, my little Fuyu. Why are you asking me that question? Is something bothering you?" She asked and Fuyu placed her hands on his growing belly.
"Okaa-san, what if he is not my real father? What if Reiki is my real father?" She started cursing internally now that she broke her promise with his father but she also remembered that she didn't agree to that promise.
"Fuyu, that's impossible. It is our first time to meet him and also, what made you think that he is your real father?" She chuckled softly but her heart was beating so fast because of nervousness. What if Fuyu is really telling the truth?
"Just what ifs, Okaa-san. I'm longing for a father's love. I want to know what it feels like to have a father who loves me, who cares for me." Fuyu smiled faintly. She hugged her gently and carefully while thinking a lot of things.
She can't blame her for wanting to experience having a father besides her. Somehow, she feels like it is also her fault that she grew up without one. She looked for ways to love the king but she never found one. She started thinking about Itsuki. Remembering those years she spent with them in the human world, she can only tell that Fuyu saw him as an older brother instead.
"I'm sorry, my little Fuyu. I'm sorry that you grew up without a father by your side. Perhaps, you can ask Reiki if he wants to be a father figure to you. I think he will agree to it." She released her from the hug and caressed her cheek.
"Arigatou, Okaa-san." The younger one whispered. She pinched her cheek lightly while smiling. She can't wait for everything to finish.
Back to the underworld, the prince stayed inside their chamber for hours, thinking about what they will do next. With his remaining powers, he can tell that he is getting weaker. He already gave most of his demonic powers to Fuyu and he is now waiting for the right time to settle everything. The princess is the fated one. It is the king's fate to be killed by the princess.
His mind went back to reality when he heard a knock from outside. He stood up from his seat and opened the door. The servant told him that the king wants them to have a talk. He nodded his head and went out of their chamber to follow the servant to the kingdom's hall. When he arrived, he saw the king sitting on his throne, dazed and seemed shaken. The servant left the two men alone and Sho looked around, wondering where his son was.
"My king, you called for me." He started and the king didn't hesitate to raise a brow. He materialized a black dagger on his palm and stood up from his throne to press the edge against Sho's pale white skin.
"You're the real king's right-hand man and I can tell that you have something to do about this." The king said in a low voice and he lifted his chin as he felt the sharp edge slightly cutting his skin.
"I don't know what you are talking about, my king. I'm only following your orders." He made his voice firm but deep inside, he can feel how mad the king is.
"Just make sure you are not involved in how my twin got reincarnated or else, your beloved little princess will disappear." His body shook with the king's threat. Now that the little princess' life is threatened, he must do the next move soon.
