He removed the hood he was wearing. He welcomed his queen in his arms but his heart kept on telling him that she was still not fully recovered. He nuzzled his palm against her cheeks before placing a kiss on her lips. He doesn't know for how long they have been living in that world. Perhaps, they will live longer than anyone else. His queen's body will automatically heal by itself if ever she gets wounds or even illnesses. As for himself, even if he tried to kill himself, it was useless. He will never die. Death is never part of his life.
"I want to see our daughter." He whispered and she lifted her chin to look at him. He stared deep in her eyes which was full of hatred and regret. Hatred because their daughter is supposedly their son and regret because she gave birth to her.
"Why would you like to see the thing which ruined our lives?" She asked and he pursed his lips. He let out a deep sigh and released her from his hug.
"Our daughter is not a thing. She is a person. In fact, she is also a demon like us. Aren't you happy that she is having our grandson?" He asked and she let out a laugh, shaking her head before taking a seat on the couch.
"Me? Happy? Why would I feel happy that she will have a son?! I am the one who should have a son and not her!" She roared in anger. He couldn't help but to resent his own wife. How could she think like that after all those years they've spent together? Until now, she is cursing her own child. How could she sleep at night, knowing that her daughter's life is in danger?
"It's been more than a millennium, Katarina. For how long will you keep that hatred in your heart? We all know that she didn't do anything wrong? She didn't wish to be born and you know that. You were the one who asked for this." He knelt in front of her and gently squeezed her arms to persuade her to open her heart for their only daughter.
"So, is it my fault? I asked for a son and not for a daughter. I just followed the ritual and until now, it is my fault?" She clenched her fists tight while trying not to spill her tears.
"I'm not blaming you, my love. I just want you to accept her wholeheartedly. She is still your daughter. Girisha is still our daughter. If I have a chance to keep her here in our kingdom, I will do it. I'm longing for our child. We never had the chance to stay by her side." She caressed his cheek and rested her forehead on his. She doesn't know for how long she will be blinded with her hatred and regret. She doesn't know if she will be able to accept her in their lives.
"I'm sorry, Yuu. I don't think I will be able to accept nor forgive her." She whispered and her tears finally fell. He doesn't know what to do anymore.
"If you can't accept her, let me visit her. I want to see her. I want to take care of her. I want to know her family. Don't hurt her anymore. I'm tired of it." He stood up and walked away from her. She stared at his retreating figure and realized that she will lose him in the future if she will continue everything.
Most of the time after she gave birth to their daughter, all she did was to hate her. She already forgot the love of her husband. She set everything aside and focused on killing her, not realizing that she is hurting him. She stared at her own hands and smiled faintly. Those hands were used to kill their daughter. She touched her own skin and caressed it. She remembered how dirty her whole body was. It was tainted with blood. The demons inside her tainted her whole life with blood. Her desire to have a son just led her to a miserable life. If she wasn't that desperate, they would have been enjoying the best days of their lives.
Meanwhile in the underworld, one of the servants came to bring something to the queen. The king opened the doors and the servant explained that someone delivered a letter for the queen. He took it and read it himself first before giving it to the queen. He put the letter back inside the envelope and turned to look at her sleeping figure. He hid it inside the drawer and went back to his seat. The queen will give birth to the little prince soon, so he decided to give the letter later in order to avoid problems. He couldn't leave his queen alone, so he called the servant to ask who delivered the letter.
"It was a man, my King. He was wearing a hood, so I haven't seen his face but I remembered his voice. It was low and husky. If I hear it once again, I will know that it is him." The servant answered and he nodded.
Since the queen's mother went there to kill her own daughter, he already assumed that the one who delivered the letter was her father. He couldn't help but to get worried. What if her father also wants to kill her and the little prince? Though when he read the letter, it seemed like he had no plans on doing it. He read it again before laying down beside her. He gently caressed her hair and carefully placed his hand on her protruding belly.
"Riku.." The queen mumbled in her sleep and he smiled softly. He is happy that she is thinking about him even if she is asleep. He held her closer and closed his eyes to get some rest.
On the other hand, the princess just finished helping the prince with the shopping bags. Yuuki was carrying Hanahime when the little one started to cry. Apparently, she saw a kid eating an ice cream but since she can't have it yet, she started throwing tantrums. Sho took her from Yuuki's arms and tried to calm her down.
"That's what you get from spoiling her too much." Fuyu said while smiling playfully. He let out a sigh and Yuuki chuckled.
Their son took the shopping bags that contained the things he bought and went to his room already. He smiled widely while fixing his school bag. It will be his first time and he is excited. It is only Saturday, so he still has time to check his school requirements. He put his name on the bag tag and it is his first time to have a surname. His name as Yamamoto Yuuki is something he will cherish forever.
"Yuuki, what do you want for dinner? Your father will cook for us." His mother asked after knocking and opening the door.
"I don't know yet, Okaa-san. Can we search online? I still don't know how to use the phone though." He said and she smiled softly. She missed holding a phone, so she bought three phones for them.
"Your phone is still downstairs. Come. I will teach you and your father to use it." His eyes glimmered when his mother said that. He quickly followed her downstairs and then, they saw that Sho was standing at the doorway and talking to someone else.
